QPR’s home hitman hogs the array of impressive numbers on show from the weekend, ably assisted by stellar showings from Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen. Elsewhere in our regular members’ statistical digest, we examine how Man City’s tactical tweaks influenced two of their key midfielders and analyse how a pair of returning United assets are hinting at major hauls as their minutes begin to build.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hello fellow DZers

    Help appreciated, what would you do with this bunch - 1FT, £1.4 ITB

    Szyczesney / Given
    Baines / Ivan / Zab / Clyne / Dummet

      Downgrade one of Ivan or Baines. Upgrade Fab to Yaya or Hazard.

    If Costa returns another mediocre score tomorrow I'm considering the following for an 8 point hit:

    Costa to Kane
    Boyd to Silva
    Duff to Zabaleta

    Opinions please...

        You know what will happen as soon as I drop Costa though!

        Just do think he is worth the money at the moment. Absolute average returns at the moment. Just think the funds could be distributed so much better.

        Would potentially leave the defender swap to week after to avoid the further 4 point hit.

          I personally don't think he's worth it at the moment. I may be proved wrong tomorrow but I doubt it at stoke. He just seems rubbish for assists, bps and bookings plus no pens. If u can hold off on the defender, can u field 3 at the back?

            I currently have Ivanovic Baines, Chambers and Yun at the back also. So hopefully... Just depends on the Kosceilny situation and any potential rotation... Baines is testing me at the minute but gonna keep until Jan wildcard at least as you just cannot predict when he could explode.

            Been meaning to get Duff out for ages but always find attacking changes to do instead.

            You must be over the moon with that ranking.

    Best move here chaps?

    A) Yun -> Baines/Zaba (benching Hutton)
    B) Carroll -> Giroud (1 week punt before switching to Austin/Tekkers)
    C) A&B (with Zaba) for a 4 pointer
    D) Save

    Hart
    Terry, Chambers, Hutton
    Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, Siggy
    Costa, Kane, Carroll

    Elliot, Downing, Wisdom, Yun

        Reckon a 1 week Giroud punt is worth a 4 pointer?

        How about:

        GW18: Yun & Carroll -> Baines & Tekkers (4 points)
        GW19: Chambers, Siggy & Costa -> Zaba, Silva & Austin (8 points)

    Deciding who to get rid of Costa or Baines has been hard for me but I decided it has to be Costa. He certainly won't start all the games over the Christmas period and Baines has good fixtures even with Mirallas there.

    Sakho>Benteke
    Costa>Giroud

    and banking 1.4M looks likely

          Yeah I'm just hoping for a single Costa goal tomorrow to make me happy! Options I have come up with are:

          1) Sakho>Benteke, Costa>Giroud
          2) Baines>Debuchy, Costa>Benteke
          3) Simply Sakho>Kane
          4) Sakho>Kane, Sigurdsson>Sterling, Baines>Zabaleta

          Rotating Sigurdsson and Austin
          I have 2FT by the way

    Part of me is thinking of going Sanchez to Yaya this week.

    IMO Sanchez isn't going to start 3/3 of the games over the xmas period and if he's going to be rested it's definitely going to be QPR at home....I think Wenger will use it as a good time to start Walcott...

    On the other hand with Yaya going to AFCON in Jan/with Citys injuries he is nailed to start a resurgent CIty's next 3 games......thoughts?

      I was gutted after losing Fabianski for him during my WC last week when Fab scored 8.

      Worked out well in the end 🙂

    Any arsenal experts here?

    Why did Debuchy play CB while Chambers play RB? Chambers supposed to be the utility man and Debuchy is a specialized RB.

    What does that mean when Kos is back fit?

      It means Chambers on the bench

        Arsene has obviously gone off Chambers as a centreback option
        Debuchy being a french boy will be number one right back

      Debuchy was v.good centre half last week vs. Newcastle and wins a lot of aerial duals. Perhaps Wenger trying to mould him into a back up centre half as opposed to having to play Monreal there again.

        Or just play Chambers there, as he is naturally a CB?

          May have been unsettled by Chambers display vs. Stoke and then when Debuchy filled in vs. Newcastle he actually looked pretty good.

      Probably because Sterling was false 9 so it would be better not to have Chambers directly exposed to him

    A. Sakho -> Benteke

    B. Siggy -> Sterling

      What do you think about Giroud, Benteke and Lukaku?

      Feels a bit risky to drop Lukaku before his home game against Stoke.

      I didn't see much of him vs. Villa to suggest there should be a rush for him. I was more impressed by Benteke tbh..

      I feel i should have some Man U but so uninspired to get any. Think i will wait to see how ADM is incorporated back in

        I have Tekkers and Austin. Love a striker gamble and he might be the man. His stats look good both for threat and creativity and he's a world class proven goalscorer. (Massive differential too)

          Andy Carroll has the same low ownership, a more secure place in the team, better fixtures (after this week) and is 3.5m cheaper. Something to ponder?

            Better fixtures? in what world?

            I do agree though that Carroll is a good option but a W Ham double up with Downing doesn't sound too appealing.

              Yeah, I might have been pushing the boundaries a bit with that particularcomment 😉 Still ARS, WBA, HULL are decent home matches. Like I say, just something to ponder.
