Our duel with Paddy this week has us investing faith in Chelsea’s stand-in striker, Arsenal’s Chilean livewire and Manchester United’s Spanish playmaker.

With Diego Costa out of contention for the time being, it falls upon Loic Remy to shoulder the goal scoring responsibility for Chelsea. The French marksman has taken up the mantle in the Blues’ last two fixtures, bagging the winners against Hull City and Stoke City. Couple this with the fact that Jose Mourinho’s men have recorded shut-outs in five of their last nine home clashes and we’re willing to take up Paddy’s 9/1 odds on Remy to score two or more goals and Chelsea to keep a clean sheet and part with our first £3.

Our second, and favourite, wager of the week takes us across the capital to North London. Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez rifled a 20-yard strike past the flailing arms of Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet last Gameweek and looks primed to keep Burnley’s rearguard busy when the Gunners travel to Turf Moor this evening. Considering that the Clarets have netted just one goal in their previous five outings, we’re swayed by Paddy’s 12/1 offer on Sanchez to score two ore more goals and Arsenal to keep a clean sheet, parting with another £4.

The Manchester derby is the destination of our final bet, with Red Devils midfielder Juan Mata piquing our interest in light of his brace against Liverpool in Gameweek 30. Manchester City’s defence has been breached in every one of their last seven road matches, while United have recorded three shut-outs in their last five. All things considered, Paddy’s 10/1 offer on Mata to score and Manchester United to keep a clean sheet looks like a fine source of investment for our remaining £3.

Captain choice is too important to risk. If Sterling fails and Kane scores 2 you will see a big drop in your rank. That won't happen the other way around because so many will captain Kane.

Plenty of other areas to take a risk which can't do you much harm.

Remy has less than 4% ownership. A risk with lots of upside and not much downside.

This might be a good week to bench Silva but I'd probably bench Mane.

I'd sell Tekkers next week. The guy is on fire, he still has goals in him and you'll get a preview of the new Chelsea formation with Remy as the main striker - or not 🙂

If you have the big Fella you've got to play him, particularly in a derby that MU should win.

As to who to bench then, that is a tough one - Cazorla? one of your strikers?

  15. GreennRed

A double gameweek means that a player might play two games in that game week.

It does NOT give them superpowers, turn out of form strikers into goal machines, turn defenders from a previously porous defence into Maldini, give attacking midfielders extra yards of pace, magically make the opposition poor, especially if they've little to play for.

They're like a half-price sale item. If you'd never consider them in a single GW they're prob not worth it for a DGW and you'll waste two transfers on them.

Not saying not to. Just buyer beware. Remy has little motivation to score in a team with some goalscoring options that has the leage won. Austin, Benteke and Kane have no DGW but are primary scorers in teams whose season could hinge on goal difference.

      1/ Check points per game ----- 4+ ?
      2/ Check current form -----------4+ ?
      3/ Check future fixtures --- He's a keeper?

If all three check then your target player is worth a hit.

Also; if your target player replaces your second GK or mid/def bencher, the above three don't apply but he won't be worth a hit unless its to give you the cash to get your primary target
