We place our faith in Tottenham’s man-of-the-moment and a couple of fit-again, Manchester-based South Americans in this week’s attempt to get the better of Paddy.

We turn to Tottenham’s home encounter with Sunderland, as Harry Kane looks to continue the form that has racked up six goals in as many league appearances. Rested for the midweek cup win over Burnley, he’s set to lead the line against a side that have blanked in seven of their ten road trips – with Paddy offering 9/1 on Kane to score two or more goals and Spurs to keep a clean sheet, we’re more than willing to make this our bet of the week and throw £4 their way.

City’s home clash against Arsenal brings Sergio Aguero onto our radar. Given that the corresponding fixture finished 6-3 to the champions last season, there could be plenty of goals in this one yet again. Paddy are willing to offer 11/1 on Aguero to score two or more goals and Man City to keep a clean sheet and with Vincent Kompany back for the hosts, we’re sticking our necks out and handing over another £3.

Our final bet is kept for Loftus Road, as United face a QPR side unbeaten in seven in front of their own fans. Louis van Gaal will be demanding a response after last week’s dire display against Southampton and with Paddy offering 5/1 on Angel di Maria to score and the Red Devils to keep a clean sheet, we’re prepared to part with our final £3.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Who do you rate as a better prospect for Soton now - Bertrand or Fonte? The way I see it -

Bertrand - IF played as a LB has greater assist potential, equal CS potential (obviously) and has been one of the best defenders for value and total score this season. If Koeman continued with 3-5-2 he could continue at CB greatly reducing appeal

Fonte - 0.2m cheaper, greater goal threat and BAPS magnet scoring almost as many as Bertrand and Clyne combined. Probably less likely to have as many big hauls as Bertrand but score consistently well

Thoughts chaps? Who are you going for?

I'm currently on WC with Clyne (had since he was cheap) and juggling between Fonte and Bertrand. Would the fact that it was teaming up one of the two with Clyne have any influence on who you picked?

Question for all WC'ers having a front line of Austin Kane Kun and spending elsewhere....

Aren't you creating a massive headache getting any other mid/high end striker in...?

Spreading that wealth could just create many point hits if Kane/Austin gets injured, suspended, or goes off the boil.

    1. Jafalad
      • 16 Years
      11 years, 1 month ago

It's only going to take a 4 point hit to correct matters by swapping a mid for a fwd. Hardly worth worrying about.

Fact is, right now, Kane, Kun, Kaustin is the forward line to have.

      1. Chrissy Waddle - 2025/26

Not saying don't get them, but do you keep some money aside to allow flexibility...?

Nope - just get the best team out there right now. I never keep money back. I feel that's a wasted tactic.

For me, I have to do 2 Transfers for that
Downgrade Fabregas or Di Maria to Boyd
      Austin upgrade to Diego Costa
Don't think that's a huge tinkering to do, 2 moves
Could be even done for a 4 point hit, or just FT's

    3. Jafooli
      • 14 Years
      11 years, 1 month ago

That's why I've gone Augero - Costa - Kane, more flexible and still a very decent attack.

    4. Diva
      • 11 Years
      11 years, 1 month ago

I'm not wildcarding, but I have that front line. I also have £9m invested in keepers, a £24.5m sale-price defence, the top four midfielders and enough in the bank to switch Kane to any forward except RVP.

    5. dush64

Still think that's the best lineup for now, but will keep it flexible in case other expensive options come up.

The plan is to save a transfer next week so I have 2FT each week. Can then get in Costa/Sturridge by downgrading a mid.

well i do have foster/hamer right now (on wc) but don't see why i should keep. the only advantage would be to start him over foster this week...after that he is just a liability and my hill as backup would be much better i think

More bonus potential at the back too... Costa is consistent but not explosive... Kane or Austin for example could easily equal his points outlay til the end of the season.

    2. Mr Smith
      • 15 Years
      11 years, 1 month ago

I sit in the camp which thinks Costa will really push on in the 2nd half of the season. He is clearly getting changes and could have had more than a couple of goals last game. I think we'll see a resurgence in the 2nd half of the season.

I also predict Terry won't score another 3 goals in the latter part of the season, not even 2.

Yeah but Terry/Ivan a bonus whore when CHE don't concede. Costa has to score more than one for any baps to happen. I want more for that sort of money.

Also predicting more for Costa but less for the defence is pure guesswork, the stats tell a differnet story.

Not true, take away Terrys goals and he's only got bonus on 2 occasions when Chelsea have kept a cleanie. Azpi is the Chelsea bap whore when they keep a cleanie.

If my prediction about Costa is true then he will be in line for more of the bonus than he has achieved so far.

Actually, same with Ivan...only 2 games has he got bonus when he hasn't assisted or scored. Hardly a bap whore.
