Our quest for a spot in Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship tournament continues as the weekend saw another six spots sealed for the final day contest.

The FFS XI garnered a respectable 90.62 points but was left floundering by some fierce competition as fscottl sealed his second qualifying place in the tournament via an impressive 115.2-point tally.

Unperturbed by that miss, you can read on for our picks for the midweek Gameweek, as we bid for another qualifying spot. Before that, let’s take a look at how the big prize money contest works…

How Does it Work?

In the final Gameweek of the season, Mondogoal will crown their first World Champion and they will go away with a huge £10,000 top prize.

So far, 40 qualifiers have gone forward to the final Gameweek contest, with 130 places still up for grabs. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for just £2.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests for the midweek Gameweek. You still have until 7.35pm tonight to select you lineup for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

Bear in mind, the more you stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five duking it out in the high-rolling £50 competition.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal lineup with the click of a button. Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Lineup in Other Contests”.

Last week, FFScout fan “Eliminos” won the signed West Ham jersey by backing the Newcastle defence against Aston Villa.  Click here to see his full winning team. He found out about Mondogoal recently through FFS and has since turned his £10 deposit into £71 and a signed jersey.  Every fixture for the rest of the season you’ll be able to win signed West Ham United shirts, footballs, and match tickets. This week you can win tickets to see West Ham United versus Sunderland on March 21 for just £1.

FF Scout Gameweek 28 Picks

mg
We’re going all out on goals from two heavy-hitters up front. With City desperate for a win, we have to back Sergio Aguero, despite the heft of his 16.8 million price tag. Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge comes a tad cheaper at just 11.6 million – due mainly to his stalled return to the starting lineup following injury. We reckon he’ll be unleashed from the start against Burnley and with the Clarets keeping just one away shut-out all term, we’re expecting goals for a buoyant Liverpool. That pairing are partnered with Hull City’s Dame N’Doye – he was rested at Stoke with Tuesday’s clash with Sunderland in mind and we reckon he’ll return to goal scoring form to warrant the modest 7.9 million outlay.

The Tigers also form the foundation of our defence, with keeper Allan McGregor and revived centre-back, Paul McShane, coupled up with the Liverpool pairing of Alberto Moreno and another player enjoying a renaissance – Dejan Lovren.

The midfield includes a pair of real gambles that we hope will prove major differentials. With injuries biting, we’re backing both Charlie Adam and Stephane Sessegnon to start for Stoke and West Brom respectively – we’re not expecting too many goals in their fixtures but both pack a threat and aren’t shy of reining in efforts on goal. Tottenham’s Christian Eriksen and Southampton’s Sadio Mane offer the midfield a more assured look – we just hope, along with thousands of Fantasy managers, that Eriksen turns up and produces the goods against Swansea.

A reminder that Mondogoal lineups can be tweaked up to ten minutes before the first kick-off, so we can all benefit form the teamsheets prior to tonight’s three kick-offs – that will give us the chance to swap out that Sessegnon gamble.

You’ll find our XI in the £2 Qualifying Contest for the Mondogoal £30k World Championship. We’ve also got an entry in the £5 contest offering a £1000 prize pot and, as mentioned above, the special contest that offers tickets for a forthcoming fixture at Mondogoal partners, West Ham. Come and take us on!

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I'm on a WC too, struggling to decide whether to keep Sanchez or switch to Ozil.

With the extra cash you could do Toby > Bertrand. And then do Sterling to Silva next week for City's run of games.

Can't decide who to exclude from my UFPL squad....Rooney or Giroud. I already have Kane and Kun who are nailed on and Pelle plays tonight so in order to manage the optimum places on my bench I have to sacrifice one of Rooney or Giroud OR I ditch both and play Zamora.

I think he will have to if he wants points.

I have an even bigger issue than you Austin and Kane up front and Rooney/Costa/Aguero as third, although it's pretty obvious Aguero will take it, but I really hope I don't miss out on a big haul from the other two.

That's difficult. No point putting more than 1 striker on the bench as you won't play them and you lose the slots for defenders and mids for match day 2. Really hard to decide.

If you had an option to take a £0.4m budget hit rather than a -4 point hit, would you take it?

Totally depends on your forward planning. Will you need the 0.4?

If you have a wildcard left I'd take the -4 I think. Budget is very helpful when wildcarding.

What do you guys think about Clyne -> Rose FT???

Soton might concede tonight and it's Chelsea away after that. Also, Rose -> Toby would be an easy transfer in near future. Thoughts?

Yeah why not. The side potential is far higher than the downside.

i wouldn't, Cylne is one of the best defenders in the game to have. Especially if you got him cheap.

Rose will play only one of the games IMO

Clyne's fixtures are great apart from Chelsea. Bp magnet and consistently good.

Cheers guys, I must say it's tempting since Rose has good fixtures too and Toby is so cheap.
