Danny Welbeck is a doubt for Arsenal’s visit to St Mary’s. Everton’s Tim Howard is out for up to six weeks with a calf injury. Palace skipper Mile Jedinak is unavailable for the trip to Villa due to the upcoming Asia Cup. Yaya Toure confirms he was rested for the weekend draw at Burnley and is not injured, whilst James Tomkins misses the Hammers’ home clash with West Brom due to suspension.

Arsene Wenger has concerns over Danny Welbeck as Arsenal head to Southampton. The Gunners boss has conceded the forward may miss out due to a thigh problem, though Tomas Rosicky returns to the squad after being rested at West Ham.

Ciaran Clark (back) and Tom Cleverley (foot) will be assessed for Aston Villa’s home match with Crystal Palace, whilst Joe Cole is back in training and available for selection. Fabian Delph is ruled out for three matches due to suspension.

Palace are without skipper Mile Jedinak for the Villa clash – the midfielder has joined up with the Australian national team ahead of the Asia Cup.

Yaya Toure has refuted Manuel Pellegrini’s suggestion that he missed the weekend clash with Burnley due to a groin injury. The Ivorian has confirmed he was merely rested for the 2-2 stalemate and hopes to be involved against Sunderland.

Tim Howard is sidelined for up to six weeks with a calf complaint for Everton. Phil Jagielka, John Stones and James McCarthy will be assessed prior to the trip to Hull, though Tony Hibbert, Leon Osman, Steven Pienaar and Darron Gibson all remain out.

Bojan is set for hamstring scans ahead of Stoke’s home encounter with Man United. Mark Hughes has conceded he expects the Spaniard to miss out, though Jon Walters is expected to fully recover from the illness that forced him onto the bench last time out. The Potters’ boss has revealed he is set to contact the Senegal FA in an attempt to postpone Mame Biram Diouf’s departure to the African Cup of Nations until after the Gameweek 21 clash with Arsenal.

Seb Larsson has returned to training after sustaining a weekend ankle injury and “has a chance”, according to Gus Poyet. Liam Bridcutt won’t be risked, though, after he was forced off with a head injury on Sunday.

James Tomkins is ruled out through suspension for West Ham’s home clash with West Brom, though Carl Jenkinson is available again – he was ineligible to face parent club Arsenal on Sunday afternoon.

Swansea have confirmed Wilfried Bony and Ki Sung-yueng will play their final matches before departing for international duties tomorrow. The Welsh club will be without Jefferson Montero for up to a month after the Ecuadorian suffered a hamstring injury.

Ander Herrera and Adnan Januzaj are both back in training ahead of United’s trip to the Britannia, Louis van Gaal confirmed yesterday.

Leonardo Ulloa is available for Leicester’s trip to Anfield – the forward was replaced due to fatigue at the weekend, Nigel Pearson has confirmed. Andy King is sidelined for the Foxes and, whilst Jamie Vardy is available after serving a one-match ban, Paul Konchesky is sidelined for a similar timeframe.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Mid table to aspiring top 10 success is built on an organised and robust back 4 and holding mids and a manager who is a capable tactician. The success of Pulis and Koeman at their respective clubs says it all. WBA should therefore overperform in the second half of the season so Wisdom is staying in my team and I'm getting Foster in my wildcard team.

I think Koeman & Pulis are about as different as managers can be.

fwiw I don't necessarily think that Pulis will be a success at WBA

Sterling seems well in front of Yaya, but Silva looks a better choice than both!

The betting odds are different from probability odds.

Yea but that why you can't just multiply the betting odds - You're implying 2/1 for a goal + assist and 5/2 for just an assist?

Exactly....how do I work out probabilty of an event from the odds?

        1. mipola
          • 13 Years
          11 years, 3 months ago

If A has 20% chance of success and B has 10% chance of success. Probability of both events succeeding are

          0.2 * 0.1 = 0.02 or 2%

So are betting odds useless then, as they give odds of less than evens? Hence the corresponding probability is >1 and this can't be for probability

            1. BabyB
              • 12 Years
              11 years, 3 months ago

Not useless but can only give an indication.

