Leicester let him in far too easily. Johnson was able to pass it to him like it was in the middle of the park, not the opponents box. Plus, Defoe didn't really threaten for most of the game.

If he hadn't scored, you wouldn't even be considering it. Goals do not equal potential unless consistent or well worked. This is neither. By a long way.

Just not keen on wilsons next two fixtures, plus Defoe has two home fixtures coming up (norwich and Swansea)......

He may not have done much all game, but he scored, and that's thw beauty of strikers most of the time......he may have done nothing, but he still poked one in.

At the same time, if Sakho doesn't get enough service and/or gets muscled off by a very solid looking Arsenal team, do NOT write him off. Is he has space to run AND control the ball AND shoot and STILL doesn't play well then maybe.

Mahrez was given far too much time and space on the ball. The sunderland players seemed to back off him as soon as he ran at them. Albrighton got amongst the action and played some brilliant crosses in. Looked keen to get forward when he had enough space to do so but all in all, Sunderland were a trainwreck at the back.

    Thoughts on Gomis?

First team striker for the Swans. Excellent creativity around him and lots of crosses coming him leads to more goals.

Could have easily scored 3 or 4 goals. The fact that he messed all of those up might suggest he can reward you while being a "donkey" at times. Similar to Pelle

      1. Jazz!
        • 11 Years

So does that make him a good option...?

    5. Too Mane Men
      • 11 Years
      11 years, 4 days ago

The appeal is there considering he is the target man for a very solid Swansea side but he just doesn't beat himself up enough when he misses IMO. Too casual in his work ethic once he knows the chance has gone. Won't be consistent enough but will score a good enough amount to keep him ticking over due to how many chances he will get.

I was thinking the same. But I think in order for me to catch up to my rivals who have Mahrez, it isn't by bringing in Mahrez but a differential. I'm bringing in Sakho

Yeah, could have gone better. 14 points from the two players on my bench today - Ighalo and Richards - vs 12 from 6 on my pitch. But triple Arsenal attack + captain tomorrow should see me right

I had him in quite a few drafts. Then took him out and remade my team. I really fancied him to score this week, so I took the opportunity and made a team with Aguero, Mahrez being the enabler. Worked well so far, here's to hoping Kun does the business on Monday.

I did the opposite as my last change before the week started and am trying to resist the kneejerk back in. Mahrez only scored 4 I believe last season and supposedly Sunderland were horrific defending, I would like to see how mahrez does in the next game although can I wait that long with the likely price hike... If only everyone waited a couple of weeks before making transfers....

People will say you're chasing points but I would say: Do it

      -Amazing fixtures
-great form and the whole team is gelled better than Hart's hair
      -0.5 cheaper
-Ritchi hasn't done anything in last 2 months to warrant a place in your team. Yes, he got championship record, but PL is a different monster

Well if Sakho doesn't produce in next 2 after arsenal then gomis will be an option for me if he doesn't rise too much!

I don't think I'll end up removing him all season, just too fiddly to get him back when he hits form again

Not having it. Just perma keeping him there... he can get 15 baps in a second. I'm more concerned for Chelsea in general tbh. Not showing up in pre season or today.

you're right and Hazard stays but one of the hardest things in this game is finding the fine line between knee-jerking and catching the right run of form.

on Haz? I haven't seen him play yet. I'll wait and see probably. I am risk averse.

Mark is a good one to take guidance from on these ones i.e. podcasts, premable etc.

TBH I tend to absorb it all and then wing it; it usually turns out ok. The advice on here fine tunes it.

I am in a money league for the first time this year though...

I must say Depay is tempting. He didn't really do much today but he definitely has a lot of potential. He also had the most goals from freekicks in Europe last season with 7 goals. And LvG seems to like him.

Mahrez always had impressive stats last year, but things like AFCON and him constantly being dropped meant I never got him in.
