This evening we preview the final and third place play-off matches of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup X, as sponsored by Paddy Power, and take a look back at the key events during the semi-finals.

CMIFLFC, who is 3381st overall, eased past 731st ranked bobbyg in the semi-finals. His score of 82 was also the round’s top score, which earns him £25 worth of free Paddy Power bets.

The other semi-final saw Momalpashands, who is ranked 389th in the world, see off 278,180th ranked Harts Hotspurs in what was the round’s David versus Goliath clash. Momalpashands’ impressive score of 81 proved too much for our plucky minnow’s tally of 59.

The final between Momalpashands and CMIFLFC is finely balanced thanks to both already playing their winter wildcard during Gameweek 23.

Of the pair, CMIFLFC already has Gameweek 24’s standout captaincy choice Sergio Aguero, who faces Hull City at home, in his team.

But while Momalpashands opted to go without the Manchester City striker on his wildcard he has shrewdly kept enough in the bank to draft him in in place of Olivier Giroud and that move looks the likeliest scenario. Momalpashands also has David Silva in his team, another good option in Gameweek 24, which may give him the edge.

Among CMIFLFC’s key differentials are Santi Cazorla, Jonathan Walters, Jason Puncheon, Graziano Pelle and Nathanial Clyne. He should also have Olivier Giroud to call on as a differential should Momalpashands swap him out.

Momalpashands will be hoping his differentials, including Theo Walcott, Saido Berahino, Harry Kane and Cesc Fabregas, will be enough to win.

Meanwhile, the squads involved in our third place play-off clash is less clear, with both bobbyg and Harts Hotspurs still keeping their winter wildcards back for Gameweek 24.

Good luck to all four managers left in the competition. In the meantime, though, if you’re looking for more information on the Scout Cup schedule and prizes available, click this link for a more thorough rundown.

Shameless dive by the young kid Clough. Theres a reason Roger East was demoted from refereeing in the BPL.

Still no closer to deciding my WC team. Don't know if I want Giroud or Sturridge, Silva, Oscar, Mane, Azpi or Zouma. 🙁

I'll have Haz and Kane for sure. Think I'm going for Azpi or Zouma and then maybe Oscar too who will turn into Eriksen for the double. Really fancy Oscar over the next 3. Need to wait and see if Sanchez is out I guess.

Yeah I wish we knew one way or the other on Sanchez. I'm sure I'm clutching at straws by holding at the moment.

My thoughts are value-based. If you believe Studge will score, you have to believe Sterling will assist/score more also. I'd rather Sterling for that price than Sturridge.

      - Silva is great short-term IMHO, but too risky long-term if he's shunted out to the side.

      - Oscar, Azpi and Zouma I've been consistently wrong about so you're better off asking someone more qualified than myself.

      - I have Giroud. I think he's outstanding.

I agree about Silva I think but it could be 4-4-2 from this week imo with Dzeko and Jov back. Chelsea boys I'm confused about but there is a lot of potential there. Giroud I agree he's good value but I've currently got Bellerin (unbelievable value), Sanchez (explosive), Caz (form of his life)!

haha you reckon? bold chat. I never said they were the same quality of player. But Studge will free up space for Sterling surely? Sterling might not be half the player, but FPL points-per-pound is worth a look.

Giroud's got the form and fixtures, would lean towards Silva out of your three mids and defo Azpi over Zouma if you have funds - can't see Zouma getting too many more starts.

definitely not nailed no. and gets moved around, sometimes plays double pivot sometimes front 3 behind Pelle.

Rarely starts in the pivot. And we don't play a genuine pivot either.

But yes, not nailed now that Wanyama and Schneiderlin are fit - means him and Davis will fight it out, and sometimes Mane plays in that attacking central role too.

            1. Mondeo

No, doesn't start in the pivot but gets moved there often?
I use pivot for lack of appropriate term haha.

With Cork gone and cup runs over - I would've thought Schneid/Victor will start every game they're fit for..

I take it you're a saints fan? Thoughts on a Tadic burnout? He looks to me like he's trying to force it too much.

Link your team so we know who you have already.
At the similar price of the players you are selling
          Forwards - Kane/Defoe
          Defenders - Clyne/Toby/Bellerin/Kosc/Azpi/Wolly/Lescott

Depends on who you have already really.

                  Keep Alexis

Saving FT's to bring in Eriksen and a third Chelsea player is something to think about before DGW

Would probably ditch ADM for Eriksen and get Costa in if you can find the funds.

Just make sure you save some FT's for the DGW madness.

He is highly favoured. His only competition is from Marc Wilson.

      Good pick for me.

You should link your team so we know your other players.

I replaced Bertrand with another Soton defender, but if you were doubling up on Soton then go with and Arsenal defender or Chelsea if you don't have one of theirs.

      Current team

      Krul
      Bertrand* - Koscielny - VanA
Kazard - Cazorla - Di Maria - Moses
      Aguero - Kane - Giroud

      Pantil - Hutton, Wisdom, Boyd

Kompany the only nailed choice, but injury prone. City is also leaky compared to last year. For 6.4 there are much better options

Keep - outstanding value for a starting striker form top 6 team + lack of rotation option. Also GW27 isn't too bad for Boydinho to cover him if he's your 5th mid

Kane is almost fixture-proof in his current form IMO. So much value for that price also

Ideally bench to be something like Haz,Terry,Kane, Lloris with XI starters.

      • 11 Years

Two CHE and one TOT on the bench (unless you also have Lloris)

Save FT's for Eriksen and a third Chelsea player to bring in for the DGW

Mind you this could change is Chelsea don't end up having a DGW in 28

    Panti (Krul)

    PVA Terry Clyne (Baird, Wasi)
    JWP Hazard Cazorla Henderson (Sanchez)
    Giroud Kane Aguero

    G2G?

Play Baird over PVA. WBA better chance of cleanie, and if he doesn't start you get PVA subbing in anyway
