Once again, there was a minimal amount of new injuries over the weekend’s matches for Fantasy managers to fret over, with Jose Mourinho and Mauricio Pochettino playing down concerns after withdrawing Harry Kane and John Terry respectively. Steve McClaren is a manager with worries, however, with injuries in midfield, while his first choice right-back will miss their Gameweek 3 trip to Old Trafford through suspension.

Chelsea
Jose Mourinho denied John Terry picked up an injury in today’s loss at City after being subbed off at the break. Perhaps tellingly, this was the first time in Terry’s career under Mourinho that he had been replaced mid-match, with the Blues boss explaining:

“No [he was not injured], it was a decision I made. I know that Zouma is the fastest in the squad, and in that moment Manchester City were playing on the counter attack. Zouma is different than John, and my decision was proved right as Zouma was in complete control. I left him out because tactically we needed to make a change, and I was proven right as we controlled the game in the second half.”

Mourinho also stated post-match than Oscar, who missed the Etihad trip, remains a doubt for the Gameweek 3 trip to West Brom…

“Oscar’s injury isn’t a big one but it stops him from playing today and probably next week”

Leicester City
Back-up stopper Mark Schwarzer missed yesterday’s win at West Ham due to illness, the club’s official twitter feed confirmed.

Newcastle
Steve McClaren has concerns in midfield for the trip to United after Moussa Sissoko was withdrawn at the break against Swansea due to a groin problem. The Magpies boss also explained Siem de Jong’s weekend absence:

“We lost a big player in Moussa. We don’t know the seriousness of it yet…We think it (De Jong injury) is just a kick on the shin which flared up. He nearly made it (in time) but unfortunately didn’t (but) it should not be too bad.”

Sissoko has since tweeted on his injury, confirming an adductor problem.

Tottenham
Mauricio Pochettino played down his second-half withdrawal of Harry Kane in yesterday’s draw with Stoke. The Spurs boss confirmed Kane’s problem was no more than cramp, having started training a little late due to his Euro U21 exertions with England:

“Harry was very tired and had some cramps in his calf, so to take the risk with the score at 2-0, I didn’t think it was a problem to take him off. He came later in pre-season and it is normal. He is better but he needs time to arrive. We knew before the end of last season Harry Kane would play a lot and the consequences you can see now. This is the truth, at 2-0, after 65 minutes, I think it was enough for him. We don’t take risks with his body”.

Swansea
Garry Monk remains optimistic that Ki Sung-Yeung will return to action for next week’s trip to Sunderland. The Swans boss refused to take any chances with the South Korean at home to Newcastle, after he was forced off with a hamstring injury away to Chelsea last week:

“It wasn’t really [right] to take the risk with him. Of course he’s pushing to play, but I think we’ll give him that little bit more time. He’ll be back in training next week ready for the Sunderland game.”

Suspensions

Newcastle are set to be without Daryl Janmaat for the trip to United after the right-back received his marching order for picking up two yellow cards away to Swansea. Discussing his upcoming absence, the Dutchman – who was booked on both occasions for incidents involving Jefferson Montero – owned up to his Liberty folly:

“I’m very disappointed. It was stupid of me and I have to apologise to my team-mates, the supporters and everybody, because trying to win a game with ten men is very difficult. The first yellow card was clear. The second one, I lost the ball, he (Montero) ran past me and in a split-second I touched him. I pulled him back and that was stupid.”

West Ham are set to be without Adrian for the next three league matches after the Spaniard’s weekend dismissal at home to Leicester. Dismissed for serious foul play after an incident with Jamie Vardy, the Hammers keeper will miss clashes against Bournemouth, Liverpool and Newcastle before returning to action in Gameweek 6 away to Man City. Darren Randolph (4.5) is set to deputise in his absence.

I think I'm going to tough it out for at least another GW, don't see much value in WC'ing yet, but I think I'll take a hit this week to bring in Kun. What do people think of this?

Hazard and Rooney > Sanchez and Aguero (-4)

I've been sat here seriously considering it (team linked).

But really I'd be WCing to a template that isn't going to drag me up from 2.6m.

Going for Rooney + Walcott > Aguero & Ayew with my 2FTs and will happily take a -4 next week with some more data.

