The Fantasy Football Scout lineup was pipped at the post in last weekend’s Mondogoal contests, earning second and third placings – this despite backing the Crystal Palace points avalanche at Sunderland.

Yannick Bolasie and Glenn Murray combined to earn us almost half of our 106.90 points total but that wasn’t enough to deny Mondogoal heavyweight, “ChrisDAFC”. He earned his sixth spot in Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship via his 112.97 haul and also edged past us in the special West Ham Awards Dinner contest.

Chris now looks well set up to compete for the big final day prize but we’ll be locking horns with him again this week in our quest to earn a qualifying spot to take him on.

The £30,000 World Championship

How Does it Work?

So far, over 100 qualifiers have now gone forward to the final Gameweek contest. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for just £2.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests this weekend. You have until 12.35 on Saturday to select your line-up for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

The more you lay down with your stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five competing in the £50 stake contest.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal line-up with the click of a button.

Having multiple teams will obviously increase your outlay but, with the ability to block out defences, you’ll certainly be increasing your chances of hitting a big score.

Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Line-up in Other Contests”.

FF Scout Gameweek 33 Picks

mg

Despite their miserable form and defeat at Old Trafford, we’ve gambled on building our current selection around Man City’s Etihad encounter with West Ham.

City have a point to prove and the Hammers look to be the perfect opposition to aid their recovery. Sam Allardyce’s men are also in a malaise and have little to play for. With that in mind, we’ve backed a City clean sheet and are putting faith in David Silva and Sergio Aguero to pepper Adrian’s goal and emerge with points aplenty.

That investment in City has forced us to discount Eden Hazard for the first time in over a month. The Belgian has been a Mondogoal mainstay for us but, with the Stamford Bridge clash with United looking hard to call, we’ve chosen to look elsewhere.

Palace’s form guys – Glenn Murray and Yannick Bolasie earn predictable places in our squad. To be fair, after last weekend, we almost feel obliged to retain their services.

The selection of Everton trio Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman and Aaron Lennon might surprise a few, although the Toffees clearly offer the potential of a clean sheet at home to a shot-shy Burnley. Coleman and Baines bristle with attacking threat, while Lennon is a livewire on the flank with two goals and an assist in his last four.

Free-scoring Leicester City help to complete our XI. While Jamie Vardy earned the plaudits for his at-the-death winner at the Hawthorns, we’ve gone for the cheaper option of David Nugent. He may lack Vardy’s energy and pace, but Nugent certainly has the craft to play a key role in the Foxes vital home clash with Swansea – he’s also expected to be on spot-kicks. Back in midfield, Marc Albrighton is our budget enabler: a surprise starter last time out, we’d expect him to retain his spot in the Leicester lineup and, at just 4.4 million, we have to gamble on his selection.

We’re expecting to tinker further. Crucially, with no early kick-off on Saturday, we’ll have a view on the teamsheets from a quartet of three o’clock matches before submitting our final squad. Mondogoal’s weekend contests will close at 2.55pm on Saturday.

Hi, thnx for the response but some extra information about the combo you want:

I'm planning a -4 for this week, next week en the week after that. This would be possible with both A and B, for the mix you suggest I have to take a -4/-8/-4 in the next 3 weeks ...

Captain Kun or Silva, and why?

Have both and going Aguero I think. He has more chance of 2,3,4 goals whereas I don't think Silva would get more than 1

Kun over Silva in my opinion.

      Better hair
      Stronger legs
      Cooler stepfather
      Preferable accent

Lol jokes aside, i would go for Kun since he got back to scoring last week, and Silva has less chance of assists on corners/set pieces against a strong tall defense such as West Ham.

Logic will tell you Silva (Fantastic home returns over last 3!) Whilst Aguero before the OT match had been struggling. However Kun does have the potential for some outrageous returns.

Personally, most people in my ML have Silva but not Kun. So I'm going with Kun for a differential !

