Morning DZ. @ 11.30 I swapped Mahrez to Ki. Ki is injured, the rest we know.
I post this not for sympathy. Sympathy lies somewhere between sh!te and syphalis in the dictionary.
I'd like an opinion or two whether I should make the (kneejerk) switch and catch the rise/avoid the fall? Conversely, should I stay strong, save the FT and be flexable next GW?

front line is rooney, benteke and pelle. My plan was to downgrade pelle to get augero instead of rooney. Initial plan is getting sakho or anyone in that range (7m or less). Yesterday, I liked vardy so much. Gomez as as a lonely strikervand on pens is also an option. i wont take action now until all games but thought of asking ur opinion on these 2.

I think it is a little early to consider selling someone that has yet to play. From what I hear, Rooney was very poor yesterday, so he could be the one to make way for Aguero. Gomis and Vardy are both sound options.

With my Captain Hindsight hat on, I've been pondering all night how it never once occurred to me all summer how obvious Mahrez instead of Richie was. Like you say, .5 cheaper & proven. I'd been trying to shave .5 off my team all week 🙠.Think I had my greedy Championship glasses on.

I think people were concerned about Mahrez's nailed-on-ness whereas they knew Ritchie was nailed.

All Friday night I alternated between Mahrez, Sinclair and Wilson v Ritchie, Westwood and Vardy. In the end the latter felt more nailed on so I went with that.

I think you have to give Ritchie a chance though. It takes some players a few games to adjust to the jump from the Championship to the Premier league.

Also, Bournemouth had chances to score yesterday and he could've had a goal and assist if you watched the highlights.

Most promoted teams learn very quickly that at this level you must take your chances and shoot early. They only didn't score yesterday because they were taking the extra touches they hot away with in The Championship.

One GW is genuinely far too early to reasonably judge a players prospects.

GW1 is probably the week where luck plays the biggest part relative to the rest of the season.. Sometimes you pick the right players, other times not.

When you face a Villa team at home that conceded an average of 2 a game under Sherwood last year and you don't score that for me is indication enough to make the trade. Some call it kneejerking, others might call it foresight.

Based on that premise Bournemouth won't score against anyone all season then. But you and I both know that's not the case.

I like Mahrez but the acid test is what Ranieri does in 3 or 4 games time.

If people want to jump ship after one GW then fine. I'd leave it a bit longer than one game to write a player or team off though.

I respect your opinion, for sure it's too early to see how things will pan out. But 2 shots on target at home against arguably one of the weakest teams in the division doesn't do it for me, sorry.

Fixtures are overrated in FPL, fixtures put most of us off getting Ayew/Gomis yesterday. The league is full of quick, attacking football and Palace showed last season they will have a go at anyone. I think they are capable of creating chances and scoring against any team in the league.

Surprisingly, for me it was Cabaye scoring a goal that didn't effect the result in the 94th minute for Palace, he is owned by just under 10% of people. Lucky points for them.

To me it does matter. Eg; Remember Torres's goal for Chelsea a few years back in the UCL semi final against Barca in the last minute. Imagine if you're ML rival had Torres, it would of been really frustrating. Norwich pretty much let Cabaye through on goal.

Mixed 1st GW, feeling lucky about my Mahrez pick....

But annoyed about my Courtois Pick.

    I have two questions.....

Will it be an automatic 3 game suspension for him?

Secondly is McCarthy now nailed on as The Palace keeper?

I picked McCathy as my spare (non playing keeper) so if he is nailed I will play him for 1 week and might just leave Courtois in my team on the bench and save my free transfer.

I chose between 4 strikers for my =< £6.0 striker spot. Was on Varney (scored) all week before the Aguero news but Mahrez was my enabler for him so took him out so as not to double up on Leicester attack.

Others I contemplated were Gestede (benched but scored) Defoe (scored) and Cameron Jerome (benched). Guess which one I went for? 😆
