We roll out our Friday lunchtime assessment of the PlayON Player Price List once again. As always, we offer a couple of picks per position: one essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

PlayON are now running a number of different deadlines so Fantasy managers can have as much benefit of seeing teamsheets as possible. Tomorrow, for example, managers can pick teams for the weekly game (which includes all ten matches on Saturday and Sunday) and the single match game (for the Southampton versus Tottenham match) up to 12.45.

Managers can pick teams for all the 15.00 & 17.30 kick-offs up to 15.00 tomorrow. Their Daily game on Sunday, which includes two matches, has a deadline of 13.30. There’s free entry tourna-ments and guaranteed pots in all games so plenty for Fantasy managers to take advantage of – you can pick up to three different teams for each game now at www.PlayON.co

Goalkeepers – Asmir Begovic
Available for just 7.1m, the Bosnian is handed a plum home clash with a Sunderland side that have scored only once in their previous three road trips. Although Stoke have failed to keep a clean sheet in five matches, three of their last four shut-outs have arrived at the Britannia, suggesting the 15%-owned Begovic could be in line to pick up the points against Dick Advocaat’s strugglers. Joe Hart (8m, 14% ownership) bagged a fourth straight clean sheet at home and resultantly retains our essential goalkeeper status. Eleven saves over that run shows he is also picking up those valuable extra points and the City keeper will need to deliver once more against Villa’s in-form Christian Benteke at the Etihad.

Defenders – Wes Morgan
The Leicester defender’s threat in the opposition box has served up a goal and an assist in his last four. Over that period, Morgan has six headed attempts on goal and 18 clearances, highlighting his points potential at both ends of the pitch in the event of his side conceding away to Burnley. Bearing in mind the Clarets have scored a single goal in seven matches, Morgan – at 6.3m and owned by only 3% of PlayON managers – looks an ideal budget enabler for our squads. Scott Dann also looks a strong option as Palace attempt to bounce back from the home defeat to West Brom. Coming in at 7.1m and owned by 14%, the centre-half has produced five efforts in the box over his last six and faces a Hull side with a single goal in their last four on the road.

Midfielders – Matty Phillips
With two goals and seven assists in his last nine matches, the winger has produced a consistent source of points under new boss Chris Ramsey. QPR failed to score at home to Chelsea last time out but will be optimistic of getting amongst the goals at Loftus Road this weekend, considering that visitors West Ham have a single clean sheet away from home all season. Available for 7m and picked by 13% of teams, Phillips looks set to prosper once again. Jordan Henderson was our left-field pick a couple of weeks back but is now promoted to essential status ahead of the trip to West Brom The midfielder (16% ownership) offers a budget route into the Liverpool side at 8.8m, has four goals and two assists in six matches and has form against West Brom, scoring one and assisting the other in the 2-1 win at Anfield. Bearing in mind that the Baggies have conceded seven in their last two at the Hawthorns, Brendan Rodgers’ side will be hopeful of returning to winning ways.

Forwards – Glenn Murray
After providing four assists and six goals in six appearances, the Eagles striker unexpectedly blanked against West Brom at Selhurst Park. A home tie against struggling Hull is a different prospect, with the Tigers conceding eight in their last three matches, and, for 7.5m, the 22%-owned Murray offers excellent value as Palace look for a win before the schedule turns against them. Sergio Aguero (15m) delivered a goal on his return to our essential slot last week and we’re sticking with the Argentine ahead of Villa’s visit. The City striker now has three strikes in two matches since Manuel Pellegrini shifted to a 4-4-1-1 formation and, having fired ten attempts over that pair of fixtures, looks back to his predatory best. With David Silva likely to be available, Aguero has already been snapped up by a massive 59% of PlayON managers for this one.

Head over to www.PlayON.co to get your teams in for the free entry and guaranteed pot games.

Costa's price is annoying. Would have to lose Sterling or even Hazard, and that can't be worth it.

    1. Lallana_
      11 years, 6 months ago

Costa long-term isn't for me anyways.

      Kane Aguero Giroud 😎

  3. jnglizt

    Kasper Panti
    Ivan Skrtel McShane (PVA Duff)
    Hendo Fab Hazard Sterling (Sanchez)
    Kane Vardy Aguero

Got 0.1 ITB to do Sterling > Ramsey next week. The downgrade Fab to Davis or someone to do Vardy > Giroud for the DGW.

Any thoughts? McShane is the obvious weak link but my thinking is that he will hopefully be a better option than downgrading Ivan/Skrtel and doubling up on LEI at the back...

It was remys big chance to stake a claim over the past few weeks and he blew it.Liverpool were right not to take him .although Balotelli was no better.

Remy, Balotelli, Welbeck, Falcao - slim pickings in the striker market last summer!

      1. Pariße
        11 years, 6 months ago

Wouldn't dare to imagine Welbeck to be the best of them.

