Myself, Granville and Jonty welcomed Fantasy Premier League royalty for this week’s episode, as reigning champion, Tom Fenley, made his belated ScoutCast debut.

Tom joined us to talk us through his difficult post-championship season, whilst lending his informed view the situation facing the current Fantasy Football Scout league leader, and FPL number one, Simon March, aka “Dufflinks”.

Of course, we were also glad to have Tom’s expertise on board to help us grapple with the latest round of topics fed to us by the community. Amongst the many issues tackled, we attempt to explain the withering form of Sergio Aguero, discussing the merits or otherwise of an Argentine exit strategy.

This episode was recorded on Tuesday evening with a live Hangout broadcast. If you missed that and you really want to catch up on the latest beard developments (Tom abstains from this), you can view the Hangout in full via the movie below.

If you prefer to have your ScoutCast slip down that little bit easier, you’ll be wanting the rather more slick and refined audio version via this link or the first player below.

Be sure to subscribe to our Youtube channel if you want to be kept informed of future live ScoutCasts.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Good morning,

Wilcarding gw34 and chasing in my ml, so desperate to make some moves for next 2.

Really tight on money so compromises needed 😕

    a) Panti, Austin => Davis, Berahino (could also save other ft in case "something happens" this week)

    b) Panti, Austin => Myhill, Remy (no money for Austin => Remy only)

    **********
I suppose Nasri has been injured recently?
Looks like he got only 14 mins last gw, so another sub appearence likely this week.
Could he get start gw33 already?

He's been dropped. Rumours he's spatbhis dummy out.
It wouldn't suprise me if City go with one up front on Sunday with Milner/Nasri replacing Dzeko.

Think they need to at this point...

As a United fan I'm hoping he persists with this 4-4-2 variation

He does tend to use 4-2-3-1 against tougher teams. I wrote about this a few weeks ago. The Manchester derby could actually be the best opportunity for a while to captain Aguero.

Trouble is there are other very good options - Chelsea, Spurs and Arsenal all have good fixtures.

In fact... They could both play with Navas going to the bench as well

          Hmmm that is interesting then.
If I go for Berahino and save this weeks transfer I could risk it with Nasri instead of Yaya next week. This would give me money to get Baines for that week too.

          Thanks

So, Kane vs Hazard for cap..

Both have penalties, and high goal involvement %, comes down to a bit of luck imo and also how much the other team want to go for the win

Seeing Kane is the runaway leader but don't trust spurs. Hazard cap for me

You don't need to trust Spurs, only Sir Harry 😉

That being said, previous to the last 5 games he scored in 9 out of 11 matches, only blanking in 2.

In the last 5 games he's blanked 3 times (granted he scored 2 and 3 in the other games).

It's a tough call this week.

Not yet - going to wait for the press conference.

Part of me is starting to doubt it (for no real reason than fear) but I'll probably still go for him eventually - no rush to make the transfer until after I hear Mourinho.

Kane I think (but I don't have Remy).

Sherwood will attack attack attack as usual. It's the fixture that nails the choice for me.

Really stumped here 2FT not to be wasted what would you do?

    Panti/Krul

    Terry Clyne Bellerin Toby Hutton

    Haz Sanchez Silva Eriksen Boyd

    Kane Aguero Giroud

    2Ft 0.2 in the bank

Hutton out seems obvious but with only 4.4 to play with doesnt seem like anyone worth getting. Bellerin out would give me slightly better options but at the expense of his game this week

We dont have many options in that price bracket unfortunately, so have to go for Leicester/Hull defenders.
Sanchez to Ozil(or Eriksen to Liverpool mid) should give cash for Hutton/Bellerin to Skrtel/Ivan.

PVA for a later DGW if I can keep him over the blank but doubtful. Duff maybe. Burnley at least seem to have a defence 😆

I could downgrade them or Aguero alright but might be best to do that after the blank

personally wouldn't bother with a leicester defender for the reason they're very likely to concede 2+ in pretty much every game, negating the lure of a DGW.

Since you have to do something, you could consider Krul-Schemichel or Boyd-Cambiasso.

Schmeichel has a better fix than krul in gw33, and you have save his points for the DGW

I know it's too early, and many things dependes on Liverpool preyers perform in next 2 weeks, but how this looking for GW34 WC team?

