The Fantasy Football Scout lineup was pipped at the post in last weekend’s Mondogoal contests, earning second and third placings – this despite backing the Crystal Palace points avalanche at Sunderland.

Yannick Bolasie and Glenn Murray combined to earn us almost half of our 106.90 points total but that wasn’t enough to deny Mondogoal heavyweight, “ChrisDAFC”. He earned his sixth spot in Mondogoal’s £30,000 World Championship via his 112.97 haul and also edged past us in the special West Ham Awards Dinner contest.

Chris now looks well set up to compete for the big final day prize but we’ll be locking horns with him again this week in our quest to earn a qualifying spot to take him on.

The £30,000 World Championship

How Does it Work?

So far, over 100 qualifiers have now gone forward to the final Gameweek contest. To qualify, you need to win one of Mondogoal’s £30k qualifying contests – you can enter these for just £2.

How Do I Enter?

Mondogoal are running three more qualifying contests this weekend. You have until 12.35 on Saturday to select your line-up for either the £2, £10 or £50 contests.

The more you lay down with your stake, the more chance you have of making it through, with just 22 teams competing in the £10 contest and only five competing in the £50 stake contest.

If you’re consistent with your picks you may even be able to progress with more than one team – you can have up to ten entries in the Championship final come May.

Don’t forget, you can enter multiple contests with the same Mondogoal line-up with the click of a button.

Having multiple teams will obviously increase your outlay but, with the ability to block out defences, you’ll certainly be increasing your chances of hitting a big score.

Once you’ve created your squad for one contest, go to your list of entries, click on a contest and then click “Enter This Line-up in Other Contests”.

FF Scout Gameweek 33 Picks

mg

Despite their miserable form and defeat at Old Trafford, we’ve gambled on building our current selection around Man City’s Etihad encounter with West Ham.

City have a point to prove and the Hammers look to be the perfect opposition to aid their recovery. Sam Allardyce’s men are also in a malaise and have little to play for. With that in mind, we’ve backed a City clean sheet and are putting faith in David Silva and Sergio Aguero to pepper Adrian’s goal and emerge with points aplenty.

That investment in City has forced us to discount Eden Hazard for the first time in over a month. The Belgian has been a Mondogoal mainstay for us but, with the Stamford Bridge clash with United looking hard to call, we’ve chosen to look elsewhere.

Palace’s form guys – Glenn Murray and Yannick Bolasie earn predictable places in our squad. To be fair, after last weekend, we almost feel obliged to retain their services.

The selection of Everton trio Leighton Baines, Seamus Coleman and Aaron Lennon might surprise a few, although the Toffees clearly offer the potential of a clean sheet at home to a shot-shy Burnley. Coleman and Baines bristle with attacking threat, while Lennon is a livewire on the flank with two goals and an assist in his last four.

Free-scoring Leicester City help to complete our XI. While Jamie Vardy earned the plaudits for his at-the-death winner at the Hawthorns, we’ve gone for the cheaper option of David Nugent. He may lack Vardy’s energy and pace, but Nugent certainly has the craft to play a key role in the Foxes vital home clash with Swansea – he’s also expected to be on spot-kicks. Back in midfield, Marc Albrighton is our budget enabler: a surprise starter last time out, we’d expect him to retain his spot in the Leicester lineup and, at just 4.4 million, we have to gamble on his selection.

We’re expecting to tinker further. Crucially, with no early kick-off on Saturday, we’ll have a view on the teamsheets from a quartet of three o’clock matches before submitting our final squad. Mondogoal’s weekend contests will close at 2.55pm on Saturday.

Not sure. I fancy Remy to play and you do have a sub if he does even if it is only Dawson. Have you considered Sanchez to Fabragas maybe? Did you get through in LMS? I just scraped through I think the UAE have 3 of the 57left in (inc you)

This is my current GW33 team:

    Pieters - Dawson - Schlupp - Alder
    Walters - Fellaini - Hazard
    Kane - Rooney - Remy

    (Panti - Foster - Cazorla - Sanchez - Naughton)

    1FT - 8.5m ITB

Think Cazorla to Silva is a no brainer. Then what should I do:

    A) Remy -> Aguero -4, play without a keeper
    B) Get playing keeper for -4, go without Aguero
    C) Get Aguero and playing keeper for -8
    D) Other suggestions?