Smalling has more goals than Welbeck 😀

          1. Pariße
            11 years, 6 months ago

Both are on 4 league goals, but Welbeck still hasn't been a flop at Arsenal at all, most of the time he's been on the wing anyway.

Lexi Sanchez is not slim pickings. Pool lodged a bid and wouldn't up it. If ye threw 40-50 million at Madrid for benzima they would have sold him

He was obviously injury prone. he didn't blow it on purpose but you would have to wonder about some of these fellas that are always injured whether they want to play or not.

    Repost, anyone??

About to catch a flight and debating my Remy fiasco, do I:

    A) Remy -> Vardy (-4)
    B) Remy and Rose -> Vardy and Ivan (-8) (own Terry / Haz)
    C) Just play the son of a b*€$€ and not take a hit

A would allow me to do a trade to Benteke as planned.

    Thanks!!

I'd prefer N'Doye over Vardy but not sure about whether it's worth a hit over whoever you have on your bench. I'm grappling with the same question

          1. Demí
            11 years, 6 months ago

Yeah, it's really annoying, Remy has messed it all up. was looking at a -8 and keeping remy, but may be a -12 now :/

My bench is currently, Cork, Jags and Toby, guess i could play the latter this week

            1. pompeyfan
              11 years, 6 months ago

it is annoying! I'm really in 2 minds now on whether to get N'Doye for a hit, or whether to play Kane.. Kane is surely the safer option

              1. Demí
                11 years, 6 months ago

I think so. If i was in your position, i'd prefer playing Kane to taking a hit for Ndoye i think. You'd want the former after the DGW more so than N'doye, unless you'd plan to sell either to get Giroud in anyway, but i'm just speculating there

                1. pompeyfan
                  11 years, 6 months ago

cheers, that makes sense. I am getting Giroud next week so may as well just bench Remy and do the free change this gw.

    9. Mowgli
      11 years, 6 months ago

I'm facing this exact dilema too.

I guess it depends on your situation. I.e. If you're trying to make up ground in your ML and the people above don't have; go for it. Or if your leading and the people below do have him it maybe worth it to be defensive. For me it's the latter.

But ultimately a -4 hit for a player who isn't going to play for a DGWer wouldn't be such a terrible decision IMO.

      1. Demí
        11 years, 6 months ago

Yeah for me it's the former. I really am struggling to see Remy playing much in the DGW now, and wouldn't want to own him after it either so best just to cut my losses now i think

Hazard is a pretty easy choice I think

        11 years, 6 months ago

        Between him and Sterling

Yup - both decent choices. Far better than a defender for me at least.

        I'm thinking sterling

        1. Sharkytect

I just did the comparison tool between the two and hazard smashes him over the last four. But tougher fixtures.arghh!

Why not get the full house? Pants-> Schmeichel.

And agreed with ^. Do Costa->Giroud and Huth->JT ( I assume you have WC)

A: Start Remy (Bolasie (HUL) first sub)
B: Bench Remy and play Bolasie
C: Take a hit to bring in Vardy or Costa.

Lets start a Remy to Costa club!

      1. Beavis
        11 years, 6 months ago

Seems like an awful idea. Could easily get anything from 0 to 180 mins knowing Mourinho.

    2. Whazza

      C for Vardy

      1. Beavis
        11 years, 6 months ago

Probably the 'safest' option but Vardy is awful.

This is the biggest mess of the season so far.

Every option I look at looks awful. Might just keep Remy, bench him, and play Boyd or Toby?

    1. Woy
      11 years, 6 months ago

Boyd as a punt, imagine if he scores and Sanchez blanks ...... it's happened!

I'm keeping. He's gone for Giroud next week anyway. Boyd and Bellerin on my bench to cover.

Same here. Apart from giroud, there's just no forward options that appeal. If costa was 100% then it'd be a no brainer but he's not. Could well end up not in squad vs arsenal and bench role against leicester. Can't read anything into mourinho's comments.

I'm thinking similar, how many DGWs are you on?

  22. BRONALDINHO
    11 years, 6 months ago

So, I'm stuck between deciding whether to take Sturridge out for a -4 for either a Leicester striker or Costa if I'm feeling punty by the end, or with everyone taking hits just play Boyd and hope for the best against a shaky Lei defence. Decisions, decisions!

    Here we go:

    Schmeichel
    Terry, Bruce, Toby
    Haz, Silva, Coutinho, Hendo
    Kun, Giroud, Costa

    Myhill, Cambiasso, PvA, Duff

    What a week to WC!

Not sure id punt on Costa but looks good

  24. SwindonSteve
    11 years, 6 months ago

2 midfield spots up for grabs who to fill:
    A: Sterling
    B: Henderson
    C: Fabregas
I think A&B are my best bet, but my rival has Fab and I am protecting a 43 point lead, so I am tempted to make a blocking move
    Cheers!!!

Or just play Murray and Kane and bring in Cambiasso instead?
