We go head-to-head with Paddy once again this Gameweek and place our faith in a trio of in-form players with tasty looking fixtures on their Boxing Day menus. Arsenal’s resurgent frontman, Man City’s little magician and Tottenham’s Danish maestro are all called upon in our bid for a Merry Christmas.

Our first port of call is the Emirates Stadium where Arsenal face a QPR side that have lost every away match this season and scored just three times on their travels. Four goals in six appearances since returning to injury brings Olivier Giroud into contention for this one, and despite the form of Charlie Austin, we’re going to back the hosts to win this one comfortably – with Paddy offering 13/2 on Giroud to score two or more and Arsene Wenger’s side to collect a clean sheet, we’re shelling out £3 on this one.

Next up we head to the Hawthorns as West Brom host champions City. The odds are on Manuel Pellegrini’s side to deliver at both ends of the pitch in the Midlands match – they’re looking for a seventh straight win here and have conceded just a single goal in five. Paddy are willing to offer 11/2 on David Silva to score and City to earn clean sheet and we’re backing the little Spaniard to get amongst the goals once again – we part company with another £3.

Our final cash is splashed on Tottenham’s trip to struggling Leicester. Christian Eriksen’s sparkling form looks too good to ignore here – the Dane has scored in two of his last three away appearances, with only Chelsea keeping him at bay. With Paddy prepared to offer 8/1 on Eriksen to score and the north London outfit to keep out their hosts, we make this our bet of the week and hand over our final £4.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

    Adrián
    Azpi Hutton Demi
    Sánchez Touré Siggy Hazard
    Bony RvP Kane
    (Gilks Boyd S.Taylor Yun)

    A) The plan... Adrian+Yun -> Pantillimon+O'Shea (-4):
    - Improved fixtures this GW (che/swa v HUL/HUL with Hutton benched)
    - Hutton and O'Shea rotate until the wildcard
    - Gives me a full bench

    B) Something else/save? (If this, why?)

Any opinions would be great. 🙂

Save because you have 11 strong starters, two outfielders on the bench who should play, so nothing worth a hit. Plus then you'll have 2 FTs in two weeks time to make stronger moves when fixtures really turn.

        • 12 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

Yeah 2FT would be nice.. Turn for who?

e.g. City two home games, Villa two home games, Sterling could suddenly be the best player to have, you'll probably want Austin

            • 12 Years
            11 years, 3 months ago

I doubt I'll get any more City or Villa to be honest. And Liverpool?! 😕 Not brave enough for that! 😛 Thanks for the advice. 🙂

Was going to say just Yun to O'Shea but assume you need the cash. Yeah why not, take the hit.

        • 12 Years
        11 years, 3 months ago

        Yeah, short. Yun+0.4m = bugger all! 😆

I'd say Pants can outscore Adrian before WC though, so it feels fairly sensible for someone who takes a lot of hits. Thanks Mario. 🙂

Pants gets more for a clean sheet, and more when he concedes. Those save points will do it, imo.

Chelsea's fixtures are the worst of all teams until the end of Jan. You'd be better off losing Costa for somebody else and not getting another CHE player.

Screw it. I will steady my knees. If Hazard misses the game, Yaya is an able vc and there is also a chance Sakho come on from my bench and scores. Its probably all mind games from Mourinho as he did with Costa twice before. We all know how that ended up. Plus, I feel Yaya will get his 5th YC today so an extra FT will be handy.

Personally I think both Hazard & Sanchez will start but Hazard is more secure for the armband pick as it's likely that either he starts or not in the squad at all. Sanchez is very likely to be in the squad- it's just a question whether he starts or pull a Bony.
