After yesterday’s disappointing start, many Fantasy managers will be looking for some of Sunday’s heavy hitters to come to the rescue.

A couple of 1.30pm kick-offs get us underway. Community Shield winners Arsenal welcome West Ham to the Emirates before Steven McClaren takes charge of Newcastle for the first time in the top-flight as in-form Southampton roll up to St James’ Park.

Stoke play host to big-spending Liverpool in the late kick-off, with Brendan Rodgers’ side looking to immediately avenge their 6-1 mauling at the Britannia in the final league fixture of 2014/15.

    This is actually bad news as it will spur Arsene on to dip into the transfer market and push again for Benzema and possibly a holding mid. Had Arsenal won comfortably today he would have deluded himself into thinking his squad was complete enough to compete. It's history repeating itself.

    This is the kind of GW that tempts people to wildcard. When they do the FPL gods punish them by making the players you hust got rid of score massively in GW2.

      was thinking the same, actually teams like Chelsea or Arsenal tend to learn from mistakes and play totally differently in their next matches. Could even be a good wake up call for them this early on.
