When Kevin Anderson’s workmates convinced him to put together a Fantasy Football squad the day before the season kick-off, little did they know that they’d unleashed a monster.

Eight months later, Kevin sits just three points off the top, £30,000 prize, in the Sky Sports game, having never played Fantasy Football. Regardless of the outcome, that’s a debut season to remember.

Kevin was our guest on this week’s live ScoutCast Hangout, joining Granville who made a return from his brief sulk hiatus, and Jonty to complete Tuesday night’s quartet.

We discover how Kevin’s relentless planning and stalking of opponents has helped him scale the ranks to within touching distance of the glittering prize. We also take time to digest the double Gameweek options, previewing the weekend with all the usual haphazard panache.

If you missed Monday’s live Hangout, you can catch the full version below, complete with that classic moment where I crash out of the conversation and leave the others hanging.

If you prefer your ScoutCast in a more slick, digestible format, you’ll want the edited audio experience, available on iTunes, via this link or the player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

How likely do we think Clichy is to start this weekend?

And how likely do we think City are to keep a cleanie vs Palace?

Unlikely. Palace at home, have a nice bit of flair under Pardew with nothing to lose. Murray on 4/4.

Interesting points. I dont get to watch much southampton or sunderland games. Is PVA actually more attacking than Clyne or is it a case of the stats say one thing but the game play says another?

Fairly Challenging, in a good way! Moneyballing galore. Sessegnon, Fellaini, Larsson, Silva and Cabella. Points equal for goals/ assists for backs/ mids/ forwards.

Many budget players around..so lesser tendency to get stuck by the lack of 0.1m..always have money itb..so now pay lesser attention to it unless the upcoming transfers are v tight and cannot afford a rise

Sometimes it's relavent. I need Austin to rise another £0.1m so that I can have exact money for Costa next week (assuming Costa doesn't rise himself!)

This too. I made a transfer last week because I knew I would make the move before GW31 started and there was no point letting .1 wash away for no good reason.

    1. KEYS TO BENZEMA

That's a tough one, I would have said Mane based on the opposition but then I saw Southampton are playing Everton away. I think Mane is the more likely of the two to get a goal, Coutinho is more likely to be involved in goals (through assists potentially)

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

    Eriksen to Ramsey?

Ramsey scored and assisted for Wales during the international break, Eriksen has not got me the returns I was hoping for.

My other midfielders are Hazard Silva Mane and Henderson

    Any advice is appreciated

Why get Ramsey so near to the blank. Also one cant be sure if he will actually start all games. Stick with Eriksen, at least he is a guaranteed starter besides having good fixtures.

Benteke had 78 stitches in a serious headwound, a broken arm, dislocated collar bone, a cut eye, sprained ankles and a suslected broken back. Sherwood says he'll probably only be able to play for 179 minutes of the DGW 😉

    PVA or Clyne :

Considering the fact that Sunderland is favoured by the bookmakers over Southampton for providing a clean sheet this week with 3.25 to 3.75 respectively, really confused whom should I play in my 3-man defence.

Since I will play Ivanovic anyway and Hutton by virtue of his double. The third is either PVA or Clyne.

    Who would have played ?

In fact, it's after I saw Trigger's post in his blog, I made this post.

What is even more inclining me towards PVA is his attacking stats over Clyne, which was also highlighted in Trigger's article.

        What's your decision though ?

      Clyne.

Sunderland are shite. Newcastle will score. Best defence in the league etc etc.

Contrast is : Soto'n has the best away defense, Sunderland has the worst home defense.
Fact is : Both Soto'n away and Sunderland home has yielded 4 clean sheets.

        How about that ?

        So am I.

Also most will play Clyne (or their Soto'n defender) in the top 25K (where I am). So I downside is heavy, but the upside is better.

Add to that, with a very template team, I'm stuck in ranks too.

Don't look at rank or for differentials...... Put your best team out. It's a game of inches, with captain choice being by far the biggest factor for swings in rank.

This is true. Saints season last year although technically 'successful' was dull, it was over by March, out of the cups, no threat of relaxation, no chance of Europe. Give me a relegation dog fight over comfortable success any day......

Cheering for a win! Its one game at a time. Dont really care abt position tbh, infact other than top 5 and bottom 5, I dont even know the position of other teams 😆
Obviously it depends what you expect from your favourite team. Support a top side and always win, thats boring. Support a bottom half side and always lose, thats frustrating.
