We cast an eye over the new injuries sustained during the weekend’s ten fixtures this evening. Problems mount for Palace up front, Newcastle’s concerns continue, whilst United’s misfiring Dutchman is set for ankle scans after Saturday’s loss at Swansea.

Aston Villa
Kieran Richardson was forced off during the first half of Saturday’s home loss to Stoke due to injury.

Crystal Palace
Fraizer Campbell was withdrawn during the Eagles’ home loss to Arsenal after picking up a hamstring problem. Marouane Chamakh failed to feature against his former club due to a similar complaint.

Liverpool
Mamadou Sakho missed today’s clash with Southampton due to a hip problem, the Reds’ official twitter feed has confirmed.

Man United
The Red Devils are sweating over the fitness of Robin van Persie after the Dutchman left the Liberty Stadium on crutches after sustaining an ankle injury Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Swansea. United are expected to know results of scans on the Dutchman by some point tomorrow.

Newcastle
Daryl Janmaat limped off with a groin problem during the Magpies’ 5-0 hammering at the Etihad on Saturday evening. Manager John Carver confirmed:

“He has got a tight groin. I don’t think he’s too serious at the moment, but it is tight and we took him off as a precaution.”

QPR
Niko Krancjar limped out of the R’s narrow loss at Hull on Saturday and was replaced by Armand Traore on 78 minutes.

Southampton
Steven Davis was replaced at the break during the Saints’ home encounter against Liverpool after picking up a knock.

Sunderland
Billy Jones missed the Black Cats’ goalless draw with West Brom due to injury.

Stoke
Erik Pieters was replaced with five minutes remaining of the weekend win at Villa due to injury.

West Ham
Carlton Cole was forced off due to injury during the Hammers’ draw at Spurs this afternoon.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Two questions:

    A) Bertrand, back from suspension, he must be nailed on right?

    B) Erikson, if he's getting rested now is he going to get 180 minutes in the DGW?

Wow just checked. Tott's fixture list is SO congested:

      26th Feb
      1st March
      4th March
      7th March

I really wonder who might be nailed on for 180, if anyone... presumably Lloris at least

And because we only drew at home against Fiorentina Pocchetino may eb tempted to play Kane for 90 minutes in the return leg; thus lowering his chances of playing 180 mins across the double.

    Any ideas on this lot?

    Jakupovic – Pantilimon
van Aanholt – Coloccini – Wollscheid – Clyne – Zouma
    Hazard – Sánchez – Silva – Boyd – Cazorla
    Defoe – Agüero – Kane

2 FT, £1.8m in the bank.

Zouma, PVA or Defoe out or 2 for 2 FTs?

    Cheers in advance. 🙂

Some advice please on some DGW options.

    A. PvA -> Naughton and have only Kane as a DGWer

    B. PvA -> Naughon and then Vert the following week and have Vert and Kane as DGWers

    C. Save FT and possibly play with 10 this week. Then PvA -> Rose and Defoe -> Austin and have Rose, Austin, and Kane for the DGW

    Pantilimon / Foster
van Aanholt / Haidara / Bellerín / Terry / Dawson
    Hazard / Boyd / Silva / Sánchez / Cazorla
    Kane / Agüero / Defoe

1 FT, £1.9m in the bank.

C but I'd rather have Eriksen than Rose if you're getting in a second DGWer. Spurs defence not worth the monies.

Nothing wrong with a hit, as long as it's calculated.

Most are going to have 3-6 DGW players, if you have 1 there's a real chance of loosing ground.

I'm sticking with PVA just now myself. Not a fan of Spurs defence personally.

Can forget Toby for this GW. Initially it was a short lay-off.

Now that it's almost 2 months, even if he starts training this week he won't be ready for a couple more. Yoshida is quite capable such that Toby won't be rushed.

I agree. Silva, Nasri / Yaya (if you can afford it) and Aguero.

It really does look like Aguero will start every game but be brought off at some point in the 2nd half once the game is wrapped up. That then gives Yaya a chance to score the pens that come from Nasri / Navas, etc. creating penalties with their quick feet vs the tired defenders.

