Last weekend saw Mondogoal host a very special contest in honour of Fantasy Football Scout community member, Doosra. We look back on the outcome, catch up on the progress in Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship and select our starting XI for this weekend’s contests.

Mondogoal’s support for Hammers fan Doosra following his illness was well received, as an array of Fantasy Football community members competed for a selection of West Ham goodies: a signed shirt and ball, plus tickets to their final home match of the season.

After a hard-fought tussle, with my own FFS XI in the running right to the final whistle at Selhurst Park, it was “sreeves” who eventually won out with a tally of 117.97, ahead of “jj4eva186” on 103.56, with my boys finishing third with 100.38.

Gutsy picks, including Alexis Sanchez, Jermain Defoe and Wayne Rooney were behind sreeve’s victory, as I was left frustrated by Sergio Aguero’s failings in City’s Monday night loss at Palace.

Congratulations and thanks goes to our winner and all those who took part – together we raised £180 which will be donated to Doosra and his family – FFS are going to double that to £360.

This week, Mondogoal have another special West Ham themed contest, with tickets to their player awards up for grabs. The contest is totally free to enter so come join us as we attempt to win Doosra the big prize.

The £30k World Championship

Elsewhere, Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship rumbles on.

Fantasy Football Scout’s lineup narrowly missed out on qualification last weekend, finishing third in the £10 entry by just four points.

Unperturbed, we’ll be entering another team in this week’s qualifiers in a bid to be in the running for the final day booty.

How Does it Work?

So far, 86 qualifiers have gone forward to the final Gameweek contest, with another 84 places still open. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for just £2.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests this weekend. You have until 12.35 on Saturday to select your line-up for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

The more you lay down with your stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five duking it out in the £50 stake contest.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal line-up with the click of a button.

Having multiple teams will obviously increase your outlay but, with the ability to block out defences, you’ll certainly be increasing your chances of hitting a big score.

Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Line-up in Other Contests”.

FF Scout Gameweek 32 Picks

mg

We’re sticking with the tactic of selecting the uber-expensive (21.4) Eden Hazard and building our team around his substantial talents. His goal threat and ability to draw points from fouls is indispensable – particularly when Chelsea are visiting desperate local rivals QPR this weekend.

With substantial funds spent on Hazard, we’re forced to seek out budget options up front. Having said that, our trio of strikers all show promise ahead of the weekend, with West Brom’s Brown Ideye and West Ham’s Diafra Sakho both enjoying plum home ties with Leicester and Stoke respectively. Glenn Murray is our third pick, fresh from five goals in as many appearances: at just 6.7 million, he’s a steal for Palace’s trip to Sunderland.

Our defence is built around our assessment of the top clean sheet potential on offer – Southampton at home to Hull, Liverpool at home to Newcastle and Arsenal at Burnley. Kelvin Davis in goal offers us a cheap route to doubling on Ronald Koeman’s robust defence.

Indeed, we’re backing Southampton for a big win against a suffering Hull side: both Sadio Mane and Dusan Tadic were dropped to the bench at Everton last time out but we’re banking on the duo earning recalls as the pair find a place in our midfield. It’s a gamble, but one worth taking given their quality and the state of their opponents.

Of course, we’ll be tweaking this lineup right up until the early kick-off on Saturday. A reminder that the deadline for submitting and editing your Mondogoal lineup is 12.35 tomorrow, just ahead of Swansea’s clash with Everton.

Click here to sort your squad.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Replace aguero with rooney b4 this gw?

Yay or nay? Already have silva for city mid cover

I know utd has tough fixtures but i feel they can score against any team. Plus aguero is just not performing!

Any other suggestions for aguerp replacement will be welcome. Also thinking of gomis as i have no swan cover

I switched Aguero > Rooney last week and not regretting it - Rooney is the focal point of United attack at the moment.

anyone considering Walters (if fit) against West Ham this week? he's registered a goal or assist in 6 out of the 8 matches he's played against London sides this season.

    Diego Costa update:

That would leave the 26-year-old targeting the visit of Crystal Palace to Stamford Bridge on 3 May, most likely ruling him out of the games against QPR, Manchester United, Arsenal and Leicester City.

