Our latest ScoutCast episode is dedicated to the memory of long-time community member Simon Humber, aka “Absinthe”, who sadly passed away last week.

Granville, Jonty and myself pay our respects by going about our business – just as Absinthe would have wanted.

We overcome Granville’s late arrival to analyse Gameweek 36, while deflecting the latest bout of community posers that have us assess the likelihood of Chelsea rotation, run the rule over Arsenal assets and lament the demise of Sir Leighton Baines. We also take time out to reflect on our season’s biggest errors, while Granville is given the unenviable task of selecting the best Fantasy manager from Jonty and myself – like a sultry temptress choosing between a pair of doting admirers.

This episode was aired on Tuesday evening via the magic of Google Hangouts. You can witness Granville’s unceremonious crash landing in all its glory via the full fat YouTube version below. Alternatively, if you prefer your ScoutCast more refined, you’ll require the edited audio mp3 via this link or the first player below.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for alerts on new episodes and to get involved in the Hangout live discussion next week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Am on Skrtel at the moment as they have conceded 4 in last 4 vs Chelsea, it's not a major goalfest.

About to pull the trigger on Fab + Ivan -> Sanchez + Vlaar for free

    Any reason not to?

Then tomorrow will wait until the evening to swap Sterling -> Ozil/Ramsey/Cazorla

quite similar CS potential (rather low), skrtel seems to a bigger attacking threat + in case of 0-0 he's on 8-9 points.

Does it matter that much? If we suppose both Liverpool and Sunderland concede I'm still more comfortable with Skrtel aerial threat + potential baps, even if he gets -1 for goals conceded

let's get a quick vote to see if I'm alone in my thinking..

My gut says Gerrard doesn't start vs Chelsea.

    A) he doesn't risk injury before the last home game of his Liverpool career (next week)
    B) it probably isn't a game he can hang in anyhow
    C) he's not helping their attack very much anyways

    Agreed/Disagreed

I don't like the idea of Gerrard starting because of the guard of honour.

The rest of the team however, should clap Chelsea on.

This has got to be the most important transfer window coming up this summer in the last few years.

Each of the top four teams just need some fine tuning and they would instantly be title favourites.

Half the battle would be won by the team that makes the correct signings this summer.

    Exciting times ahead. 😀

I agree. I think it sets up the playing field for the next couple of seasons, as teams start to gel properly. Think Chelsea will still be the ones to beat next season as they arguably need the smallest amount of fine tuning. The following season could be anybody's.

      1. pundit of punts

I think the next season could be anybody's.

Chelsea made two steller signings this season in the form of Fabregas and Costa and they won the title.

Signing correct players at right times win you trophies.

Watch Chelsea act fast again. The club is unified and knows what it is doing. It is also in a good FFP position on the back of recent profits.

United will throw a lot of cash at it - and with their revenues they can afford to. But they need more than Chelsea do and there are doubts about De Gea's future.

City are in big trouble, a complete reshaping of the squad is needed and there is a question as to whether Pellegrini is the manager to do it. There may be uncertainty and delay there.

Arsenal remain at the whim of a manager that won't sign the players they need - namely a top GK, a top CB, a top DM and a top Striker.

Next season's title race will be between Chelsea and United with Arsenal flattering to deceive as usual.

A lot of guesswork at this stage, but probably something like:

        ...............DDG
        X - Smalling - X - Shaw
        .Mata Carrick Fellaini
        ADM..Rooney..Depay

          Probably right.

          LvG likes his 4-3-3.

Not signing a CM would be a failed summer transfer window for you lot though.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Mata sold. He's not very versatile, and not very tall. Two things LvG has said he likes.

He played just 1 season in that position at RM when they won the CL last season. All his life he has played at the wing.

Agreed he was good at it but can't see LvG deploying him there anytime soon.

I'm in the mood for fantasies and I want the top four to look like the following next season. 😛

    Manchester city:-

    Hart
    Zabaleta - Kompany - Mangala - Rodriguez
    Pogba - Fernandinho
    Sterling - Silva - Reus
    Aguero

    Manchester united:-

    DDG
    Clyne - Smalling - Hummels - Blind
    Carricke - Gundogan
    ADM - Mata - Depay
    Rooney

    Chelsea:-

    Courtois
    Ivanovic - Terry - Cahill - Azpilicueta
    Matic - Koke
    Willian - Fabregas - Hazard
    Costa

    Arsenal:-

    Ospina
    Debuchy - Garay - Koscielny - Gibbs
    Schneiderlin - Cazorla
    Ramsey - Ozil - Sanchez
    Giroud

    What's your opinion? 😀

            Negredo,Dzeko,Yaya,Nasri,Boyata,Nastasic should be binned.

I'm not sure on the exact numbers you guys are working with in FFP but that's only a touch more than what Pogba will surely cost, and now that Reus has signed a new contract that has no release clause I think those 3 could cost 150m together.

2.2m and 1 FT, current squad:

    Schmeichel - Pantilimon
    Terry - Skrtel - Smalling - Morgan - PvA
    Hazard - Ramsey - Sterling - Henderson - Albrighton
    Aguero - Giroud - Benteke

for a -4 in each, looks like it's either:
    A) Skrtel+Sterling > Vlaar/Stones+Sanchez
    B) Hazard+Sterling > Mata/Silva+Sanchez

only have 0.1m buffer in A with Stones so could be close..

thoughts? reckon I should be looking at something else?

none..just a guess based on his on-again-off-again involvement, the fact that his last Anfield match ever is next week (doubt he'd want to jeopardize that), I don't think he can hang against Chelsea (didn't start vs United) plus as Berbinho pointed out, it'd probably be awkward for him to have to do the guard of honor
