I'm turning into a 'casual' this year fella.

            Shame.

My motivation this year is not good, I'm playing a bit half hearted. Not good ...

DDG to Lloris for -4 about 6 weeks ago mus be up there with my all time boneheaded transfers

considering just getting DDG back on wc

Given United's fixtures a treble up could be on the cards with DDG, ADM and Rooney

I've been scanning possible keeper options and can't find any I like so might just get DDG back

Gonna keep Lloris for BUR, lei and re-asses after that

        Right now I'm considering

        DDG

        2 from Baines/Che/City, Vergini, Hutton +1

RVP imo. Rooney was in centre midfield today, with Mata playing ahead of him CAM.

RVP is bang on form. Chasing down everything, full of confidence. Plus, he's on pens. No brainer for me.

Thinking of doing Duff to O'Shea with my FT this week. However with his fixtures being thus:

new, HUL, avl, mci, LIV, tot

combined with the fact that I don't need to play him next week, so would only have him for the HUL and avl games, is it worth it vs. Duff's fixtures of:

tot, LIV, mci, new, QPR, CPL

If I hold I'd have to play Dummett (mun) or Duff - if he's fit (LIV) in gw18

    Any thoughts appreciated!

Kane is better away, but Burnley at home is good fixture, too. I've watched Giroud stats in this period last season and he was decent over Christmas period. But is it too much as I already have Sanchez? Doubling up with Swansea isn't smart also, right?

I posted this yesterday and figure it might be of some interest to the new crowd here.

    -----------------------------------------------

    Zabaleta vs Sagna gametime forecast:

This is my prediction for how gametime is going to go down between Zabaleta and Sagna until GW24ish. Zabaleta should play 7 of 9 league fixtures until mid-Feb, with Sagna playing vs BUR and the cup games (5 games total), as well as HUL though that is after the WC.

This 7:5 ratio is roughly in line with what has happened so far: Zabaleta has played 16 games, Sagna 9 games, across all competitions.

    GW17 Man City v Crystal Palace Sat 20 Dec...Zabaleta
GW18 West Brom v Man City Fri 26 Dec ... Zabaleta
GW19 Man City v Burnley ...Sun 28 Dec.. Sagna
GW20 Man City v Sunderland Thu 1 Jan ...Zabaleta
Man City v Sheff Wed Sat 3 Jan ... Sagna
GW21 Everton v Man City Sat 10 Jan ....Zabaleta
GW22 Man City v Arsenal Sun 18 Jan .... Zabaleta
FA Cup 3rd Rd. ... Sat 24 Jan ... Sagna
GW23Chelsea v Man City Sat 31 Jan .....Zabaleta
    (JAN WILDCARD)
Man City v Hull ........Sat 7 Feb .......Sagna
Stoke v Man City Wed 11 Feb .... Zabaleta
FA Cup 5th Rd. Sat 14 Feb... Sagna

If this is indeed what happens, then Zabaleta is a great pick imo. One missed fixture (ie. BUR) wouldn't be terrible if you can get Hutton(SUN) or someone else to cover GW19 in particular.

Note that on only two occasions did either come on as a sub: Sagna when Zabaleta was sent off vs Chelsea, and Zabaleta came on for 20mins vs Bayern in a must-win game for City. Normally that never happens otherwise as Pellegrini prefers to tinker with his front-6 + LB in-game.

I could live with that, would be annoying if he missed the Burnley game though

      Damn Sagna/Pellegrini

Can you do a Left Back one as well?

I have absolutely zero interest in the LB's, simply because its impossible to predict Kolarov's starts.

More importantly, Clichy and Kolarov especially are often used as late subs for eachother, meaning that 1 pointers are inevitable.

I think he's a solid choice but I'd prefer to go for Zabaleta as he offers more attacking threat

That seems logical, yes. However, Pellegrini could alter it slightly and you have to consider potential injuries during games that would bring Zab on from the bench. It is for this reason that you can never be 100% ready with back-up if Zab gets benched.

You know my stance on this Rick but for that reason it is better to go for one of the CBs, at least that way you know when they will be nailed on to start or not.

Put it this way, say Zab misses the BUR game, and City keep a CS. The two CBs (and clichy/kolarov) gain 6-9 points (depending on BAPS) just from one game, and that is assuming they don't get any attacking returns.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to own Zab if he was 100% nailed-on.

I would agree, but Mangala and Demichelis have spotty gametime records this season too, and Kompany is perhaps only a week or two away from starting again, you just can't be sure.

Of Demi and Mangala I'm more intrigued by Mangala tbh.

As for injuries, they can happen to anyone. The only reason why Zab would come on as a sub would be if Sagna gets injured, but there's no more risk for that than for Zab to hurt himself as a 100% nailed on player.

Yes but while Kompany is out, Demi and Mangala are 100% nailed on (we all know this) so the 'spotty' gametime records from the past are irrelevant.

Exactly, you can't be sure about Kompany's injury. He could be back before the New Year, he could be back after it. This is why we have free transfers.
