After the fun and frenzy of the cricket World Cup, I present to you the Fantasy IPL 2015. The tournament gets under way on the 8th of April and cricket and Fantasy sports fans in general can register for the Fantasy IPL game here. Upon doing so, you’ll be sent a verification email which you must click on to complete registration and create your team. Below is a list of the rules, including how scoring and transfers work, and at the end, you can find the code to join the FFScout league for the Fantasy IPL game.

THE RULES

SELECTING AN XI:

For Tournament Mode and Match Mode, you have 1 million Credits to build a squad of 11 players. Each player has been assigned roles (batsman, all-rounder, wicket keeper, bowler), and a price (ranging from 60,000 Credits to 110,000 Credits).

    • Squad Balance:
    • four or five batsmen.
    • At least one all-rounder.
    • Exactly one wicket keeper (you can pick variable role wicket keepers as batsmen)
    • At least two bowlers.
  • Team Spread: Not more than six players from any one ICC Cricket World Cup team.
  • Overseas Limit: You can pick a maximum of four overseas players in your squad.
  • Uncapped Quota: Your squad must have at least one uncapped player. An uncapped player is an Indian cricketer who has not played in any ODIs, Tests or T20 Internationals.
  • Once you have selected a squad, you can pick any one player from your XI to be the Power Player. Your Power Player earns you double points, so he can make a big difference to your score. Your XI will start earning points from the next match.
  • Remember, for Match Mode, you need to select a new XI for each match. You have to select your squad, and choose your Power Player before the first ball of a match is bowled. Winners will be declared for each match based on the points scored.

SCORING

Batting Points

  • Base Score: 1 point per run.
  • Impact Score: 2 points per six, -5 for a duck.
  • Milestone Bonus: 10 points for every 25 runs scored.
  • Pace Bonus: Runs Scored – Balls faced.

Bowling Points

  • Base Score: 20 points per wicket.
  • Impact Score: 1 point per dot ball, 20 points for a maiden over.

Fielding Points

  • Catch: 10 points.
  • Stumping: 15 points.
  • Direct Hit: 15 points.
  • Run Out: 10 points for each player involved.

Bonus Points

  • Player of the Match: 25 points.
  • Victory bonus: 5 points for victory in League Stage. 10 points for victory in Playoffs.
  • Milestone Bonus: 10 pointsfor the 2nd wicket, 10 points for each subsequent wicket.
  • Pace Bonus: 1.5 x Balls – Runs conceded. If it is positive, it is doubled.

CHANGING YOUR SQUAD

Substitutions

Before the tournament: Unlimited subs.

Match 1 to Match 56: 75 subs.

After Match 56 and before Qualifier 1: Unlimited subs.
Qualifier 1 to Final: 10 subs.

LOCK IN, POWER PLAYER & UNCAPPED SUBS

  • Teams are locked when the first ball of a match is bowled.
Changes made after the first ball of a match is bowled will not affect points earned in that match. So if you drop a player after the first ball of the match is bowled, he’ll still earn points for you in that match.
  • For the Daily Challenge, you can make unlimited substitutions till the first ball of the first match of the day is bowled. You cannot make any changes to your squad for that day after the first ball of the day is bowled.
  • You can change your Power Player as many times as you want. So remember to change it for every match.
  • Every match, you can bring in one uncapped player into the squad without it counting as a substitution. So, picking an uncapped player for each match is a great strategy.

STEALTH MODE

Every hotly contested league has a few crucial matches, when you’re making critical substitutions and trying to earn as many points as possible. In such cases, hiding your squad changes from opponents adds a massive strategic advantage.

Stealth Mode is a feature that lets you do exactly that. You can activate Stealth Mode in the Confirm Substitutions panel in the Change Squad page.

Once activated, other users will not be able to see your current squad. Instead, when they visit your page, they will see the squad and updated time for the previous match. There will be no indication that you are in Stealth Mode, it will simply look like you’ve made no changes since the previous match.

If you are in Stealth Mode, you can make any number of changes and none of them will be visible. Your new squad is revealed only after the next lock-in.

You can activate Stealth Mode for any five matches of your choice, from Match 2 onwards.

SCHEDULED SUBSTITUTIONS

There may be days on which you are unable to make substitutions because you may be travelling, stuck in a meeting or stranded on a desert island. In such situations, scheduling your substitutions beforehand is a big relief.

The Scheduled Substitutions feature lets you schedule changes one match in advance, by clicking on the “Schedule Substitutions” link on your home page. You can also review or cancel scheduled subs from your homepage.

You can only schedule subs for the match after the next one. So if the next match is Match 5, you can schedule squad changes for Match 6.

All Scheduled Substitutions for a match will be automatically performed after the lock-in of the previous match.

