QPR’s home hitman hogs the array of impressive numbers on show from the weekend, ably assisted by stellar showings from Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen. Elsewhere in our regular members’ statistical digest, we examine how Man City’s tactical tweaks influenced two of their key midfielders and analyse how a pair of returning United assets are hinting at major hauls as their minutes begin to build.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Im getting cazorla this week and may even captain him. And im going to rotate him home and away with austin. Seems expensive for a rotation but no point having 5m in the bank and i still need to upgrade both rooney and lukaku to cheaper options

      Rotating cazorla is crazy if you ask me

      1. Amateur Pundit Zan

        I could get bolassie instead who also rates well with austin but i dont think that will improve my score.

        Downing, kane etc who would be the perfect rotators have all the same home fixtures as qpr

        "Hear, hear" is an expression used as a short, repeated form of 'hear him, hear him'...
        It represents a listener's agreement with the point being made by a speaker.

      If a player accumulates five cautions between the opening day of the playing season and 31 December in the same season, he will be suspended automatically for one match.

      If a player accumulates ten cautions between the opening day of the playing season and the second Sunday of April in the same season, he will be suspended automatically for two matches.

    I'm doing an awful lot better this season when I haven't been able to follow players' price rises/falls.
    When the price change websites weren't working at the start I thought it would be disastrous.
    But now I think maybe it's better not to know.
    Been able to make transfers (mostly) on fixtures and form rather than maximising team value.

    Feels crazy given his current form, but are these reasonable arguments for getting rid of Downing?

    1) I have Carroll and Downing and would rather not play either this week for che, and then they have ARS the week after which isn't great.

    2) None of the strikers I'm looking at (Austin, Tekkers etc) for the run in to the Jan WC have a decent fixture this week, which puts me off trading Carroll out this week

    3) I plan to WC as early as possible (since I still have the other WC) and WHU have horrible fixtures, so I'll probably be getting rid of at least 1 (probably both) of Downing and Carroll anyway.

    Front 8 is:

    Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, Downing, Siggy
    Costa, Carroll, Kane

      yeah that's madness foe me mate. Arsenal can't defend so I wouldn't count that in as a poor fixture. As you mentioned... his form in general is just too good.

      Makes sense if you're not going to play him next two gameweeks and then play winter Wildcard very early jan. Know you have another Wildcard (don't know how you managed that!) but unless your team is a mess, you may want to delay pulling the trigger as there are players returning from injury, ACON, ac, transfer window etc

        Cheers. Are there many big players returning from injury though? The only ones that spring to mind are Aguero, Walcott and maybe Ramsey, and we should have enough info by 10 Jan to make a decision on them I think.

        Fixtures also swing for a few teams in GW21 (e.g. ARS & MUN get good, MCY & WHU get poor)

      I'm not convinced.

      Downing and Carroll are both bang on form.
      West Ham have won their last 3 home games and have beaten Liverpool and Man City at Home this season - ie so Arsenal wont scare them.
      After Arsenal they have WBA and HULL at home in the next three.

      Are you sure you dont have a more pressing transfer issue??

        Fair points AB - this is my squad right now. No major issues so think I'm between these:

        A) Yun -> Zaba
        B) Downing -> Silva/Sterling
        C) Save

        Whatcha think? High on my wish list over the next 2 weeks are Sterling, Silva & Austin.

        Hart
        Terry, Chambers, Hutton
        Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, Siggy
        Costa, Kane, Carroll

        Elliot, Downing, Wisdom, Yun
        Bank 4.4m, 1 freebie

          Nice team. If it was me, Id probably wait for news on Siggy. If he is available I'd save the transfer and then look at Siggy --> Silva/Sterling next week. That would leave you a free trade to deal with any injury / suspension.

            Cheers. I think that's definitely the sensible route.

            I have a feeling Sterling and Silva will both do very well over the next 3 weeks though. so I am tempted with this plan (assuming Siggy is fit this week):

            GW18: Downing -> Sterling (bench Carroll)
            GW19: Siggy & Carroll -> Silva & Austin [4 points]
            GW20: Either Chambers -> Kolarov or Eriksen -> Nasri (a 1 week punt before I WC)

              Yeah, I like the look of Silva and Sterling too. Good luck with that plan. I'm still not sure that Downing and Carroll deserve the chop - but Im a Hammers fan so my view is probably biased!

    What website do you all normally use to check out the fixtures that are non premier league? I use BBC most of the time and the trouble is you need to select the teams individually.

    Can someone please explain the price protection concept? For example, why is Austin protected now? Thanks.

    Does anyone feel that with Agbonlahor suspended, Tekker will do well being the lone striker now

        Delph,

        i personally find that Agbon makes things difficult for Tekker...

      I don't think it impact him that much. Agbonlahor floats around and doesn't sit too centrally
