We cast an eye over the new injuries sustained during the weekend’s ten fixtures this evening. Problems mount for Palace up front, Newcastle’s concerns continue, whilst United’s misfiring Dutchman is set for ankle scans after Saturday’s loss at Swansea.

Aston Villa
Kieran Richardson was forced off during the first half of Saturday’s home loss to Stoke due to injury.

Crystal Palace
Fraizer Campbell was withdrawn during the Eagles’ home loss to Arsenal after picking up a hamstring problem. Marouane Chamakh failed to feature against his former club due to a similar complaint.

Liverpool
Mamadou Sakho missed today’s clash with Southampton due to a hip problem, the Reds’ official twitter feed has confirmed.

Man United
The Red Devils are sweating over the fitness of Robin van Persie after the Dutchman left the Liberty Stadium on crutches after sustaining an ankle injury Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Swansea. United are expected to know results of scans on the Dutchman by some point tomorrow.

Newcastle
Daryl Janmaat limped off with a groin problem during the Magpies’ 5-0 hammering at the Etihad on Saturday evening. Manager John Carver confirmed:

“He has got a tight groin. I don’t think he’s too serious at the moment, but it is tight and we took him off as a precaution.”

QPR
Niko Krancjar limped out of the R’s narrow loss at Hull on Saturday and was replaced by Armand Traore on 78 minutes.

Southampton
Steven Davis was replaced at the break during the Saints’ home encounter against Liverpool after picking up a knock.

Sunderland
Billy Jones missed the Black Cats’ goalless draw with West Brom due to injury.

Stoke
Erik Pieters was replaced with five minutes remaining of the weekend win at Villa due to injury.

West Ham
Carlton Cole was forced off due to injury during the Hammers’ draw at Spurs this afternoon.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

WC on Gw28 is tempting. Not just because of a dgw, but most top teams have good fixtures. Also many top teams have exited the FA Cup so less chance of any major teams having dgws. Good idea or wait?

    Current Team

    Foster Myhill
    Bellerin PvA Hutton Bertrand Skrtel
    Hazard Sanchez AdM Johnson Puncheon
    Aguero Giroud Kane

    2FT, 1.1m

    Thanks.

My defence in tatters this week

    Ivanovic Kolarov PVA Bellerin Haidara

Haidara could well be the only starter, plan had been Kolarov to Lescott but not sure now. Thoughts?

Definitely do Kolarov to Lescott i think. Then if Bellerin doesnt look likely to start i would use the other one too. Remember hits are effectively -2 rather than -4 with the blanks.

I'm surprised no one thinks Spurs will make champions league.
They're playing just as well as Liverpool at the moment (evidenced by theyre worthy defeat at an field)
Will be out of the Europa soon so won't have hangovers to worry about
Arsenal scraped past liecester and palace, they will slip up soon,
    United are dreadful,
And it was clear from southamptons game yesterday that they are running out of energy.
As well as that, Spurs have the easiest fixtures left

Arsenal scrapped past leicester and palace..spurs needed a last min penalty to draw at home to west ham and lost to palace. Spurs might not get knocked out of europe soon

Not sure if there is any sense for me to bring in Eriksen for the DGW.

I might just go with Kane and Austin as my only DGW players.

I mean who should I drop for Eriksen?

    Sterling (BUR)
Hazard (whu) and will have a DGW himself a bit later
    Cazorla (qpr)
    Silva (LEI)

The only option seems to be Cazorla and he's currently my only Arsenal attacker.

    What do you guys think?

I would work out a way to get him in.
He has Swansea and QPR - both very nice fixtures for Spurs.

Assuming you have Aguero, maybe look to lose Silva - the old tactic of 'coverage'
      Hazard is a season keeper.

I'd probably put it in this order:

      Cazorla
      Sterling
      Silva

2 FTs, but have 4 out of favour players: Cahill, Baird, PVA, Albrighton
Currently only have 8 playing in GW 27 assuming Baird, PVA dont play

    Best moves?

A Cahill, Baird to Bertrand, Dawson
B Cahill, Albrighton to Bertrand, Moses/Mane

B seems to have more upside, but am I right that A is better for long term? Playing Moses/Mane for 1 GW seems to be a waste and I might need to take him out in the future for cash reasons (5th midfielder)

I know - Giroud to Austin doesn't look real good. But then Austin was the preferred choice before he went injured - and people seem to forget how Giroud, despite his goalscoring form, is prone to rotation as Arsenal are fighting on 3 front. If I do that move, it's not only for the DGW.

Rickardinho accuses me of following the herd and jumping on bandwagons 😆

"You assume you are making independent decisions but the evidence is otherwise. You have exactly the transfer profile I described - early wildcard in GW 22 to get Aguero back and captain him for 1 point, knee-jerk to get Sanchez and Defoe for a hit in GW 25."

I Wc'ed GW 21 with no Aguero. Get your facts right.

I think you missed the part when i bought Austin for a hit at 0.9% ownership gw 11. Or when i captained Welbeck in gw 5 when he scored 12x2.

would it be madness to consider captaining Aguero in GW28 over kane with a double fixture? Leicester could get hammered and swansea are pretty tight. But QPR could let Kane flourish. Anyone else has this conundrum or its just as simple as Kane captain?

I'm considering that too. Leicester (h) is about as good as it gets. Plus Spurs have 4 important games in 9 days and the DGW games are the last 2 of those. I doubt Kane will play 90 minutes in both of them.

    Would you rather:

    A) Take a hit to get in Silva and Dawson/Lescott and admit defeat and play with 9 players (leaving WC for later in the season)

    or

    B) Use WC, sort out defence and a few others, get out a decent 11 for next week with Hazard, Kane and Eriksen benched

    Wisdom/PVA/Marney>Dawson/Toby(if fit)/Boyd -4?

        Essentially it's only a -2 in my case Nabil as I can't field 11,
The hit clears the deadwood and a goal/assist from Boyd more than pays for itself.
