After yesterday’s disappointing start, many Fantasy managers will be looking for some of Sunday’s heavy hitters to come to the rescue.

A couple of 1.30pm kick-offs get us underway. Community Shield winners Arsenal welcome West Ham to the Emirates before Steven McClaren takes charge of Newcastle for the first time in the top-flight as in-form Southampton roll up to St James’ Park.

Stoke play host to big-spending Liverpool in the late kick-off, with Brendan Rodgers’ side looking to immediately avenge their 6-1 mauling at the Britannia in the final league fixture of 2014/15.

      Nope. So many options this year in the mid-priced range who can "do a job". The class will rise to the top but still lots of other options.

    Familiar story for Arsenal. Finish the season well, people tip them for the league, then they falter early on, fans call for a big signing or two, Wenger does what he wants (he's earned the right to be fair), they have a decent season and qualify for the champion's league after a good end to the season and repeat.

    Trying to focus on the positives...

    1. Went out for a nice bike ride earlier so was out for the carnage that was Theo starting on the bench
    2. If Theo turns out to be a captain fail (as looks likely) it's only going to cost me a point as Haz would've been my next choice (and a max of 4 points if I had gone for Rooney).

    Still shaping up to the worse Gameweek 1 in 9 seasons though 🙂
