With mid-price assets continuing to deliver, Sunday’s fare finds three of the genuine title contenders in action, allowing us to assess the form of a series of heavy-hitters.

Arsenal get things underway with their visit to Palace and that’s followed by the titanic clash as Man City host Chelsea at the Etihad.

The Gunners arrive in South London off the back of a shock 2-0 reverse to West Ham. They can, however, take comfort from the fact that they are unbeaten in twelve matches at Selhurst Park but will be wary of a Palace side that boasts an array of weapons at their disposal. Alan Pardew’s Eagles enjoyed an impressive away win at the Norwich on the opening day and will be looking to build on that by improving home performances – they have lost half of their 10 home games under Pardew’s reign. The Gunners, meanwhile, turn up having won five of their last six away trips.

The tea-time encounter is, on paper, a classic. Chelsea go into the match still licking wounds from an opening day roughing-up by an impressive Swansea and will be without Thibaut Courtois as a result of his second-half red card in that 2-2 draw. City’s preparations could not have been better – they strolled to a 3-0 win at West Brom on Monday night and, arguably, were the most impressive side on show in Gameweek 1 with David Silva, in particular, dazzling in midfield.

Mourinho will be wary of City’s confidence and is expected to settle on the back foot in a bid to catch City on the break with pace – he can take confidence from the fact that his side are unbeaten in their last four against Manuel Pellegrini’s side. On the flipside, the Chilean will point to a recent home record which states seven straight wins, delivering six clean sheets.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is it worth having a cheap as chips defence with Hazard in a 352 or go without and have Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United defence along with Gomis in a 343?

Necessay WC with this lot? Needing some help...37 points total the last 2 weeks...

    Schmeicel - Hennesey
    Ivan - Belle - Prodl - Francis - Coates
    Hazard - Mane - Ayew - Ritchie - Fletcher
    Rooney - Kane - Vardy

    1FT; 2.5 ITB

Considering a WC for a confidence booster more than anything, and I think it's a decent week as any to do it if I'm planning an early one..

    1. megatronaldinho
      • 15 Years
      10 years, 6 months ago

how many players wud u change? it's a decent team. i'd probably not wildcard unless u are making at least 6 positive changes. having said that, i once wildcarded to save myself a minus 4 and i think i finished 120th that season 😀 so i guess an early wildcard CAN set u up very, very well but be aware that u stand the risk of your original team outscoring your WC team if it's not a forced WC

      1. That Was Easy!
        • 11 Years
        10 years, 6 months ago

Would likely change 6-9 players, thinking...

        Schmeicel - Butland
        Williams - Shaw - Darmien - Francis - Oxford
        Hazard - Sanchez - Mahrez - Ayew - Fletcher
Gomis - Rooney (to Kun next week) - Diouf

        2.5 ITB

          • 15 Years
          10 years, 6 months ago

i'd probably go for it, but not a fan of the planned transfer really. as a rule and, in this instance, because you're keeping someone who's playing sooo poorly and leaving out the best striker in the league. i know the fixture SCREAMS points for rooney but aguero is just so good he can easily outscore him regardless of opponent.
are there any alternatives to fletcher and diouf?

          1. That Was Easy!
            • 11 Years
            10 years, 6 months ago

Thinking going ahead with Kun right away is the smart move as well...Fletcher seems a good bet for me, likely to get 3 points as opposed to 2 points most 4.5s get haha.

Oxford is a money saver but also a concern.

            Cheers for the help!

Also worried. Simply have to keep him for the Toon game in my eyes. Would be stupid to chuck now with the risk of him scoring in that fixture.

I wouldn't say stupid, it would be for Aguero, who could indeed score vs Everton.

    Hi Guys,

Advice please, any recommended changes greatly appreciated (WC Active):

    Ruddy (Rudd)

    Darmian / Soares / Huth (Clark/S.Taylor)

Hazard / Sanchez / Mahrez / Redmond (Drinkwater)

    Aguero / Benteke / Lukaku

Having had a good previous history and an awful first 2 GW's so far really need to get this right. Any help greatly appreciated.

Redmond, Mahrez, Lukaku seem to be chasing lost points. Dont like your defence Darmian will have difficult fixtures and the rest are weak defenders. GKs also for a weak team. Maybe try to change it a bit
