After yesterday’s disappointing start, many Fantasy managers will be looking for some of Sunday’s heavy hitters to come to the rescue.

A couple of 1.30pm kick-offs get us underway. Community Shield winners Arsenal welcome West Ham to the Emirates before Steven McClaren takes charge of Newcastle for the first time in the top-flight as in-form Southampton roll up to St James’ Park.

Stoke play host to big-spending Liverpool in the late kick-off, with Brendan Rodgers’ side looking to immediately avenge their 6-1 mauling at the Britannia in the final league fixture of 2014/15.

    No doubt most of you here will quit the game after 3 or 4 gameweeks. The number of people using WC so early is too damn high.

    Fantasy Premier League is a game of patience. Never rush with the transfers and don't trust one-week performers. West Ham has been great today, and suddenly everyone buys Sakho and Payet. The same thing with Swansea's Ayew and Gomis. Next week Noble gets a red in 10 minutes and WHU lose to Leicester 3-0 at home. If that happens, many will change half of their squad again. And after 4 weeks they'll realize that they've lost 24 points for transfers.

    Stay cool, everyone. Neither using WC nor getting the likes of Mahrez or Payet in place of trusted performers will help.

    One of those games that compel you to sleep at half 4 on a sunday. Sometimes I'd rather football didn't exist if all it does is tempt you with the fact it is happening that when you switch on to it it is beyond tedious.