Rooney looked poor, Hazard will come good but Sanchez Aguero should easily outscore them so sounds like a good move

Walcott to Mahrez and Rooney to Aguero? Are these good trades, and is it worth to do Ritchie to Ayew for a -4?

Literally just pulled the trigger on this. I feel relieved.

Probably yes on the -4 as well given Ritchie is falling, Ayew in form and nice fixture up next.

So, before I click confirm, anyone wanna talk me out of this?

Walcott, Haz, Benteke > Yaya, Aguero, Payet (-8)

Means I'll be keeping WC until after GW4 at least.

    Adrian, McCarthy
    Mertesacker, Azpilicueta, Darmian, Oxford, Gomez,
    Hazard, Yaya, Sanchez, Westwood, Mahrez
    Rooney, Benteke, Defoe

How about swapping Benteke for Aguero and Hazard for Chadli (or anyone else 7.0 max?) Goals have got to start coming for utd soon. I would like to give Benteke chance though he hasnt played Bournemouth yet but no time to wait and see.

I think I have to get Aguero in, so the plan is:
sell Rooney and Ivanovic - Buy Aguero and one of the following: Shaw, Kolarov, Alderweireld, or anyone at 5,5 or less?

Already have in defence: Bellerín, Clyne, Cedric, Turner

    Any good advice?

for me there are only two reasons to wild card, to prepare for a double game week (second wc only this season), or because you have a complete injury/form crisis.

nobody has the latter after two games and so whilst I can believe people wcarding now (or indeed already) will catch the early bird, they in turn have no way of making wholesale changes further down the line if disaster strikes

I have not had a good start by any stretch of the imagination and somebody in my mini league just WCarded to bring in kun, sanchez, mayrez and ayew this week. But he's still only 25 points ahead of me overall and now has no chelsea, pool or united cover.

Pool haven't even played a home game yet. Is Hazard really not going to still be one of the top 5 players in the game? Yes a few transfers can sort out situations, but a wild card can turn an ailing side into a world beater overnight if used well. I just don't see almost any of the early season big hitters bar City (and it is SO early) carrying on at this pace. Mahrez and Ayew aren't going to score 20 goals. And either of them do, I'll donate another £20 to Demi's charity...

    or maybe a tenner...

Indeed. FFS is in panic mode frenzy. Let them at it.

There may not even be a DGW in the first half of the year - when the first wildcard expires - so that argument doesn't hold. In terms of form, if you have only 46 points after two games, i think that qualifies as bad form.

If disaster strikes later, i'll take a hit. But not willing to take hits now to fix what i screwed up in initial team selection.

      Just a different view.

What to do with this lot?

    Pant (4.0)
    Bellerin Azpi Francis (Coates, 4.0)
    Silva Hazard Cabaye Ozil (Bentaleb)
    Kane Rooney Deeney

    2FT
Tempted by Hazard and Rooney to Payer and kun...

you don't need kun yet - he's not 100% and not finished a match - you have silva, who is currently the main man and everything goes through him.

my advice? do kane for a 6-7m striker this week (sakho, vardy, gomis), then do rooney to aguero next week for the watford match

Did Olsson replace Lescott? Likely to keep his place?

Did you WC Andy? And I honestly wouldn't know. Wouldn't go near them. Just get Myhill if you want West Brom.

For all of you being frustrated after another tough gameweek:
Remember, it's a game of patience. You might be at the rock bottom of your mini leagues now, but it'll change if you stick to your plan and keep calm. The casuals will eventually run out of luck. The ones who used WC will regret this move in winter, when all injuries accumulate. Those who played their chips will definitely need it for double gameweeks. There's plenty of time to bounce back.
Good luck to everyone. Hope you do well and be patient.

Is a -4 for Hennessey to McCarthy ridiculous? I'd never play him over Courtois, but I'd have a back up in case of suspension or injury and would catch 0.2m in price changes.

My thinking is eventually im sure courtois won't play a game, so I need that back up really (which obviously I could have used this week)

Is it not better to take the hit now to better plan for the future? Catch the 0.2 rise.

    Rutland
    Azpi kos huth (francis Coates)
    Sanchz mane ayew chadli (westwood)
    Aguero benteke sakho

Looks good or should I wildcard
    Coates and mane are dropping
