It’s not often that we get to spend a good portion of the ScoutCast discussing Leicester City’s rich array of Fantasy talent.

That’s how this week’s episode pans out, as Luke aka “D1sable” does his George Boyd act to come off the bench and join myself, Granville and Jonty to analyse the impending double Gameweek.

We tackle the usual ScoutCast regulars, whilst deflecting the latest round of questions from the community, assessing the great Foxes hunt, the Hazard versus Sterling gamble and even how we can possibly eek out a valid target amongst the Hull City squad. Meanwhile, Granville is dreaming of a three-digit points bonanza as he joins the world’s number one in activating his belated FPL Wildcard.

This week’s episode was beamed out live on Monday evening via Google Hangouts. You can catch the full fat version via the player below.

For those who prefer a more refined, fine dining version, you’ll need to click this link or use the smaller player below for the edited MP3 audio.

Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and Google Plus page to keep informed of when future ScoutCast hit the screen.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I was thinking this morning about whether or not a 12 point hit is too much to get to say 7/8 players.

Main question I then asked myself is whether you'd back those with a double game week to score more than 12 points in their second game. I know I'd expect a score of more than 12 from 7 players.

Doesn't quite work out like this because you have to take into account what the single GW player might score but one thing is for sure, you can easily justify a hit to yourself with little effort 😀

      11 years, 6 months ago

As you said, you have to account for th points the player you are taking out 'will' score. If its a Naughton, Sturridge or a Wisdom then no problem

Would you pick any of the Leicester boys to play against Chelsea if it was a stand alone fixture ?...If not then how can you be confident of retrieving a -4 per player just to play that extra fixture ?

2 points against Chelsea then 10 against Burnley 🙂

        1. Dr Dream
          11 years, 6 months ago

Aye....So 8 pts net even if they manage those 10pts against Burnley.(big if). The likes of Silva and Bolasie are capable of that in a SGW.

            Yeah I know.

I'm not saying its the right move I'm just saying it's easy to justify something when you want to 🙂

              Very easy....too damned easy sometimes.

    3. foley_fd

But it's zero points for 4/5 players.

So what you're really asking is whether those extra 3 players will score 12 points.

I've went -8 points because we are running out of weeks and I'm in a league where highest gw of the season pays £40 prize and hits don't count so I'm going for it on this one.

My hits have been seriously debatable but my team looks good for this week and on the plus side I don't own Vardy.

Couthino prediced as "false 9" in team news section - surely increases his appeal. But is Sterling still a better pick?

    1. Darren Caskey
      11 years, 6 months ago

I`d go Sterling. Looks like he`s coming into a little form. Looked lively against Newcastle.

      1. Pompel

On Sterling + Hendo atm - don't think I can stretch it to Sterling + Couthino due to Arsenal midfield plans.

I'm thinking ahead to Arsenal as well post gwk 34 so currently favour Henderson over Coutinho...but agree if you have the funds he's a good pick and could do well.

      1. Pompel
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        11 years, 6 months ago

That's exactly the dilemma - fancy Coutinho as a slight differential, but I'll need to have a closer look if I can do Sterling + Coutinho and still be able to get Sanchez and Giroud by only using FT's

    3. Dr Dream
      11 years, 6 months ago

Failse 9, of played right, is all about the wide men getting beyond the central Failse 9 quickly....If anything it increases his appeal as it's the way Sterling plays best as oppose to a striker role.

Coutinho and Sterling for the GW.

      1. Pompel
        • Fantasy Football Scout Member
        11 years, 6 months ago

Thanks - severely tempted now. Of course, looking purely at Henderson vs Couthino stats, Hendo is maybe still the better choice....

        1. Dr Dream
          11 years, 6 months ago

Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling are all much of a muchness FPLwise. Either one of them could come out on top. Stick a pin in.

I'm tempted by Sterling + Coutinho. It would mean loosing Silva and taking a -4 hit.

I already have Coutinho. But agree nervous about dropping Silva, but equally nervous about not owning Sterling.

However I am also more concerned about owning Remy!!

        2. Dr Dream

          I've gone with

          Hazard Sterling Silva Bolasie Coutinho

            1. Dr Dream
              11 years, 6 months ago

Not on a WC...and Palace at home to Hull is too tasty to drop him. Next week he becomes my fifth mid.

