Lukaku last year was hugely overrated by some.
He's the 3rd top striker points wise, and the top goals wise. I severely doubt you could pick 3 strikers to outscore him over the next 5 gameweeks.
RVP, Bony, Kane could all theoretically score more..especially if Costa is injured or banned (which both are realistic possibilities)
For those of you (including myself) debating Baines, here is some food for thought.
Baines FPL Stats so far…
4th highest scoring Defender on 74pts
Scored 2 goals, joint highest
Assisted 6, double Janmaat in 2nd place with 3
15 Bonus points is the highest for any defender
Been in the weekly Dream Team 4 times (once more than Aguero with 3)
After seeing this written down its clear to me that I’m keeping, especially with the ball hogging Mirallas possibly out for a while.for me the decision is based solely on Mirallas

Anyone know much about the False 9 formation?
If so, who are the likely goalscorers? wingers? do the full backs have to push up more than usual?everything should operate more or less the same, you just have a denser midfield with a traditional CAM who feels comfrotable with his back to goal, pushing forward as the play dictates

I think that the false 9 formation allows for more defense from the front so that the fullbacks can push forward a bit more, but not drastically

Don't be so negative, Forster will probably score 2 or 3 like the rest of the keepers, no point in making a change there. Baines can do anything on his day, certainly keep for now. Hull really aren't doing much offensively, with only 2 goals in their last 8 league games! Yun should keep a cleanie if i;m honest, West Brom don't look all that great at the minute.
I know Naylor and Yun could get one this week that's why I'm considering saving, it's just that they're not nearly reliable enough!

This talk of rotation over Christmas. Aside from Chelsea, I can't see many other teams, perhaps Everton, that will rotate that much. A combination of a lack of strength in depth and the importance of title and European aspirations leads me to not panic so much. Am I wrong?
It's a strange situation, but you are right. Other teams have no depth and will play a few of their players in all games. caulker was my bet to play all of them, but I'm not sure now.

Go to the members area comparison tool, select Baines GW5-11, and compare it to Baines GW1-4 and/or Baines GW12-16 (which are the weeks Mirallas has played.
And after seeing that, you simply wait for news about Mirallas... If he's injured, you keep Baines. If he's fit, you sell Baines. Simple really.For non-members, take my word for it that I have never seen comparison stats so lopsided this season. 😉

as a baines owner i wouldn't mind mirallas being fit so i can sell baines. It would be worrying to sell Baines if not alot of people do and Mirallas isn't there though
But isn't this an easy, possibly lazy way, to explain away Baines' issues? Sure, he scored more when Mirallas was out, but does that presume causality? I don't think anyone can make that claim with certitude.

I get that everyone now sees him as a yellow-card-getting thug who gets one goal a game. But I remember how much everyone (OK not everyone) loved him in the early weeks of the season. Were people just wrong? Or has he changed? I reckon he has it in him to be the player everyone creamed over in the early GWs, but he is just a bit rough now. Could he not get back to that form, are have we just decided we were all wrong about him earlier?He now has excitement in his legs

Simple idea: Chelsea are going for the title, they have to win and so have to score. Yes they go in their shell with a lead but they have to score, lower teams can go for bore draws. My only rationale for keeping him.
I think he's a stud and the favorite for the golden boot. That said, I'm not convinced he's the best option for one of your three Chelsea slots. He might get 30 goals, but if Hazard/Oscar can get 10+ at nearly double the value of Costa's goals (5 + 2-3 BAPs) + more assists + points for clean sheets they're better picks at cheaper prices. Throw in their reasonably settled back 4 + Cesc and Costa will have a tough time competing unless he can start adding some assists/cut out the yellow cards.

B) Kompany & Costa to 5.2 def & RVP (-4)
B makes most sense as Kompany's injured, but with Baines, Yun and Azpi as the other defenders the 5.2 defender would more than likely start on the bench.
A probably makes most sense points wise but if Azpi is dropped I'd have no other defender (injured Kompany and suspended Hutton on the bench)
