Four more players toppled off the Suspension Tightrope this week, with a couple of culpable parties earning their fifth yellow card during Sunday’s Tyne-Wear derby. Cheick Tiote is unavailable for Newcastle’s upcoming trip to Old Trafford, whilst the Black Cats’ Connor Wickham sits out a plum home encounter with Hull.

The Tigers’ midfielder Jake Livermore will also miss that Stadium of Light encounter and Southampton will travel to Palace on Boxing Day without the services of skipper Jose Fonte, as Ronald Koeman prepares for yet another defensive re-shuffle.

In terms of the Tightrope, another three players made their way onto four yellows for the season – Santi Cazorla, John O’Shea and Erik Pieters are the latest new entries, taking the total to 32 players. Pieters’ inclusion means Stoke now have four players just a single card away from a ban, more than any other side.

O’Shea’s team-mate Lee Cattermole is now up to eight yellows in just 16 league appearances after being booked in the North East derby. The midfield enforcer had picked up a total of two reds and nine yellows across the previous couple of campaigns due to a lack of pitch time but is clearly keen to atone for lost time. If Cattermole is cautioned in both of the next two, he’ll face the ignominy of toppling from the Tightrope twice before the New Year is upon us.

Elsewhere, another two players fell foul of the referee’s wrath in Gameweek 17. Liverpool’s Fabio Borini made an impression for all the wrong reasons against Arsenal at Anfield. Replacing Lazar Markovic midway through the second period, the Italian collected a pair of yellows in just 16 minutes and will be unavailable for Friday’s trip to Burnley.

Villa’s Gabby Agbonlahor was due to serve a three-match ban after being sent off for serious foul play during last Saturday’s home draw with United. Earlier this afternoon, the FA overturned that suspension and the forward is available for selection with immediate effect.

Remaining on the sidelines are Hull midfielder Tom Huddlestone (sitting out the second of a four-match suspension) and Villa’s Kieran Richardson, who is serving the second of a three-match ban this Friday.

Paul Lambert welcomes back Alan Hutton and Tom Cleverley, though, as the midlands outfit look to push on from the draw with United. Southampton trio Morgan Schneiderlin, Victor Wanyama and Florin Gardos are also available for selection as Ronald Koeman’s side head to Selhurst Park.

Mario Balotelli is back for Liverpool’s visit to Burnley after serving a one-match ban for his recent social media posts. The FA have revealed that they decided against dishing out a longer sentence due to the striker’s sincere and honest explanation.

Is that relevant though? Doesn't seem to stop Fabregas and neither did it stop Lampard knabbing 200+pts per season. 😕

A good option this week, for sure. At least you know he will play and he's always likely to be in the points, especially at home. On paper there are a lot of options this week, but who knows who will actually play...

I think you're speaking bit of crap, mate. You say if Sanchez is to be rested he won't feature at all. Do you think Bony was dropped against Hull? By your theory if he was rested then he wouldn't have featured at all.

Sanchez was dropped in CL game. He's fine to start.

1st of all Chelsea's fixture this GW is more tougher than Arsenal's. Secondly Hazard is in better form than Sanchez & looks less tired than the Arsenal man. Thirdly Hazard has played in all the PL & UCL games (except Matchday 6) he has been available for so he has been very instrumental for the Chelsea attack. Schurrle is there, yeah but he can't do the work Eden does. Let me remind you again it's Chelsea vs Westham & Arsenal vs QPR.

Sanchez looks fine to me. Schurrle can do enough.

You still didn't answer my question. I guess you realised it didn't make sense. A player can be rested & yet feature from the bench.

Yes but I think if Sanchez is rested he won't be on the bench,

As you say, arsenal should smash qpr, so even if he was on bench, there's no point bringing him on.

                Nxt question please..,

Thoughts on benching? Any moves you see I could make? Sort of a strange midfield, but coming off the hottest week of the season for me.

    Hart - (Eliot)
    Zaba - Terry - O'Shea - (Wisdom) - (Colo)
    Milner - Sanchez - Fabs - Siggy - (Downing)
    Austin - RVP - Benteke

    Would you do
    Toure, Boyd , Costa
    To
    Fabs, silva and benteke

Thoughts behind it is fabs is better fantasy player than Costa
Silva and toure could go either warm, but toure has yellow cards and Africa journey
Benteke has good run of games coming up.
Also all three should play every game through xmas period. But would also give me eight decent players should one of team get rested.
    For -4

I'd save my free transfer and look to get rid of Sakho and Rooney . You could downgrade Baines for a hit next week and use the funds

Would reconsider the (C) on Hazard, with him being doubtful. Hard to say really though, Ivanovic is due some attacking points and Baines might easily punish sellers, saying that Zaba looks sweet although the rotation risk always looms over him. I would probably save if I were you.

    Pantilmon(Schmeichel)
    Ivanovic-Baines-Chambers-Wisdom-Hutton
    Sigurdsson-Hazard-Silva-Downing-Sanchez
    Austin-Costa-Benteke

    2FT, how does:

    Sterling > Hazard
    Hutton > Zabaleta

    Sound?

    Thus playing:

    Pantilmon
    Zabaleta-Ivanovic-Baines-Chambers
    Sanchez(C)-Silva-Sterling-Sigurdsson
    Benteke-Costa

    Yay or nay?

Seems rash getting rid of hazard. I'd be more tempted to drop costa and still get zaba in

    Boyd/Bertrand to sterling/Oshea or kolo

    Costa/Boyd to giroud/sterling
