    FPL is so unpredictable

QPR scored 7 goals this gameweek

Quite amazing considering both games were away matches

Austin and Benteke (c) sent me from 99k to 36k.

If only I hadn't been so terrible the rest of this season...

Somebody in my ML had those 3 + Guzan, and ended up with a GW score of 92 only, becos he captained Kane ...

Argh this is killing me. Currently have no ARS cover, chasing in my ML and dont think my rivals will sell austin so:

-My gut tells me to do Austin ---> Rooney (huge differential and could be great pick manchester derby)
-Everyone on here tells me Austin ---> Remy

No Arsenal cover is just something to deal with. I only have Bellerin and benching - just think of the blank after.

      Go with your gut 🙂

So after being battered this week it's time for drastic action in prep for dgw.
    Myhill (bergo)
    Pva, Ivan, Bertrand, bellerin, naughton
    Haz, silva, Erik, Boyd, carzola
    Aguero, Kane, giroud

2ft. Thinking naughton and caz are out. Any recommendations? Is mata worth the risk?

because both have blanks in 2 weeks and i want remy in this week, so one has to go.

currently my gut is telling me austin.

chelsea have only conceeded more than one goal on five occasions. One was 3 against everton and the other 5 against spurs.

Except for the last 2 games qpr usually only score 1 goal a game since december.

        so thanks my thinking anyway

    What to do from here?

    Panti, Foster
    Ivan, Terry, Bertrand, Naughton, PvA
    Hazard, Silva, Eriksen, Mane, Moses
    Aguero, Kane, Austin

    2 FT, 1.8 ITB

    Austin + Foster ---> Gomis + Davis?

I really fancy Gomis for some reason, I plan on using my WC in two GW's time (before the DGW) so I can get rid of him soon if it doesn't work out, he also has two easy fixtures. (EVE, lei)

Do it. I think Swansea as a team are cruising along with nothing to play for, so I personally will be staying away (most likely to anyway)...but Gomis might have a personal point to prove.

and if it's for 2 favourable fixtures, why not.

Oh, btw. I had done come calculations and doing Austin ---> Giroud (-4) a month or so back has officially paid off 😉 Ever since I did the move, I have gained 10 points off it (Assuming I would have captained Kane this week if I kept Giroud) 😛

          • 12 Years

haha nice. But you could have captained Giroud during that period and sold Giroud > Benteke(c) in GW31. That's what I did 😀

But in any case, captaining Austin this week made the switch worth it. You'd still be much better off keeping Giroud all the way and selling him on this week :razzle:

Shhh.. I don't think I would have captained Giroud over that period, and I never rated Benteke as a great option going into this week anyway, would never have gotten rid of an in-form Giroud for him.

Next couple of days decides a lot. If Liverpool win tonight there's a chance their DGW could be GW34 but it would need to be announced almost immediately. That would put the cat amongst the pigeons a bit and help people with wildcards.

After my weekend disaster with no DGW players I could use some help like that. 😉

True. I just think that Remy is the better player in a better team and is also in good form. Also double chelsea defence has been a nightmare so far.

Haha, I'm happy to give some advice, what you wanting opinions on?

No, don't need advice right now. Just need a Liverpool DGW in GW34. That would help a lot.

Basically I have got both DGWs badly wrong and that has cost me a lot of ground.

Worth looking at the last time Costa missed a run of games

    Costa missed GW's 23, 24 and 25

Remy started 2 games playing 182 minutes and scoring 1 goal and 0 assists

Drogba started 1 game playing 95 minutes scoring 0 goals and 0 assists

I've convinced myself to go without a Chelsea forward now or the DGW unless I know for sure Costa is fully fit which is unlikely

    1. McNulty
      • 16 Years

Small sample size, I'd rather just look at Remy's record when he starts. People tried to over analyse Leicester's defence when they went 5 at the back and noticed that no strikers had scored in the 5 games they played with that formation, then Kane goes and scores a hatrick.

Looking after my father's team and have a benching dilemma. Bench one of these:

    A) Cresswell (Stoke h)
    B) Silva (United a)
    C) Puncheon (Sunderland a)

He usually plays 4-4-2 so I am more inclined to bench a mid. At the moment I have left Silva out.

I feel a bit lost with this game now. For weeks I have been working on DGW strategies, but now I'm a bit lost.

    Where should my focus be?

I have two Chelsea players for the DGW, and don't want Remy.

Should we be looking at the fixture run ins, or should we be looking at the form players / players with something to play for?

At this point in the season, everyone tends to focus their transfers on DGWers. This could pay off and is almost a necessity but it does cause people to neglect a lot of form players that are scoring equally well.

Personally I'd focus on the doubles first

would focus on the doubles. Remy could be good if he seems to be nailed on for the double - will probably know by then.

Hmm should I do Guzan > K. Davis this week seeing as Guzan has a blank next week?

If you've no other GK for next week then yes, I'd do it this week as SOT are very likely to keep a cleanie this week.

If you're good with the rest of the team I'd do it. If there was a time to double up on Soton defence it is now.

Alternative Chelsea double game week players.

    There are too many questions floating around at the moment;
    - How long will Costa be out for?
    - Is it likely he’ll feature in the DGW.
    - Is Remy a nailed option
    - Is Drogba a worry?

