These are difficult times for Granville. Sadly for him, his prediction that Diego Costa’s studs played into my hands along with Emre Can’s ankle proved correct – the Chelsea villain pushed me into a Gameweek 23 Wildcard and I cashed in.

It left Granville spitting feathers and 92-points behind but he remains defiant. Even with the millions draining from his squad via his active Wildcard, my resolute co-host is not giving up on keeping the season alive and the rivalry as bitter as ever.

We weigh up Granville’s latest options in his quest to close the gap: analysing the contest between Sturridge and Aguero for our place in our forward lines, check in on the fallout from the Sanchez injury, whilst wading through the usual regulars ahead of another Gameweek.

Pay your dues via this link or mark up the deficit via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Hey guys, not sure whether or not to take a hit this week. I'm 50 points ahead in my mini league but my team seems incredibly weak this weekend.

    Adrian
    Lescott Fonte Naughton
    Walters Puncheon Hazard Fabregas
    Kane Augero Berahino

    Hamer Janmaat PVA Sanchez

I have £4.7m in the bank.

    Would you take a -4?

Nope I would just swap Fab for Silva or Caz, in that order for this g/w

Thanks man. I've used my transfer already as assumed Fabregas would be back lol. Would you still swap them and take the -4?

        I've changed my mind here
        Fab - Silva
        Bera - giroud

Fab, sanchez even lescott, berahino may not start, if any injury or last minute withdrawals, you may not have 11. Also Fab + Sanchez is 21 million or over 20% of your budget on your bench not scoring points for you.

From the bottom of the last page:
If I am opting for five in midfield and two up top...is it best to have a complete deadweight like Barnes or Zamora up there, or someone like Ayoze who will play and score the odd goal which I risk benching?

That being considered: As my 3rd forward-5th defender combo would you rather have
        A) Ayoze and Wollscheid
        B) PvA and Gayle

Which of these look best on a WC? I got Wisdom at 4.0, so have a selling price of 4.2.

    A) Foster, Myhill & Coloccini = 13.1m
    B) Krul, Panti & Wisdom(4.2) = 13.2m

I'm think for the extra 0.1m it's worth going with B as this way I can pick and choose when to start NEW/SUN/WBA defensive players, rather than being stuck with WBA in goal every week.

    xxx, xxx
    Terry, Clichy, Bellerin, PVA, xxx

Wild Card Team Draft - 4

    Krul -- Forster
    Ivan -- P.Jones -- PvA -- Vlaar -- Naughton
    Hazard -- Ozil -- Eriksen -- Mane -- Ameobi
    Aguero -- Giroud -- Diouf

Have enough to Straight Swap Giroud for Sturridge once he beings to Start Matches...

Thoughts Please...and Would you Disinvest from Mane and Invest in Toby? or keep it like this?

Diouf is a pure punt! Hughs told how much he wanted him to stay before he left for ACON..he is an important part of the team and did well in ACON as well as for Stoke before leaving..I think he will slot right in this week and has decent fixtures as well

        Diouf is a punt...
Ameobi a budget option I can degrade Mane and distribute between him and Ameobi...4th-5t Mid rotation..
PvA -- Vlaar -- Naughton share these fixtures till GW32 (BUR, SUN, QPR, WBA, bur, WBA, AVL, SWA, HUL, CPL)

Ameobi -> how can you be sure he will be a regular starter? he's only useful if he starts

Diouf -> Too much of a punt I feel, I think going for a safer option such as an in form and cheap Harry Kane is much better. At least get Defoe if you want to be a little bit different and you prefer nice fixtures.

Defensive rotation -> Ok I'll let you off here they are nice fixtures. Vlaar will hopefully make them more resilient, however beware that they need points in order to avoid relegation, they will have to prioritise their attack a bit more.

I agree with that...Berahino was my other option if not Diouf..does he seem like a decent pick..I was intered in Cisse as well but not sure whether he is a sure shot starter...

            Defense it's a risk but better a 4.3m player not getting a CS than a 4.9 or a 5m player...

I will degrade Mane and look at upgrading Ameobi to Colback most prob thanks!

Someone posted this yesterday re Sturridge:

Brendan Rodgers says Daniel Sturridge "is coming on very well" and he "will see" if the forward is ready to start against Everton.
I would keep team as it is. Mane gives you a chance to get Sigurdsson/Chadli/Downing(easily) in future if required

Right, is it mental to go with Sanchez on a WC? Here me out....

    1) 11 starters decent enough this week with Sanchez on the bench
    2) no value lost in Sanchez (10.4) and we'll know if he'll start before the deadline
    3) unlikely he will drop by more than 0.3m between now and next week's deadline so a max of 0.1m selling loss to me
    4) saves a transfer if he does start next week

    Krul
    Terry, Clichy, Wisdom
    Hazard, Silva, Santi, Oscar
    Aguero, Kane, Ayoze

    Panti, PVA, Bellerin, Sanchez

    1. Kurtinho

I suppose it depends on whether you think he'll make the Leicester game. I don't, so have sold.

I think it's 50:50. If he's not in the team for LEI then it's a fairly easy switch to Wally/Ozil/ADM next week. Problem if I do that switch now is I can't afford to get him back unless I downgrade elsewhere.

        1. Billy Gilmore
          • 13 Years
          11 years, 28 days ago

Yeah, I'm looking at how I can scrounge a 0.1 or 2 out of my team. Looking at Ameobi and Haidara with their plum fixture in the blank week. As it stands I have 0 ITB so would need him to fall to 10.9/Santi to rise again to make it 11.0

    5. applemanthai
      • 16 Years
      11 years, 28 days ago

initially it looks silly but with your squad it could work.
However, if it's just about money then sell.... so much value in cheap strikers this season that 0.3 loss means little.
Chase points not money! (the real money is inthe mini leagues 🙂

Setting up for my first draft league game of the 2nd half of the season. A bit undecided on my team but here goes. A bit concerned about playing Nasri and whether I've got the right 2nd striker...

    Pantilimon

    Azpilicueta-Koscielny-Lescott

    Hazard-Ozil-Coutinho-Mane-Nasri

    RvP-Benteke

    Bench: Wollscheid/Vlaar/de Jong/Jelavic/ S Fletcher

If Sanchez is definitely out for London derby on the 7th it would seem highly unlikely he'll be rushed back for a game vs Leicester on the 10th.

with Johnson Fab and Sanchez and Bertrand out, i need to take a hit. I think Fab should be back after this game week so i may keep him. i may also keep Bert just coz i will use my other defence for now.

I m thinking of taking a hit to get rid of Sanchez and either Rooney or Johnson and replace them with either
    Hazard / JWP
    Aguero / Ozil or Carzola

    Ozil a good option?

Are wild carders concerned that PVA is playing United away in GW27? Assuming you are benching 3 blank players eg (Kane, Hazard, Ivan), You'll need PVA to play in that game.

So are people thinking of going without PVA? I've just notices I'd probably only start him in 1 or 2 fixtures prior to the blankGW anyway.

      • 14 Years

United aren't scoring that many goals and are leaky at the back. I won't take him out just because of 1 fixture.

A stoke or even a newcastle defender would be a better option for gw27. But since I'm not on WC, I'll be hoping for a sunderland clean sheet at OT.
