The ScoutCast – Episode 146 – Closer

Granville and I get cosy on a two-seater sofa – within touching distance – just how he likes it.

In truth, my-host is getting too close for comfort: the mini-league gap is down to just 42 points, with Granville relentlessly chiping away at my previously unassailable lead.

We review Gameweek 16’s events, including my oh-so bitter Dzeko pill, before discussing De Gea’s uncanny form, the demise of Leighton Baines and my latest set-to with Jonty: are there better options than Diego Costa up top?

The regulars wrap themselves around that lot, while Granville, thankfully, keeps his hands to himself.

Snuggle up to the noise via this link or get up close and personal via the player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Plan is to do the following over 2 weeks

    Baines and azp out
    Ivanovic and zab in

What should be the order of transfers ? Baines to Ivan can't happen first cause I have 3 Chelsea

Removing Azpi makes little sense. What's so appealing about Baines, Ivan and CTY defenders?

Baines and azp over Ivanovic and zab?? Surely the latter is better

Like I said, I plan to do them over 2 weeks. Just wondering whether I should lose azp first or Baines.

Like I said, I'd do neither. But remove Baines first, if you must.

So you don't think zab and Ivanovic are better than Baines and azp ? Since the transfers are not costing any points

I would rather stick with Baines and Azpi

The transfers are stopping you from doing other transfers though. You have to think of the opportunity cost. Fwiw, I think Azpi is a better pick than Ivan taking their price, BPS potential and attacking potential into consideration. And Baines is the defender with the most potential in the league.

Ivanovic is more nailed on and a bigger goal threat. Same for zab plus great fixtures. Baines I am looking to take out

    Bartley > ?

    A) Clichy (will certainly be rested for Kolarov over Christmas)
    B) Mangala (won't be rested, but is on the dreaded 4 bookings)
    C) Demichelis (won't be rested, but would need to take him out early Jan with the return of Kompany)

Have i got all that right? I'm leaning towards Demi and playing my Jan wildcard first week.

    TIA.

Take next 3 GWs into mind:

    Dzeko -->

    1) Lukaku
    2) Jelavic
    3) Fletcher
    4) Giroud

Sakho has just 1 good fixture..after that they face Chelsea and Arsenal..so that's why I don't want to get him.
Not interested in Austin or Kane

    For the draft game.

    Play 2 out of 3.

Mert (liv), Trippier (tot), Vert (BUR)

So if you own RVP you just captain him right? No big thinking there or...? Are people actually captaining Yaya? He is my vice atm

He's the standout choice for those that own him

The only concern is United not keeping hold of the ball, controlling games, creating chances like they used to (and like City, CFC, AFC still do).
Leaves them susceptible to an upset in what used to be big away wins.

Having said that if I had him, I'd surely be captaining him. Because that's kind of what you're paying for.

    Play - Wisdom (QPR-A) or Dummett (Sun-H)?

    Captain - Yaya (CPL-H) or Bony (Hul-A) ?

Leaning towards Bony for capn. Hull are pony and he's pretty reliable, but naturally, if Yaya does good it'll be a worthwhile gamble.

Exact same situation. Think I'll play Dummett and captain Yaya

Haha I'm leaning the opposite way. Dummett isn't a bad shout because Sunderland don't score much but West Brom don't concede much away, making Wisdom a potentiall Wise (hur hur) choice.