    Chaps, help needed please!

My H2H rival is -4 this week, but he has Baines & Coleman I have NO Everton defenders.....do I:

a.) Is it worth me taking -4 to get Stones?

b.) Or do I just keep the 4 point advantage and hope Burnley score 🙂

I'd say b, only 'cause I feel like Burnley has a pretty good chance of getting one in on them. And, if you get Stones in for a hit, you are still quite far behind his Baines and Coleman duo if they were to keep a cleanie. And you wash away those 4 points already in the bag. A bird in the hand, and all that.

With a mini-league goal you need to "attack" not defend - don't make transfers to cover your no.2 unless he is a safe distance behind. I would ignore spending points to get an Everton player

My worry would be that I'd then have Remy for the double with Costa lurking, and if Remy doesn't play this week I'd have 10 players. Sanchez would go next week regardless.

Of course it seems odd. I found it seriously weird getting Murray over the Chelsea lone striker, but all the signs were there. The stats backed it up, so I pulled the trigger and it paid off. Leicester are 2nd in so many stats tables for attacking and first in some. They are free scoring and have a double too.
You don't like it because its not a sexy move, but you are so sexy Lisa.

well fab is a shoe in and it gives me a dgw player, Remy is faffing about and Costa back in training. Murray in form and decent fixtures this week and next.

Don't really want to Sanchez sitting on my bench as already have henderson there

also if you look at Hendo's points over the season, he gets FPL points without Gerrard in the team .. when Gerrard has played Hendo's output is lower

Most will say Hendo given his recent form ( penalties and set piece duties and playing further forward) but Gerrard is back this weekend and will take over set pieces and Pk's.. if both Gerrard and Hendo start in the DGW, expect Hendo to be more withdrawn, for that reason I'm probably going for Cout or Sterling

Pretty disappointed about Rooney maybe going to MID. Especially as he is my only major differential this week and is on hot form

What looks better as a 1-week punt?

    A) Silva (WHM)

    B) Mirallas (BUR)

    C) Siggy (lei)

    D) Other

Remy uncertainty is an issue as i brought him in last week.

What are Remy owners planning to do this GW? stick or twist?

      Absolutely no idea.

it's a tricky one, Jose left no clues whether he will start. Drogba looked poor against QPR, nevertheless, his record against utd is decent and he played against utd earlier in the season.

I would stick but being a non owner it is easy to stay that. I just thing back to the number of games where Jose said similar things about Costa and then played him. Coupled with Man U's makeshift defence isn't it worth the risk?

i agree with you, the risk can pay off but if he doesn't start can be costly as there are other strikers to consider, Murray, Vardy, Nugent.

I know there is a lot of talk about Leicester but they are not suddenly Real Madrid. They are rooted to the bottom of the league. They are not essential you could use that transfer for Liverpool player next week with so much more potential from now until the end of the season.

good point, however let's look at their fixtures, Swans (h), Burnley(a), Chelsea (h).

            Swansea defence is injury ridden.

Burnley will go all out in attack due to premiership survival which can leave them open at the back.

Chelsea game can see Leicester blank.

Out of the three upcoming games for LEI, Vardy and Nugent have great chance of racking up points.

      2 FTs, no WC left.

      Sanchez + Remy > Fabregas + Vardy

I can't be bothered with the uncertainty of Remy, plus his fixtures are pretty tough.

      Worth it?

If in doubt it is usually the best way in my experience. You only end up filling your team with rubbish you regret further down the line.

Think I only have one FT but I'm not that sold on lots of the DGW options. Will get another Pool player in, that's probably about it.

        Cheers 🙂
