The top scorer so far (86) has used Bench Boost.

Of all the shocking chip uses I've seen, this one is actually pretty successful:

    Bench Boost:
Adrian (11), Cresswell (6), Pelle (5)... and Bertrand (lol - bench boost with a orange flag!)

    http://fantasy.premierleague.com/entry/147811/event-history/1/

I genuinely think some people don't realise these are 'use and lose' chips. 😕

In my opinion the boost cards require a lot of luck. this guy played bench boost with two wham defenders whou would have thought of that.. not to mention you could use triple captain on hazard and he could have 2 points like this gw

But wouldn't it be great to be #1 in the whole league just once? We'll all end up in a higher position than this guy but have to say I envy him (or her) tonight.

Who is the single best 4.5 rated defender? I assumed it was huth but with players like Schmeichel, Mahrez and Albrighton he doesn't seem worth it

For the avoidance of doubt, Rooney was not a successful captain.

Out of all the obvious choices Rooney was the most successful captan. But you're right he was not a successful captain. What a shocking week.

Here we go, blue specs. Willian goal was a total fluke. Gomis should have done better when clean through and was unlucky with the header, You could argue Oscar got lucky but I wont. Swansea were the better team in the first half, simple as. Chelsea done a bit better 2nd half but were lucky to come out of the game with a point

It's a long old season. People were saying Terry was dead as an option at the start of last year, as he didn't go up for any corners in the first couple of games. Quality will always come through, though.

I think he will stil get a fair share of assists from open play but not as much as last year because Chelsea aren't as fluid going forward yet. Reckon they are players like Payet and probably an Arsenal midfielder will get similar amount of assist for less.

Couldn't watch the Soton game as well as I had work so would also appreciate some comments on these lads
    1) Pelle
    2) Mane
    3) Tadic
    4) Cedric (why was he subbed off?!)

    Sorry for bugging you Again

cedric was destroyed defensively all game from my opinion, plus had yellow card and two fouls after that so he was subbed. Mane missed two HUGE chances at the end, I mean HUGE. Pelle same as always, give him good service, he will score. Tadic was decent. Will score over the likes of Eriksen through the season

Hope is good enough for you. I had money bet on Sotto to win and was pissed off because of Mane. But I still won't drop him becase he created those two chances for himself and he is a threat for defences, like alexis sancehz is all the time because he goes at defenders so I'm hoping he will find his finishing touch soon

Is there any real point holding onto your WC until GW4 if you now know the cheap options which would most likely come in then but cost a few 0.1 more.
Although happy with my squad the fact that your forced to play one WC early probably makes no difference between now or a couple of weeks. For me, players like Coates,Walcott maybe Cedric Ritchie and Wilson are easily droppable so that knee is very much a jerking and trigger finger twitching.
    Just throwing it out there.

True, but some will remain good viable options. Ayew,Payet were pretty solid abroad and looked good this weekend. Gomez and Mahirez will be little cash cows and there are others.

      Of course

Most people who are on wc now have had poor weeks and are basically putting in this week's points scorers

IMO this WC should be used either

      a) when you have a raft on injuries
      b) if the price rises look better
      c) to take advantage of a fixture swing

For me atm I'm leaning towards C, in GW11 or 12 (which I think is around 3rd International Break) we should have a much better idea of the cheaper options then and we get a great run for Chelsea so I'm likely to want to get from just Hazard to Hazard, a defender and one of Costa/Cesc/Oscar

      1. DickFranDyke
        • 16 Years
        10 years, 6 months ago

or D) Gw2 when you have real data to analyse.

By GW 11 my squad should be pretty settled by then with just the odd tinker so I don't think I could hold it that long.

    3. Will's Faceless
      • 11 Years

Agreed 100%. If you use your wildcard sensibly I don't see it as kneejerk, although I am mid wildcard right now 😉

As long as you're giving yourself some flexibility, adding some value to your team isn't a bad thing. I usually wildcard early and hoover up all the form players. And am usually good at selling when the time is right.

Of course last gw1 Austin missed a pen but went onto score 18 goals, so I'd say 1 gw isn't a good reflection of a whole season, but it could be a good indicator of the first few games.

This why I advised against Walcott, yes he will get points when he plays, but the way he talks about being a Striker it seems this goal will a detriment to his game time. Why would you play Walcott up top against a physical side when Giroud is far more able to put up with the treatment the CB's will give him.

He could start next game but there are many sides I can't see Walcott starting vs.
