In the same boat. Austin > Remy and save the other FT.

Who're you eyeing up as a Naughton replacement?

Not even thought about Naughton replacement, have two frees but will just use one on remy, have three decent defenders for this week

For me Remy is worth the risk for several reasons:

    - He's now first choice striker for the best team in the league who haven't yet guaranteed the title.

    - Scores a goal every 91.2 mins (Costa = 103.1)

    - He has previous for scoring. Last season he scored 14 in 2097 mins. In comparison Costa has 19 in 1945 mins this season (for a better team)

    - In the next 3 games weeks has QPR away and a potential DGW

    - The only other Chelsea options for me are Fabregas, Willian and Terry (or Ivanovic depending on the defender you own). Chelsea aren't keeping clean sheets right now so most of us wouldn't back the doubling on defence. With 2 goals and 4 assists all season Willian would be a bit of a punt. Fabregas would be the best option out of those 3 for me but he's not exactly setting the world alight right now.

    - For a lot of us we're replacing Benteke/Austin so have a slot for a cheap forward. If Costa was fit we would probably be looking at him and if he's confirmed fit for the double we would make the transfer later anyway. In this case get Remy in now and potentially get a double game week player. if Costa is confirmed fit you can make the transfer later (which you would do no matter who you decided to bring in for Austin/Benteke)

    - If you're going to captain a Chelsea player you'll captain Hazard any way so if Remy doesn't score massive points it won't be such a loss

    - If you do want a captain differential then what better one than Remy 😉

We really just need to hold fire right now and see what Mourinho says about Costa. If he's confirmed out for the double then Remy seems like a no brainer to me for that 3rd Chelsea spot we're all looking to fill.

There is the chance Drogba may get a start and people are already earmarking the Arsenal game but for me there's no doubt Remy is ahead of Drogba in the pecking order and Mourinho has already said he deserves to get some more games.

All in all I think Remy is a risk which might pay off and if he doesn't I don't think you'll lose much.

That's a tougher one - in that case I'd want to be more sure Costa was out injured for a month or more.

With Austin I'm happier to make the transfer knowing that Costa might be back

I'm going to give Austin one more week then reassess the Costa situ for the double. If he's def out for the double I'll get Remy. I'm worried moving now could see Costa play one of the games in the Double

That is frustrating I can imagine. 2 goals in last 2 games now though with limited minutes.

I'm not saying he's going to go crazy and start scoring hat tricks but he's worth the risk for me.

Agreed that it's not the same as comparing Remy v Costa with the same starts etc but still a good indicator that he has an eye for goal.

I'd say the last 2 weeks have helped a bit with this.

Remy is the standout option for me. His stock has understandably faded somewhat in the minds of fpl managers due to his lack of game time this season, but if we look back at his time at Newcastle and QPR there's no doubt he has the ability to produce the goods.
The only question is whether or not he'll play both games in the double? Hopefully the Presser will tell us more but as it stands I'm one of those who thinks Costa will be out for some time. Why gamble on an average forward whose form is unpredictable when you you can bag Chelsea's nailed on forward for a bargain price? As for Drogba, after watching him against Stoke I'd be amazed if he started another game this season.

terry, iva, haz for me. before 22nd nov they had kept only 3 cs in 11, then went on to keep 8 in the following 11. after that they have now kept 2 cs in 8. who knows what's gonna happen in the following 8 games.

I would wait on kos and not enter into the rotation and leaky which is liverpool.

Hard one to call, Giroud has that blank in33, but current form would you really want to drop him, only to bring him back?

I was being a bit sarcastic about knowing the exact score but in terms of going with your gut you should do it.

I went back through my posts last night and my initial instinct was Aguero to Benteke but ultimately didn't have the guts. Oh well I had Austin (c), got a bit of a lead in mini leagues I'm happy.

I can see Chelsea putting a few past a tired Qpr team this week.
They're poor defensively at the best of times so this could be 4/5.

It's the most tempted I've been to captain Hazard for a while I must admit. Still think I'll end up on Kane though.

I'd probably say Giroud if you have a decent enough 5th mid because Burnley is a decent fixture.

    Austin > Remy
Aguero > Sturridge for this game week?

I need to take a punt to break away from 2nd place in my ML who has killed my league and looking at the fixtures, I fancy Sturridge to do quite well against a rubbish Newcastle defence. Plus Aguero will free up a lot of cash to get me ready for the next DGWs.

    Thoughts?

This is what concerns me, but if he plays he could bring in a big points haul. After missing the Benteke giveaway last night I'm nearly brave enough to let go of Aguero as he is costing me in a big way.

Im aware that Sturridge might well have a blank incoming but I feel I could use some Liverpool coverage for MNF v Newcastle?

Fwiw I'm keeping Aguero. His record against United is quite good actually and even though I'm a United fan, I expect him to score. Sturridge might have a potential blank in GW33 if they win against Blackburn, so you would have to transfer him out as well. I would hold.

So I have 5 players unavailable for GW33 and have only 1FT.
The players being PVA, Naughton, Giroud, Bellerin and Alexis.
What would you do in this situation? I am thinking either Naughton or Bellerin out for the FT, but would you take a hit to remove another one? Was thinking Giroud out for Gomis/Remy. Is it worth it?

I think folks are dismissing CHE's defensive capabilities too lightly. Perceived wisdom is that CHE aren't keeping any CS. I don't believe Mourinho's approach has changed, and CS can be subject to the whim of luck - Charlie Adam's goal is a good example. I'm actually very likely to go with Terry and Ivanovic for the DGW, in preference to bringing in Remy. I think that has a great chance to pay off big, and that Remy is likely to be rotated with Drogba (or at least be substituted early).
    My 2c. Thoughts, anyone?

Agreed. With only a few weeks left, City slipping up and their main striker injured, I really think it's time that we'll see some narrow 1-0 wins. I have no interest in getting Remy at all.

You make a good point - especially about Adam's goal. I think Stoke had something like 2 shots?

My preference is usually always with attackers so I think I'll go Remy anyway but double decence might pay off.

    B) Puncheon and Phil Jones

What should be my strategy - attacking the lead by punts, or more of securing the 2nd position, as the leader is quite far ahead of me and catching him will be v. difficult..?