    SCHMEICHEL - Ospina
    TERRY - SKRTEL - BRUCE - PvA - 6.0 defender
    HAZARD - Silva - HENDERSON - Sanchez - Ameobi
    STURRIDGE - REMY - Kane

    GW 35 Remy TO Giroud
    GW 36 Sturridge TO Aguero

2FTs and I'm WC'ing for GW34, so I'm looking at some short-term punts. The problem is I can't see anything that would be a major upgrade this week ❓

    2FT 0.0ITB

    Myhill
    Terry Fonte Rose
    Hazard Silva Özil Eriksen
    Kun Giroud Kane

    Foster* Moses PVA Zouma

I will sell Özil and Giroud next week for one week punts. Zouma is obviously a problem but something I can deal with a WC. So maybe just something like Moses to Cork to get 0.9ITB and have more freedom next week?

    FPL amazes me sometimes.

Sanchez rose last night on the back of only his 2nd goal in 7 games and ahead of Burnley-Blank-Chelsea.

His goal was a goalkeeping error (so had an element of luck) and 2 other Arsenal mids (Ramsey 9 pts and Ozil 10 pts) scored well in the game. Yet Sanchez has 37k transfers in.

I guess it's a mark of the hold Sanchez still has on people's minds. He is a good player that will doubtless produce some goals and assists. But he's no better value at 11.3 (with Ramsey, Ozil and Cazorla in the 8.5 to 9.0 range) than he was before the weekend.

Well actually if someone had a wildcard they were intending to use in 2 weeks' time and was playing punts till then and had a FT spare I could see it. But that wouldn't account for 37k transfers. 😉

I agree with you because of the blank. However, I do think he is much more likely to pop up with a hattrick than ozil, cazorla or, this season, ramsey. He has been off the boil a bit but he can be an extremely explosive player and I'm sure he will get back to that form at some point.

      I'm selling after burnley though.

    I'm keeping Austin.

Other than Kane, he is the best value player this season. Bench for chelsea and the blank - No harm having a cheap striker on the bench and playing 3-5-2 for two weeks.

Really hope he comes back to haunt all the sellers!

Playing 3-5-2 is fine if your 5th mid is decent. Who are you going with in midfield?

Why don't you just get rid of him if you're not going to play him for the next 2 and the chances are you won't play him in gw34 due to other DGW players being more appealing

I would definitely start in GW34, benching Mane

The reason for not selling is that I can get a decent number of DGWs by selling players like sanchez, eriksen, PVA (whose fix are so terrible I don't care about the future DGW) Benteke etc.

I am loathe to sell players like Austin who are such ridiculously good value and perfectly benchable. It just seems like a waste of transfers.

My most memorable moment this season was when I took a hit to bring Giroud in for Rooney and swapped armband from Sanchez to that frenchman.

Rooney got 16 points, Giroud (c) -4 and Sanchez 10p.

So it as 26 point swing 😀

I bought Bellerin in the gameweek he first scored in. Was part of a 4 point hit including Giroud. Think it netted me +11 points or something. Shame Giroud blanked after that for a couple of weeks!

Also bought and benched Chambers for something like 4-5 weeks. Finally ended up playing him when he got 18 🙂

Not to rub it in, but I think that's a 34 points swing if you include the hit:

      Old team:
      16+10*2=36

      New team
      -4-4+10=2

I took a hit to get ADM in for Tadic in GW8 and have felt sorry for myself ever since, but yours is even worse.

Hi guys, I'm thinking of getting Chelsea and Liverpool players as much as possible for GW34, then I use my WC for the remaining four fixtures. This is my team:

    Panti (Foster*)
    Schlupp, PVA, Dawson (Wollscheid, Naughton*)
    Mane, Hazard, Eriksen, Silva (Fellaini)
    Aguero, Kane, Austin

    1FT and 5.1 ITB

100% this week I'm doing Austin > Remy. I'm also thinking of doing Fellaini > Henderson and then bench him for GW33. For GW33 I will be doing Naughton > Ivanovic. GW34 Eriksen > Sterling or Coutinho. Then use my WC. Problem is I will be playing without a GK for GW33. Should I take a hit for a GK? Or maybe get a GK which will play in GW33 and has double GW34?

    Thanks

Schmeichel for Foster looks obvious and with 2 extra games should easily repay a hit. He also pairs well with Panti for the rest of the season.

Contemplating Remy, but DGW minutes is a concern for me. I've two options for Chelsea cover and it comes down to Remy or Fabragas. A seems safer, but Remy could be a nice differential. Either way the move needs to be made this GW and not next. And with no wildcard and limited transfers between now and the double I don't want to take even more hits than I already will be to amend the Remy minutes problem should it surface just before the DGW.

    A: Ivan, Hazard & Fabragas
    B: Ivan, Hazard & Remy

    Any thoughts?
