With gremlins in the machine, the clock was ticking on this week’s ScoutCast as Granville and I are hurried into service.

Displaying all the urgency and determination of Ade Akinfenwa at the end of season buffet, we waste no time in driving through the ScoutCast regulars, whilst weighing the merits of when to swoop for a certain “essential” Argentine.

While this week’s low fat episode may come as a treat for some, we’re working towards a return to the full fat, high cholesterol live Hangout from next week. Keep ‘em peeled for news on that.

        I don't think it's controversial at all. It's a good 3-5-2 squad.

        I just don't like the choice of a Burnley defender. I'd probably downgrade Trippier to Wollscheid or Chester and upgrade Jones to Fonte. But that's only my preference.

          Cheers for the advice. I just love United's fixture list and think they will do well defensively. Just a hunch. Trippier is a short term punt that will most likely become Chambers or Alderweireld in a few weeks. I'll think it over 😀

        Think 3-5-2 is the way to go. So many good midfield options, and Bojan is a decent enabler. Jones is a punt based on fixtures, but i'll check out other options. Cheers for input mate!

    Why is everyone buying Stoke defenders? Do you guys actually think they ll keep clean sheets just because their fixtures are a bit easy. One of the worst defensive teams so far this season.

        Yep. I have just taken a 2 week pre-wildcard punt on a new GK - I didn't like the fixtures for either of mine. My choice would have been Begovic if he wasn't so near to a price fall.

        Really Doos? They are terrible at set pieces and a very leaky defenders. Wouldn't Sunderland, West Brom, Villa or even Burnley be a safer bet?

      I loved my solid front eight the last few weeks.

      So much more flexibility and you almost don't cars if someone gets injured.

      That said the money spent elsewhere is used in your XI every week.

                Fairly similar team to my WC draft, but thing is lack of Costa allows Terry and an extra Southampton defender, plus ADM/Fab instead of Silva. But this draft bound to change.

    I've got Haz and Fabs in midfield with Costa up front. One FT and thinking about bringing Rooney in for Costa for the next 2. Costa has swa MCY whereas Rooney has qpr LEI. Then I'll decide about keeping Rooney or going back to Costa.

    Does that make any sense? I'm thinking the recent lack of United attacking threat (mentioned in Captain Sensible article) ought to persuade LVG to task Rooney with getting forward more.

    - Decided to go with the expensive strikers up front, I got man love for Costa
    - Want ADM, think he will do well
    - Not really sure about the double up on Spurs with Chadli and Kane, but they do have a good fixture this week
    - GKs have good rotation
    - only question is about the defence - Berty will play every week with 2 cheapies around him in a 4-3-3

    1. Should I take ADM out for Terry to boost the defence? Which MID would you recommend then
    2. Are the cheapie defenders ok? dunno how about Cameron, could change him for PVA

    Any comments appreciated!

                    Very nice.. bit gamble with Walcott but he should start getting close to full match fitness soon you would think..

                    One of the main reasons I went for Aguero + Costa is that I want a easy transition Costa -> Sturridge in 3-4 GWs

    Guys please RMWCT - I was once ranked in top 1K and now i'm down to 26k (a lot to do with never having Sanchez probably). I need to get back into the top 10k.

      It's a good point. I think this could prove to be a good option.

      It's down to choices- crouch is prob best bet for Stoke this weekend but nobody will have him taking up one of the three slots.
      Same with midfield- with the budget available who would be replaced?

      I think Tadic could be a good shout but question marks over holding down his spot

      I am interested to see how low Hazard is ranking on the captain poll and popular opinion... He has only drawn blank 9 times this season, and interestingly one two of these have come in succession -

      Of note, after each of his other 7 blanks he has gone: 9,7,11,10,11,9,14

      I know this doesn't take into account home and away fixtures but I, still massively impressed by those numbers and all it really does is confirm one thing - you can't hold the man down for long

            He'll almost certainly play this week. But Zouma will likely get some 'easier' games between now and the end of season.

            Mourinho gradually brought Varane into the RM team at age 20. He's now doing the same with Zouma (who quite a few Chelsea fans think is better than Cahill anyway).

            If you want a gametime secure Chelsea D the only choices are JT (98% secure until the title is settled barring injury) and Ivan (90% secure). All the others are more likely to be rotated at some stage.

            I looked at Terry, Courtois and having Skrtel, Moreno or Clyne instead of Ivanovich.
            That would save a little, but I feel Courtois needs some back up for his occasional rest or possible WK 27 blank.
            So the spare money you save goes on maybe Krul as back up. Is it really worth doing that?

      Their fixtures from GW24 to GW32 seem pretty sweet for CSs. Problem for me is that I'm having hard time being able to afford Terry without making other downgrades in defense.

      Is Azpi too much of a risk? Christmas rotation is over, but on the other hand Chelsea are still competing in C1C, FA Cup and UCL so most weeks have 2 games...

      I guess I answered my own question 🙁

          Not sure with upcoming UCL games, Luis might get some easier home PL games. For example

          Feb 17th PSG-Chelsea (UCL)
          Feb 21st Chelsea-Burnley (PL)

          I could see Azpi playing that UCL game and Luis playing against Burnley... and those easy home games are exactly when you want your defenders to play!

          That being said, I'm still contemplating whether I could keep Azpi on my WC next week...

          It doesn't work that way. Mourinho doesn't select his team to suit FPL managers.

          He told Chelsea TV earlier in the season re. Cech/Courtois that "it won't be 'this competition is for Petr and this is for Thibault'." He will rotate as he sees best. Same applies to Azpi/Luis.

      This reminds me of the good old days of last season, with the Rooney-Aguero-Suarez frontlines.

      You can't have those now because of so many good MFs. Last season, there weren't that many great top MFs (Yaya, Hazard) and with emergence of cheap, reliable MFs like Ramsey and Sterling.

      This time, guys like Sanchez, Hazard, AdM are there so 3 big forwards doesn't make sense.

            Haha, yeah. I so wanted to go with that frontline at that start of the season that you are going with. Just brings an air of assurity.

            I am a big fan of hard-hitting frontlines, never liked when Kun got injured last season and I had to revert to Negredo/Lukaku etc.

            However, this season you just can't ignore the MFs. If those three do come in form though, would be alot of fun. I already can't seem to convince myself to downgrade Costa to Austin.
