I am ahead on 32 but you have an extra player to play. Typically end up facing another Mahrez owner. There are so many easier draws out there this week.

I haven't looked that closely. I have Aguero I don't think you do. My other forwards have played. I don't have Walcott. I have Lescott whereas you have Kolarov. It should be close.

Yeah i even posted on here saying i was being blinded by the Chelsea game a few days ago, lol. Everything pointed to him - no Europa, nailed on lone striker in a very good team, pens, decent fixtures esp after gw 1., and great stats aswell - as Doos has been saying 😉

Thought the same too, then just completely dropped Fabs and brought in Mane, thinking without Costa Fabs won't be great.

Yep that looks like a good plan. I've already got 2.5 ITB for Rooney > Aguero when the time comes. Fab > a budget/mid-range mid could/should work out well

    3. Diva
      • 12 Years

It's logical to the extent that if Chelsea explode there is a good chance Fab will assist someone, but if they don't at least you've saved 2.5 you can spend elsewhere.

Depends on when you are going to play your first half wildcard. Decide that, and then it's simple. Look at schedule only up to that point and decide which one looks most favorable, and then move. Doesn't have to be Cech. Maybe it will be. It all depends on your wildcard plans. I know when I'm going to play mine, (unless catastrophe hits), so the choice looks much more simple.

    Greetings citizens.

I don't know what people were thinking captaining Hazard this GW. It was never going to be a good choice as he usually gets off his season slowly. Add to that he's 11.5m and you have to question why majority of people even owned him.

My word of advise for the new season - take it week by week and look to own the players who score the most points. Get them in even if it involves point hits. For instance, if you follow this principle, it would have been pretty obvious that doubling up on Mahrez and Albrighton was the obvious choice this week.

    Yours
    Capt.

The same goes for Mahrez too, doesn't it? All I'm saying is that seems like he has nailed down a spot and looks good for attacking returns from time to time. Which at 5.0 is a bargian. Maybe he can be 4th mid when I want to get Aguero in. Just a thought.

Albrighton, Albrighton, Albrighton, Albrighton, Albrighton, Albrighton, Albrighton, Albrighton,

I know that doesn't even things up, but it's a start. No, actually I'm going to keep my 4.5 mid as a 4.5 mid, because that person is meant to stay on the bench, play regularly, and leave as little salary stranded on the bench as possible.

I think the "high ownership means quick price drops" theory espoused by some on here is something of a myth. Unless the rules have changed this year - and, if so, we don't know about it yet - drops from the starting price are based on a percentage of total ownership. For example, with Courtois' high ownership one reputable price change site is projecting he's going to require more than 170,000 transfers out before he drops in price. Yes, he may get that in the first week, but a lot of his owners will be people who don't make transfers with great regularity. It affords those players a degree of cushioning that many popular "differential" FFS bandwagons may not get.

therefore low ownership means quick price rise 😀

Nope. Put simply, price rises (at least from the starting point) are (or were, depending on if they have changed the rules) are based on a set "net transfers in" figure that is based on the number of players in the whole game, not the number of players already owning that player.

          price drops

years ago it used to be 10.5% of ownership for the first £0.1m, double that for the second, treble for the third (which never happens)

but for low-ownership players there's some sort of minimum number needed as well

          price rises

the "rise threshold" depends on transfer activity...so it drops through the season as people give up the game

Re: Price rises, yes, which is why I was a little surprised the projected threshold was is so low right now. I was discussing this on the last page.

Re: price drops, I got the impression there was some kind of minimum if they were above their original price, but it there is a minimum of, say, 10,000, how would a player owned by 9,000 ever drop? We know they do...

The sites are up and running. (I recommend FPL Stats, but they won't be accurate yet.)

They changed the rules a few weeks into last season and hid some vital data the sites used. It took some sites a while to catch up, while for TotalFPL I think it was the straw that broke the camel's back.

Price changes can happen daily, but double or triple rises in a week are far less common than in 2013-14. People failing the prisoner's dilemma means early transfers may still be required, but if you miss one you're unlikely to find a player rises quickly out of reach. As it is harder to make money the main thing is to avoid price drops.

He was just ok and looked a bit rusty or off the pace. The final product wasn't there but a hell of a lot of their play goes through him and Francis linking up... If they settle and they get a good go at it, them two might be ok. On dead balls too.

Planning a GW4 WC so the next 2 transfers are short term and CHE's fixtures for 2&3 aren't great. There are probably better moves I can make though, and Aguero may not be needed until GW4

Ah, fair enough. If you are planning a WC that early I probably wouldn't rush for Aguero as you will be able to work him in for the fixture swing. Enjoy the luxury of being able to select for other tasty fixtures in the meantime.*

Last year was more unusual because of the rule changes and hiding key data.

Yeah, I was following fiso's CTC last year, but their work before that were make difficult by rule changes and hiding key data.

Hope they can crack the code earlier this season.

Chelsea looked horrible defensively but so did Sunderland......
Again I changed my mind going Azpi over Coates

I also have more trust in Chelsea to figure their problems out than i do Sunderland. Maybe away to Man City is not the best lab experiment, but sunderland....good lord.

Who was the standout swansea midfielder?

Ayew and Montero. Shelley was impressive too.

        He carries a knife 🙂

Montero shafted Ivan and sent him to a different planet. Chelski in general sloppy at the back and the Swans done well. Quite impressive attack actually.

Shelvey and Siggy had some good play too. Although, Shelvey could get a rc any time and he did try and score from 2 corners himself heh

Montero seemed involved in plenty of attacking play, but the points hauls are still likely to come from Siggy.

Montero looked really dangerous whether that will translate to points is yet to be seen. Shelvey involved in everything - I'd probably go for him.

Taking out Ritchie now seems like a panicky knee jerk imo. Still think rotating him with Sakho can reap rewards.

Ritchie looked really good when he was supplying the crosses but awful in front of goal

Panic spreads like wildfire and patience doesn't exist in fickle fpl land, especially in the first few weeks and no one has a clue what they're at!

What if you're right and they're wrong 🙂