    On WC, currently with:

    Schmeichel/Ospina
    Terry/Skrtel/Ivanovic/PVA/Duff
    Hazard/Sterling/Henderson/Cambiasso/Sanchez
    Aguero/Murray/Kane

    A: Ivanovic & Henderson
    B: Cahill & Coutinho

I was tempted to take a hit this morning and get an eight double gameweeker in. But then I checked my nearest rivals in my mini league and they have 3 or four double gameweekers in last week. I had to remind myself that I don't need to try and beat all of you guys here, I just need to beat them. So I'm gonna be boring and save that 4 points.

    Mignolet,
    Ivanovic, Schlupp, Skrtel,
    Hazard (c) Sterling, Eriksen, Silva,
    Kane, Aguero, Vardy

    Krul, Mane, Bertrand, Yun,

    2.9 mil in the bank.

    Sensible?

Guess ideally you'd want Eriksen out, but as you're already maxed out on Liverpool it's probably not an easy decision on who to replace him with, given you've probably got plans up front for that bank money?

Arsenal haven't failed to score at home all season, leicester scored 11 in their last 4 games. Is having chelski defender really that essential ?

Depends on your point of view.

Some will say that Ivan is nailed on for 2 CS's.

I've had Terry for a while so I'll play him. Won't be doubling up though.

        cool thanks all.

can't do the Boyd to diame move, all my rivals have Kane and I'm only leading by 10 points or so. The risk is too great but thanks for the suggestion!

Can someone please shed some light on what appears to be the question or the week..

Sterling or Hendo for the DGW???

    1. Captain Shirokov
      11 years, 6 months ago

      Nobody knows.

    2. Vman
      11 years, 6 months ago

With no Sturridge or Ballottelli i think you pretty much have to go with sterling over Hendo as he will probably play a more forward roll before he changes formation and slots sterling out to the wing.

      1. Vman
        11 years, 6 months ago

        IMO

      2. JaydenLFC87
        11 years, 6 months ago

This is my thinking, I have Cout already.. but want to get Skrtel in otherwise would get all 3..

        1. Vman
          11 years, 6 months ago

I have Mignolet,Sterling and Hendo Did not want to add to my defence was happy there and i think for me this is a good Liverpool cover for the Dgw Chelsea i have Hazard Ivan and Terry.

        11 years, 6 months ago

Sterling is better on the wing, useless up front.

        1. Vman
          11 years, 6 months ago

Yeah but he has pace and with hendo providing assists you know Sterling always has a chance he is still developing in the forward role, he is used to carrying the ball forward not receiving it in the box so it still comes a little alien to him. so i would not say useless.

    My current team for GW34:

    Krul (Myhill)
    Ivanovic (vc) Terry Schlupp Skrtl
    Hazard (c) Henderson Coutinho Silva
    Aguero Kane

    Subs: Giroud Boyd PVA

No hits. Worth doing -4 for Boyd -> Cambiasso for 8 DGW players and bench Silva/Kane?

Nah. Fine as it is mate

    2. Doolittle
      11 years, 6 months ago

Definitely wouldn't take a hit for, effectively, Silva/Kane -> Cambiasso (-4). Stick Chrissy, interesting side and 8 DGW players without a hit is incredible. I'd be tempted to try to find a way to get Giroud in, I'd maybe even play him over Schlupp.

      1. Chrissy Waddle - 2025/26
        11 years, 6 months ago

Cheers Doo... been planning for this GW for a while and just glad injuries haven't scuppered me!

Yeah a couple of people this week have said the same thing with Schlupp, but I'm not sure... the lure of the DGW and all that...!

If Silva is rested this week then Giroud will come on anyway. Good luck this week mate.

        1. Doolittle
          11 years, 6 months ago

Yeha I get why you'd play Schlupp, just feels weird to have him in over Giroud. Good luck to you too mate.

I read that yesterday too. Saw something on Sky Sports News this morning saying they were going to check on Rose today though.

Problem was it was 6:15am and I was still half asleep and on my way to work so not sure what the deal was

Morning all. Hope we're all well. I've taken a -8 to get this lot:

    Pant

    Terry Clyne Skrtl

    Haz Fabs Hendo Sterling Silva

    Kun Murray

    // Myhill / Kane / Dawson / Hutton

Right decision to bench Kane? Are others doing the same? Obviously Silva's fitness will be a factor.

    1. MBK 42
      11 years, 6 months ago

I have almost the same team (Sanchez instead of Silva) also taking a -8. I'm benching Kane at the moment in favour of Sanchez but his ownership concerns me if he scores a few.