Bookies will alter odds based on the popularity of the bets as well as what they think the probability is.

Casuals will always back the big players even if they are off form for example.

I think we're on the same page here. I'm agreeing with you but you need probability odds before you multiply (can't do it with the betting ones)

You have to get implied odds for both

In that case I think about 16%

Odds are very different to implied probablilty. Odds effectively just show potential winnings. To get implied probabilities you do: denominator/(denominator + numerator)

      Its actualy 80% x 40%
So there is 32% that he will score and assist
      So 3/1
      Right?

          And thats 5,5/1

    Morning all,

I’m looking for a bit of guidance on my team which, having had a brief charge up my mini league, has somewhat stalled in the last 2 gameweeks. My team looks alright but the lack of City players is costing me.

    Team is:

    Pantillimon

Terry; (2 from - Chambers; Hutton; Wisdom; S Taylor)

    Eriksen; Downing; Hazard; Sanchez (Boyd)

    Costa; RVP; Austin

I have 2 FT and 2 million in the bank. I need to boot Chambers at some point and I’d like to bring in Silva - though my 4 midfielders are in the top 6 - but I find Eriksen quite frustrating to own. I can dump RVP - though he is a differential in my leagues - but maybe now is the time to go 5 in midfield (though Boyd is quite a handy sub)?

As you can see I’m struggling to be decisive here so would appreciate any guidance!

    Cheers

Giroud gonna be first choice, and looks great on his comeback. Arsenal always finish strongly from memory. Aguero needs no explanation 😉

2FT and 0.3 ITB...Not sure what to do? I dont want to waste a FT but cant really afford any decent defender upgrades. Maybe elliot? HELP!

    Hart (Elliot)
    Chambers Dummett Taylor (Bertrand Wisdom)
    Downing Yaya(C) Hazard Sanchez Siggy
    Costa Bony (Kane)

Similar situation to me. Need to keep the 2FT for next week to get rid of Bony & Yaya unless one goes now. Chambers needs to go. Pick any short term defender with a wildcard round the corner.

I am thinking about benching Sanchez and playing Kane... Madness?
Thinking is that Southampton away is not easy and Sanchez looking tired...how important is Sneiderln to the Southampton defensive setup?
Tottenham will probably lose but Kane will get a goal against Chelsea at WHL.

@ Tim Yaya > Sterling (c) for free?
Concerned Zaba may be benched and I'll end up with Azpi/Hutton/Wisdom available because of Moore, saying that Moore (4.4) > Saylir/Bavies doesn't fill me with hope,
Where you at with (c) btw?

Still on sterling if I bring him in. Saw the email, would've replied if I had an answer for you 😛 Yaya could cause some damage before he leaves, I really don't know. Second move doesn't really help you this week so Id save if you don't get Sterling

    Hi lads,

    I'm thinking of:

Eriksen off - Coutinho/Sterling/Lallana in for one week and then get Eriksen back next GW.

I'm just a little bit worried that Liverpool front 3 can be rotated.

    What do you think?

    Thanks!

I currently have Kane ahead of Siggy and Hutton ahead of Azpi (Downing, Terry, and Guzan already in the XI).

    Thoughts?

I'm tempted by Lallana, think Sterling might be rested vs Leicester.

But out of these 3 Silva ofc.

If i bought Yaya for 10.8 and his value is now 10.9 but is still 10.8 in my team, will I lose 0.1 tonight when he drops?

    1. tw
      • 14 Years
      11 years, 3 months ago

      you bought him for 10.8
      his current price is 10.9

but your sell value is 10.8 - this is because your sell value is the price you bought him for + half of his price increase (rounded down). so if his current price was 11 then your sell price would be 10.9 but since his current price is 10.9 your sell price is 10.8

if he drops his current price will be 10.8 and your sell price will be 10.8

      make any sense?