Bit of a crossroads here...current team for tomorrow:

    Myhill (Pants)
    Bertrand, Clyne, Ivan, Dawson (Naughton)
    Mane, Eriksen, Silva, Hazard (Boyd)
    Aguero, Kane (Costa)

    1 FT, 1.4 ITB

    A) Costa -> Sturridge for GW 32, 0 transfers for 33, Mane + Eriksen -> Henderson + Fabregas for 34...costs me 0 and gives me 3 Chelsea 2 Liverpool for DGW 34 but comes with Sturridge rotation risk.

    B) Costa -> Giroud for GW 32, 0 transfers for 33, Naughton -> Terry and Mane -> Henderson for 34...costs me 0 and gives me 3 Chelsea, 1 Liverpool for DGW 34.

    C) Costa -> Giroud and Naughton -> Moreno for GW 32, 0 transfers for 33, Mane -> Henderson and Eriksen -> Fabregas for DGW 34....costs me -4 and gives me 3 Chelsea, 1 Liverpool for DGW 34.

If I was assured of playing time for Sturridge, I think I would do A but I'm struggling here.

    Any other suggestions are welcome.

this is a good way to describe it. he is the most expedient choice in a few scenarios - for those with no WC, for example.

    Current team

    Foster Myhill
    Bertrand Ivan Hutton Bellerin Naughton

    1FT, 7.5m

    WC team

    Pantillimon Schmiechel
    Ivan Bertrand Skrtel Schlupp Duff
    Hazard Silva Mane Puncheon Boyd

Need to use one of my 2 FTs - any help appreciated. (£3.4m in bank - players in bold aren't available next wk & JWP probably a sub - no WC left)

Thinking either Austin>Remy or Kos>Skirtel/Chelsea defender (in preparation for double week).

    PANTS
    Dawson, KOS, Fonte
    Eriksen, Silva, Hazard, Siggy
    AUSTIN, Kun, Kane

I think most everyone was hoping to have brought in Costa at this point!

Remy comes with risk but against QPR his ex team this week is the best opportunity for him to alleviate any doubts and it's a necessary risk in your situation with no WC.. the risk is mitigated by the fact that you need to set yourself up for GW33 and 34 and you definitely won't be alone in making the choice. If it pays off, you will be rewarded, but if not, there won't be too much lost!

    B Foster ---> Schmeichel
    C Foster + Austin ---> Schmeichel + Remy -4
    D Foster + Austin ---> Schmeichel + Sturridge -4

Krul is my only playing keeper. I'm 0.2 short of Austin ---> Sturridge.
I could bench Sturridge in GW33, save my FT next week and bring in 3 DGWer for a hit in GW34.

Who to get in for Austin? Team is:

    Myhill(LEI)
    Clyne(HUL)-Terry(qpr)-Toby(HUL)
    Hazard(qpr)-Eriksen(AVL)-Sanchez(bur)-Silva(mun)
    ???-Giroud(bur)-Kane(AVL)

    Subs: Guzan(tot)-Downing(STK)-Dawson(LEI)-Naughton

I'm thinking either Rooney or Remy in for Austin. Or even Boyd for Downing. Thoughts?

Could be a masterstroke getting Remy in now or a complete fail.
          Drogba could get the minutes...

          At least Schurrle is gone.

If you aim to keep Kun and Kane, it's a direct choice between Sturridge and Remy for the double.

          I prefer Sturridge.

              Sturridge + Fabregas

              vs

              Costa/Remy + Sterling

They also have 5m difference so it depends what you do with that.

Remy gives you money to get any Pool mid/defender. Sturridge restricts your ability to get three good Chelsea players.

Aye, but Sturridge is arguably the best captain choice for that week. So I've made him a priority for captaincy reasons. We've seen this GW what damage the right DGW captain can do.

They're just interpreting what Mourinho said, they see it as a straight "Costa out for NEXT 4 games", people on here are more suspicious when he's vague.

            Ivan Bertrand Skrtel Schlupp Duff
            Hazard Silva Mane Puncheon Boyd
            Aguero Sturridge Kane

Mane to become Henderson in GW 34.

No, I'd wait until after the blank. So just focus on getting a decent GW33, and then pack it full of DGWers on the WC. Or wait until after the DGW to repair the team.

Using it this week seems a waste.

GW34: Remy starting is a risk as Mou usually opts for Drogba to start against utd as he has a good record against them.