I have huge confidence in a Citeh cleanie and Aleks is due a goal

You will close the gap regardless this week, so why not risk being 5/10 points close for the risk of losing 3/4

    2FT & WC:

Yeah, I'm tempted by those moves. Would have to play Wollschied this week though.

Alternative is to gamble on Remy and go Sanchez to Bolasie and Naughton to Baines this week.

Depends on whether you have a wild card...

If you do have a wc, your proposed moves are defo one's I have seen posted on this forum by many, and I think make good sense. I didn't do Bolasie myself because it felt to me like I'd be chasing his big points, and he is not a proven consistent scorer. Baines and Everton are doing well, and have a weak opponent at home, and that seems like a sure way to get 6-8 points, but not the all-or-nothing "big haul" (I like to go for attackers when I punt in my dreams that I get a lottery guy who gets the Bolasie-like 24-point game).

REALLY, REALLY need some help please. Think this is a crucial couple of weeks, and I don't want to lose my top position in mini league!!

    DDG (CHE) Myhill (CRY)
Clyne (STK) Terry (MUN) Dawson (CRY) Hutton Bellerin
Silva (WHU) Hazard (MUN) Eriksen (NEW) Sterling Tiote
    Kane (NEW) Remy (MUN) Giroud

    1 ft £1.3itb

Okay, I think it's only fair that I give you a more thoughtful, if not late, reply:

I think you can go with ten men, playing Tiote and benching Sterling and Giroud for their pending DGW. You may even hose that ML lead, but only temporarily. You will have 2FT next week for the DGW to see if you need to hold or lose Remy. You can use the other FT to sell Eriksen for Henderson, Coutinho, etc.

Ive decided to sell. Taking up a valuable chelsea slot. I have 2FT & will do Remy & Sanchez > Vardy & Fabregas.

I think Mourinho will go with Drogba regardless of Remy fitness against UTD as its the safe thing to do. Also next week if Costa trains all week. Remy could just get a couple of sub appearances in the DGW.

Fabregas will play in the hole. Possibly against Rooney!! Its too good an chance imo & he will start all 3 baring injury.

          No offence intended!

Just remember a couple of times I've seen you give out advice and it hasn't turned out that way - predicting Moore would start over Wasilewski earlier in the season, and the Pole kept his spot for a good couple of months. More recently expecting Schupp to be dropped, which hasn't happened.

None of us can predict the future, and its good to have fans of clubs giving their views on players, but there's a danger in the community then becoming reliant on one person's opinion, unless they happen to be the manager of said club.

            I understand.

That was just a prediction. I never told anyone to buy Moore, or anything. Everyone on the forums, too, wanted Schlupp dropped after the West Ham game. And rightly so. But, now, he seems safe after a good performance on the weekend - whether it be a back 3, 4 or 5.

Agreed. I just try to do my best for the community, that's all.

It wasn't meant like that, and you know it. It was a label so people knew who I supported and could ask me questions.

That's unnecessary when Davies was trying to offer help as a Leicester fan, He is kind enough to try to assist with any issues about the club he supports, it's up to you whether to take his word as gospel. I'm an Everton fan so try to offer advice with things like Everton's penalty taker (answer - absolutely no idea), it doesn't mean everything, or anything, I say will be correct.

          I'm just not sure Billy

It's Kolarov but I'm not sure it's worth either

          a) playing with no keeper and going 4-3-3 (or benching Mane or Berahino)
          b) a hit and benching Terry or Lescott

I have no keeper and only 3 mids, so I've currently got 8 players plus Zouma. So I'm definitely taking a hit.

He's only had 3 all season tbf

For it comes down to a choice if you rule out a Chelsea striker

      a) Ivan and a mid for up to 7.3 (and no chance of getting Silva/Mata)
      b) Fabregas and Chester and I can get Silva/Mata

Have no keeper this week 🙁

C)No hits, take them next week for liverpool players !