Warning: If you have subs scheduled for a match, you cannot make changes to your squad unless you cancel those scheduled subs.

You can also choose to activate Stealth Mode along with your Scheduled Substitutions.

The Scheduled Substitutions feature can be used any number of times.

In Match Mode, you choose a new squad for each match. You can make unlimited changes to this squad and the Power Player till the first ball of the match is bowled.

The code to join the FFS league is 17538.

I’d be happy to help with potential starting elevens and if you need help scouting Indian players.

I can't believe how badly I have been doing in this game so far (down in 55th place in FFS league). I feel I have been sensible with my transfers, playing the fixtures and ensuring good representation in each game. The problem is just that I have picked the wrong players!

      Similar story here.

I tend to have the right players but always end up with the wrong PP.

36-35 loss. Lucky escape. That Kulkarni over killed it, really should've won. Then Boult missing that catch in their innings.

I've got Rohit currently and looking to bring in McCullum, Andersen & Pandey. Possibly even a gamble on Raina..

Having less than 20 transfers left at this stage takes you out of consideration for the competition I'm afraid.

Certainly, rank is almost irrelevant at this stage because of those that've spent most of their transfers already.

Delhi's games are so spaced out that it feels wrong investing too much into them.

I'm already stocked up on SRH though.

Will bring in KKR for the SRH for the late game.

Differentials I think may do well tomorrow are Bopara,Mishra,Russel and Morkel.

Hmmm, how many KKR are you thinking of?

Think I might get Gambhir, Pandey & Russell, with Saha my sole KXIP player. Don't trust any of Maxwell, Bailey or Miller at the minute.

Up 1k overall today to 18k, wasn't looking good after the first game with no Duminy but Russell's big score reduced the impact, disappointed I didn't captain him!

Gone up 2k to 16k after the first game, mainly due to Rahane. Not done too bad in this game with Rohit, AB & Chahal but Gayle PP was a bit of a downer. Should at least maintain rank though.

Decent weekend, climbed from 44th in the league to 11th after captaining Russell yesterday, Watson this morning and Simmons this afternoon.

I see a couple of the people who did well in the WC league are in the top 10 in this league...

Who will you have in tomorrow's game? I'll have Duminy, Iyer, Pandey, Uthappa, Russel & Morkel.

Nicely done mate, was monitoring you earlier in the tournament and wondering why you were so low, now you've hit the jackpot with your PP selections and shot above me.

Going in with Iyer, Agarwal, S.Yadav, Duminy, Uthappa & Russell. Unsure on PP mind you.

Duminy probably, maybe Uthappa if KKR bat first.

Yeah, issue is i'm never usually about for the toss so always at a disadvantage.

Also, Pandey or Iyer as my uncapped player? Still undecided.

Also noticed your tactic of buying but not PPing explosive players like BMac, but instead going for the likes of Simmons and all-rounders(Watson & Russell). Is this usually a successful strategy? Or do the big scores from BMac & Gayle outweigh their low scores(like today)?

It's harder picking captains for t20 games than 50 over games, the safe option if to pick a star batsmen who opens or comes in at number 3, PPing an all rounder who bats lower down the batting order is a bit risky but can pay off massively.

Ok, so you'd always go for the likes of Duminy & Anderson who come in early and bowl, as well as openers. Any reason why you went for Simmons over Gayle last game then?

Only had 3 players and Gayle wasn't one of them, I had Kohli & Chahal and could afford one more overseas player for 950k, went for Simmons PP because Mumbai batted first.

I've planned out all my transfers for the rest of the tournament and on average I'll have 5 players per game, 3 is the fewest I'll have in a game, 8 is the most.

Wow, not sure I could take the time or effort to plan that far ahead. I have an eye on the schedule a few games in advance but that's about it.

I've got 60 transfer left after the game tomorrow so maybe time to let loose a little, as I see most have 50 or less remaining.

In answer to your first question: not always, for Mumbai's next game, I'll probably only have Harbhajan, Agarwal & Iyer, so I'll PP Harbhajan.

Slightly down to 2900 overall but happy enough still got 56 transfers left how's everyone else doing ? Also who are you guys going for tmoz think I may have to use a transfer and bring in duminy as he is batting at number three and bowls a fair bit that will give me Uthappa, pandey, Russell, Iyer, Yuvi and duminy probz gonna pp Uthappa

I'm 14k with 52 transfers left. Had a dreadful start though.

You look to be sitting pretty at that rank with 56 transfers!

can't be bothered to play this this year. There are too many teams and too many matches on at the same time so too difficult to keep track of team news.

For me it's also not quite as fun if I don't watch the games, which I won't because the quality is terrible when compared to the IPL.

Depends if you have an overseas slot, some good options that I'd rate in this order: Narine, Russell, Morkel, Yadav, Chawla