Hazard is a given. Leading midfield points scorer, is a constant threat for Chelsea. May strive being the main man. Owned by all serious FPL players.

Then it’s between the two defenders. Terry or Ivan. Majority have at least one already, (I don’t, yet).

Which leaves one final spot open in our FPL teams.
Do you consider a defence double up or an attack duo? With Chelsea conceding a few sloppy goals lately, and always a threat in front of goal. An attack double edges it for me.

    Fabregas: Mr. Tick over.
    Value: 9.2
Much has been made about Cesc’s drop in form since the Christmas break. But two assists in his last two outings, may suggest his form is returning. Throughout the season, he hasn’t been the type of player who will return double digits. In fact, he’s only managed that three times during 2014/2015.

    From GW24 – 31:
    503 Minutes
    0 goals
    5 attempts
    1 on target
    2 assists
    1 clean sheet
    Penalty Area Touches: 18

The primary worry with Fabregas is his yellow card situation. One more yellow card and he faces a three match ban. That worry can be eased, if he isn’t booked vs QPR as the limit is extended to 15. Then there is, will he rediscover his form from the first half of the season.

    Willian: ‘see me after school’
    Value 7.7
Willian’s FPL record reminds me of old school reports. ‘Should do better’. Undoubtedly a very good player for Chelsea. His work effort and dedication must have Mourinho beaming. In terms of FPL however, he is a bit of a disappointment. Playing in a team like Chelsea, you’d expect more than just two goals and 4 assists.

    From GW24 – 31:
    486 Minutes
    1 goals
    10 attempts
    2 on target
    2 assists
    1 clean sheet
    Penalty Area Touches: 18

    Oscar: ‘What’s happened’
    Value: 8.0
Oscar is an interesting one. If you believe the recent press, there has been a disagreement between Oscar and Mourinho over tactics, which has seen Oscar not complete a full 90 minutes since the 31st January. Noticeably only playing 45 minutes in Chelsea’s last outing, and receiving criticism from Jose post game.

    From GW24 – 31:
    380 Minutes
    0 goals
    13 attempts
    5 on target
    0 assists
    2 clean sheets
    Penalty Area Touches: 22

Oscar’s stats don’t make for good reading for those looking to add a 3rd Chelsea player, yet he has had more shots than the two above, and more touches in the penalty box. So he is getting into threatening positions… at least.

Then there’s Remy: ‘the forgotten man’
    The Frenchman on everyone’s mind.
With Costa out for the next two at least, Remy appears favorite to take up the mantle and lead Chelsea’s attack…(we think).

    Value: 7.1

    From GW24 – 31:
    201 Minutes
    2 goals
    12 attempts
    6 on target
    0 assists
    1 clean sheet
    Penalty Area Touches: 15

Remy’s stats need to be taken into consideration. It’s no secret that most of his game time has come from coming off the bench.
Looking at stats alone, he appears to be in form. 2 goals in his last two games at least show he still knows where the goal is.

The concern with Remy is twofold.
Firstly will Costa be back in time for the double. Again, the press would have you believe Costa is targeting a return for the Arsenal game. And secondly, will Drogba be a hindrance.

There is of course more options. Ivanovic.
    Very briefly..
    From GW24 – 31:
    670 Minutes
    2 goals
    9 attempts
    4 on target
    1 assists
    2 clean sheet
    Penalty Area Touches: 23

Those fortunate enough still to hold a wildcard I’m very envious of. A punt on Remy for the next two could pay off nicely, and any news on Diego means the wildcard can sort your team out, fuss free.

For those of us who don’t have that luxury. Remy still appears to be a leading candidate for that third spot. It feels safer, than punting on Willian or Oscar.

Stats alone, Remy vs Ivan is a hard one to call.

Remy is the only one who appeals to me. Fabregas has got over 6 points once since Christmas and that was his 7 point haul this week. William and Oscar not even considerations.

Morning All. What to do with this lot?

    K Davis (Myhill)
    Terry, Alderweireld, Dawson (Naughton*, Wasilewski*)
    Hazard, Eriksen, Sanchez, Silva (Boyd)
    Kane, Kun, Giroud

    I'm thinking Naughton -> Sclhupp?

Advice on this team please guys? 2FTs and quite happy with my team.. Happy to give Austin another week before the blank with the points he's just given me as (c)! I guess Naughton is the obvious one to get rid of and save the other FT?

    Ospina
    McAuley - Clyne - Alderweireld
    Hazard - Sanchez - Eriksen - Silva
    Aguero - Kane - Austin

Krul - van Aanholt - Moses - Naughton

I have 2FT so I got to use one of them.. which transfer would you prefer this week:

    A) Cazorla -> Fabregas (prepare for DGW)
    B) Bellerin -> Schluoo (prepare for DGW, Bellerin would be on bench anyway this weeka
    C) Giroud -> Rooney (Giroud blank soon, Rooney in manchester derby?)

Would you do Benteke -> Remy this week?

Remy does have qpr, but Benteke is a streaky players and he now has 7 goals and 1 assist in 5 games, is on pens and is nailed on for 90 mins each week.

Factor in the unknowns surrounding Costa's return and LIV's DGW, and I think it might be worth waiting a week.

    Thoughts?
