This evening, we roll out the quarter-final draw of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during the seventh round ties.

With a score of 93 points, 66irons emerged from round seven as the top scoring manager, with his decision to captain Alexis Sanchez proving key. He earns himself £25 worth of free bets from Paddy Power and will now face bobbyg in the last eight.

United Nations, who has two top Gameweek score prizes already during the tournament and sits in 383rd spot overall, marches on. He now squares up to Harts Hotspurs, who is ranked 243,341 places behind his weekend opponent.

The highest ranked manager left in the competition is 73rd placed mjfdept, who faces 780th ranked Momalpashands in round eight. The remaining eighth round tie will see Wolverine take on CMIFLFC. This is another close encounter with just 528 places separating the pair.

Among our remaining eight contenders mjfdept is the only one wielding his winter wildcard this week, with the rest still to play it.

The full list of seventh round results can be found here, while the eighth round draw in full can be found here.

Good luck to those involved in the weekend’s action. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Can anybody remember whether Fantasy Football used to incorporate FA Cup performances too? I seem to remember it did in the early years but may be mistaken? Can understand that in these days of sponsorship it will be difficult to incorporate FAC and EPL in one game. However, it would be fun to do so! Thoughts?

for now Wisdom and Trippier have good enough fixtures to not play Wasilewski.

So I'd go for ADM captain option and explosive

Seriously. Not sure how certain they're to play, but Baird seems to be in for serious points if he can keep that starting spot, and I would not bank on West Ham's defence on a longer run. Downing is to keep, however.

Ok so I have downing in my WC, if Chadli rises I won't be able to afford him, worth just getting him in now?? Chadli better than Downing in the long run? Already have Kane

I wildcarded last week & it was a poor result. I have 1 ft & 6.0itb so after a bit of advice,

    Foster (Panti)
    Terry, Bertrand, Trippier (Hutton, PVA)
    Hazard, Fab, Cazorla, Chadli (Boyd)
    Rooney, Giroud, Kane

    Which option is best:
    (a) Cazorla out, Sanchez in. Will Sanchez score that well v MCI as I read he is a flat track. Cazorla played very well v Stoke but it didn't reflect in points.
    (b) Giroud out, Ings in to take advantage of fixtures.
    (c) Giroud out, Aguero in. Aguero has 2 hard fixtures & it might be too early for him.
    (d) Rooney out, Aguero in. Same as (c) re Aguero. Also Rooney has nice fixtures & with RVP maybe out & Falcao a ? then Rooney could play more advanced.
    (e) Giroud & Boyd out, Ings & Sanchez in for a -4 hit
    (f) Save ft.

Thoughts appreciated & thanks in advance.

Aguero has to come in at some point. Arsenal have yet to really prove that they are as defensively sound as last year. But I understand that these are hardly prime fixtures
