Our post-Gameweek look at the new injuries sustained over the weekend brings worrying news for Sam Allardyce as a trio of Hammers players limped off at Liverpool. Brendan Rodgers eases fears over his captain’s weekend absence, though Stoke have concerns over Ryan Shawcross once again.

Chelsea
Willian was replaced on 79 minutes of last night’s draw with City at Stamford Bridge after picking up an injury, according to the club’s official website.

Crystal Palace
In his first appearance since Gameweek 16, Marouane Chamakh lasted just 24 minutes before being forced off in Palace’s home loss to Everton with a suspected broken nose. Alan Pardew remains optimistic that the Moroccan will be back in time for next week’s trip to the King Power Stadium:

”The loss of Cham was crucial today, his guile and experience around the box would have been important. He’s got a broken nose we fear, so fingers crossed he doesn’t get my cold. He wasn’t concussed, but it was a heavy blow to the nose. But I think he’ll be okay for Leicester.”

Liverpool
Brendan Rodgers allayed fears over Steven Gerrard’s absence from yesterday’s win overWest Ham, with the Reds skipper expected to return for the midweek FA Cup replay against Bolton:

“It was just precautionary, really. After the game the other night, his hamstring was tight. We’ve got a lot of games over the coming months, so we didn’t want to risk it when we have other players that are fresh.”

Southampton
Lloyd Isgrove was a late withdrawal from the Saints squad that lost to Swansea today, meaning Ronald Koeman could only name six subs in the 1-0 defeat.

Stoke
The Potters skipper Ryan Shawcross lasted just 41 minutes of the 3-1 win over QPR before being forced off through injury.

Sunderland
Wes Brown missed the Black Cats’ 2-0 win over Burnley on Saturday after failing to prove his fitness upon returning to training, confirmed Black Cats boss Gus Poyet:

“Wes trained for a couple of days and it is nothing serious, so it is just about making sure he is 100% so that when we throw him in he is ready because I can tell you that it is very hard. It is great for us because we now have a big squad and I can refresh the team if I need to, but of course the ones that performed at 3pm against Burnley will have a better chance next week.”

Swansea
Marvin Emnes lasted just 15 minutes of this afternoon’s trip to Southampton before being withdrawn due to injury. Garry Monk has further worries on the flank after Emnes’ replacement Mo Barrow was stretchered off towards the end of the 1-0 win. Leon Britton missed today’s clash due to illness, according to the club’s official website.

West Ham
Sam Allardyce is counting the cost of yesterday’s loss to Liverpool after a trio of players were forced off through injury at Anfield. The Hammers boss saw centre-halves James Collins and Winston Reid both limp off with hamstring injuries, whilst Andy Carroll picked up a knew problem in the 2-0 defeat. Post-match, Allardyce rolled out an update:

Those three coming off has thrown us into a major crisis at the minute injury-wise and you can’t expect to come to a place like Liverpool and win when those things go against you. In all fairness to Ginge, because of the injuries we had in defence [in the build-up] he tried to come in and get through this game himself, but his hamstring injury had obviously re-occurred by half-time.

Allardyce also confirmed that midfielder Cheick Kouyate missed out after returning from international duties with Senegal nursing a back injury.

Re. Cazorla vs other AFC mids

Is it 5 of his last 6 goals as pens?
    That's unsustainable in fantasy terms.

For me both Ozil and Ramsey - as well as Sanchez - will outscore Cazorla between now and end of season by a margin.
(Ramsey is a radar tweak away from goals. Be surprised if he wasn't scoring like he was last season within 2-3 games).

Walcott would too but for me he'll get the least mins (for now)

They are winning pens like Liverpool last season..form players that draw fouls in the box

Before this run of pens we couldn't buy a penalty... Could easily hit that trend again.
But this is a good point, there's a reason the pens are being won.

Then again the same players were there for the run without pens

Who's the best Bertrand replacement? Also is it too risky to go without Sanchez?

    Foster
    Terry PVA Bertrand* (kosc) (Baird)
    Hazard Sterling ADM Walcott (Boyd)
    Giroud Kane Aguero

    Cheers guys!

I have the same DEFENCE as you . Judging from the next 3 GWs there's no rush to drop Bertrand . You can play terry PVA and kosc for the stretch

    Hi guys, hope everyone's well,

This is my first season playing Fantasy so I'm very new to this. I wanted to know what the consequences are of owning players that have double gameweeks e.g. Terry in week 27

Also who do I bring in for Bertrand? (already own 3 arsenal players, so no Bellerin)

    Thanks in advance.

Problem in owning Terry for example is that be has a blank in GW27 but will have a DGW later - can you afford to bench him in 27 and hold for the DGW?

      1. KEYS TO BENZEMA
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 12 months ago

I could.. I'm assuming this means he gets no points week 27 but for the DGW will he get (as the name suggests) double the points? As in will they total up his points from both his matches that week,

Again thank you for the reply.

    Hart/Foster

    Def: clichy/azipecuelta/ wisdom/ bellerin/ clyne
    Mid: carzola/hazard/ johnson/ colback/ pucheon
    for: kane/ aguero/ gayle

I will change my team before the deadline this team is just to gain money.... is this a good team to gain money on.

Would you do Puncheon (had for a couple of weeks) > Cazorla for free? Have Sanchez and Giroud also. Should be goals in the North London derby, I reckon.

Alternative is Di Maria > Silva. Might do that for a hit, but no rush.

Don't think about it too much.

Just get the cheese & crackers out and pour some red wine.

I recommend switching off and watching 2001: A Space Odyssey - much faster paced and less confusing.

One of my worst weekends in fantasy football.score 52 points.slumped from 4 k to 8 k and to add insult to injury one of my sons must have hacked into my account and has transfered out Alexis to silva.

Anyone else considering keeping Bertrand???? With a decent sets of fixtures in the rest of my defense it is possible to fill in the Berty-shapes gap in our teams.

For example I have Naylor + Wisdom who I'm perfectly happ to play for the next few GWs

Got 100 smackers on the Patriots to win by 8 or more , and 10 quid on Amendola and Blount first TD scorers and a small cover bet on Wilson first TD

I fancy a Td lead sewn up with a field goal for patriots.
then again I also fancy their QB to throw 3 interceptions
