After yesterday’s disappointing start, many Fantasy managers will be looking for some of Sunday’s heavy hitters to come to the rescue.

A couple of 1.30pm kick-offs get us underway. Community Shield winners Arsenal welcome West Ham to the Emirates before Steven McClaren takes charge of Newcastle for the first time in the top-flight as in-form Southampton roll up to St James’ Park.

Stoke play host to big-spending Liverpool in the late kick-off, with Brendan Rodgers’ side looking to immediately avenge their 6-1 mauling at the Britannia in the final league fixture of 2014/15.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Anybody watching Newcastle - Southampton? Best players so far? How is Newcastle doing? They looked pretty poor in preseason ...

wijnaldum has been good, coloccini has been good bar the goal, haidara and colback playing well also, obertan has been poor

Newcastle definitely created some chances. Cedric is looking very strong going forward, and very poor going backwards - I can definitely see a second yellow. Pelle hasn't touched the ball other than his goal, the only other player with any threat has been Tadic.

Wijnaldum getting into good positions and Sissoko looking very strong charging down the right. Cisse being Cisse and scoring when he literally doesn't have to think 😉

Newcastle looking pretty good, they've been the better team imo. Sissoko is looking very good, as is Winaldjum, but the two are lacking a bit of linking up quality. As for Southampton, Cedric has looked interesting, getting forward a lot but he's on a yellow and has had a couple of risky fouls since. Mane has failed to impress for me so far.

Yesterday was a dark day for me. That Rooney assist made me question if I would continue on playing the game and I'm not going to let it go. But Payet's performance today has made me regain my love for FPL. It's been a privilege watching him ball around the park today and I'm excited about the prospect of having him in my team this season. I expect to see 15 or 20 assists and hopefully none of them will be contreversial like Rooney's yesterday or them Lukaku assists from 2 seasons ago

    Wow No bellers or Walcott!

Wally on for a hatty please. I'll probably sell and get a precious .5 back. Took the risk and can easily downgrade now (Y)

Hope Wham don't sit back and I'm more curious about Mane! Wasn't 100% sold on him but I'll have to watch the game later to have a look at him

Your mids aren't gona score every week so no need to panic

A lot of people were doubting Payet this season. I had some people tell me "what is your basis on payet having a solid season this year" well he created the most chances in all of the top 5 euro leagues. You cannot ignore 17 assists. Hes is a seasoned player that is also playing on the talented French National team.

Cedric reminds me of Coleman, Gonna be a great ff player. His yellow card was taking one for the team by pulling back a player (can't remember who) on a break. Has got one assist in the first half and could easily got a second one in the last chance of the half crossing for Tadic.