Stuck with Baird + PvA as many on here. Want to ship at least one before GW27. Got 2FT, but alas £0.0 itb
    Looking at these two options:

    a) Baird -> Bruce/McShane

    b) Baird + Boyd -> Naugthon/Dawson + Brady

Not sure about Brady though - is he now nailed on until his next injury? He had a good run of form last year at least. An selling Boyd will of course means he comes back to troll me 🙂 !
    Opinions much appreciated!

A Polish man married a Canadian girl after he
had been in Canada a year or so, and although
his English was far from perfect, the couple
got on very well. One day, though, he rushed
into a lawyer’s office and asked if he could
arrange a divorce for him, "Very quick!" The
lawyer explained that the speed of getting a
divorce would depend on the circumstances,
    and asked these questions:
    LAWYER: "Have you any grounds?"
POLE: "An acre and half, and a nice 3 bedroom
    house."
LAWYER: "No, I mean what is the foundation of
    the case?"
POLE: "It is made of concrete, bricks &
    mortar."
LAWYER: "Does either of you have a real
    grudge?"
POLE: "No, we have a carport and don’t need a
    grudge."
LAWYER: "I mean, what are your relations
    like?"
POLE: "All my relations live in Poland."
LAWYER: "Is there any infidelity in your
    marriage?"
POLE: "Yes, we have hi-fidelity stereo set &
    DVD player with 6.1 sound."
LAWYER: "No, I mean does your wife beat you
    up?"
POLE: "No, I’m always up before her."
LAWYER: "Why do you want this divorce?"
POLE: "She going to kill me!"
LAWYER: "What makes you think that?"
    POLE: "I got proof."
    LAWYER: "What kind of proof?"
POLE: "She going to poison me. She buy bottle
at drug store and I read label. It say Polish
    Remover."

Hey all - as far as I could tell, PvA was dropped for tactical reasons, to make up for the fact that they went with an attacking 4-4-2 line up to accommodate Defoe and Graham. Given that they couldn't score, either that means they should revert to the old formation OR keep the new formation and give PvA a chance to actual create chances for DG & JD OR they stick with this and screw us all over.

Does anyone know anything more concrete? Did PvA sleep with Gus' daughter or smth?

Want to have 2 FTs for next week, but do I need to use them now?

    Foster/Myhill
    Terry/Bertrand/Jones/Wisdom/PVA
    Sanchez/Walcott/Hazard/ADM/Boyd
    Aguero/Kane/Defoe

    0.8 ITB, 2 FT

Ditching Wisdom needs to happen - could I get away with having PVA and Walcott for one more week, or would I end up with 9 players?

I thought he'd start this week, impossible to say at the moment. The only thing putting me off is that I'd probably ditch for a week, then ditch his replacement for Eriksen for a hit.

Louis CK is a genius. Louie is wonderful, as is his stand up. As a stand up, he's one of the best (Stewart Lee and Daniel Kitson rival him imo).

I think some people are letting the double game week cloud their judgement.. Austin away against Spurs and Arsenal? Could easily be 2 and 2. Would rather have a striker thats playing one decent home game than 2 tough away ones.

Next week has big potential to be a low scoring week. People considering playing 9/10 players to keep transfers for the DGW.

Ideal week to take a punt. And all the 'big' teams either blanking or unattractive fixtures.

What's the game of the weekend?

    West Ham
    Burnley
    United

Seem the games to me to pick from.

    I have three options:

    A) Cancel my planned Bertie transfer this week (for Baird) and play with 10 - use the money for Eriksen next week
    B) Swap Sanchez or Silva for Eriksen next week
    C) Do nothing and hope Eriksen blanks.

De la Hoya was robbed when he fought mayweather whereas manny demolished him....

Disagree about de la hoya. Started strong but his combos weren't really effective. In the end i had scored it to mayweather by a point or two. Close on the cards but had the impression mayweather was doing just enough as he so often does.
As you know we can't really draw these comparisons. Marquez has thoroughly outboxed pacman for many of the 3524 rounds they've fought against each other but got destroyed by mayweather. Styles make fights. I'm just stoked it's finally gonna happen 😀 no more he said she said bullox. Just 2 men 12 rounds 2nds out ding ding 😀
