I'm on 50, so similar position. Was planning to hold the WC, but hit the trigger today - otherwise I'd have lost 0.7 in value by the end of the week!

That is of some comfort! WC too though I had set my team up planning to use it in gw4, except I wasn't as clever as I thought with the side I selected!

Yes, I can beat that with 41.

      My team was:

      Ruddy, Butland
      Ivanovic, Jenkinson, Francis, Wisdom, O'Shea
      Hazard, Ramsey, Mané, Ritchie, Walcott
      Rooney, Wilson, Sakho

Mine wasn't too dissimilar though I thought I was being a maverick not having Ivanovic & Hazard!

Good luck on the WC (if using) & let's make some serious ground up!

I think you made the right move not having Ivanovic, he looked old and slow against MC.

I'm being stubborn and not playing the WC. Gambling on Rooney delivering this week before grabbing Aguero for GW4.

All the best, the only way is up.

I might get Mane in after his price drop.Very solid 3rd mid to own. At 7.9 certainly better than 7.6 Payet.

      10 years, 6 months ago

You might be wrong in your comparison to Payet. Payet will surely outscore him on the short/long term. Mané can be a good punt given the favorable fixtures coming up but Payet will surely grab precious points for his team and FPL owners for sure.

Mane was a very average pick last season at 6.5, never considered him this season at that price.

so I've been still tinkering with WC drafts..here is my latest one with 1m in the bank:

    Butland - McCarthy
    Williams - Gomez - Darmian - Richards - Kolarov
    Mahrez - Sanchez - Silva - Payet - Westwood
    Aguero - Diouf - Gomis

With my WC being played, my only concern is Francis from BOU but I'm uncertain of anybody else at £4.5m when my backline looks like - Williams - Darmain - Koloarov - Micah.

Any suggestions are welcome, oh my keeper is Butland too.

Please explain mate, I'm on my WC. I've currently got Francis in, are you saying take him out at £4.5m then put him back in if he's fell to £4.4m on Fri? I didn't know that was possible on a WC.

Yeah, you can make unlimited transfers on a WC. So if you sell him now at 4.5, then buy him when he's dropped to 4.4, you get him plus an extra 0.1 in the bank.

I'm doing the same thing, though I'm not entirely surely I'll buy him back.

Don't get the mass selling of Francis. Great stats, great fixtures and BOU has kept it tight for their first two games.

Keep him in and reap the rewards!

This. When on a wildcard, you just have to make sure that your final team is the right one. Anything before that is just to jump on price rises / avoid falls.

Ah cheers lads! Didn't realize falls/risers could be beneficial whilst on a WC, I assumed they'd stay the same for the time you've played it. I guess I'll pop Gomez in at £4.6m before his imminent rise to £4.7 to gain a £0.1m then, then I'll pop Francis back in maybe if he falls.

Much prefer Gomis and Payet. The fact that Gomis is on pens and Sakho is not is a real advantage to that pick. Then Payet has set piece duties and Ayew does not.

I'm thinking the same. More points and bonus being a mid, and was pretty prolific at Marseilles.
But same goes for Payet. I would try and squeeze both in.

I'm not sure about Mahrez. He's certainly improved a lot, but I can't see him getting more than 10 for the season. Current form is unsustainable, imo.

First time I've ever been brave enough to own Kolarov. I think he has genuinely improved defensively and Pellegrino will routinely pick him ahead of Clichy, who tbf, is pretty poor.

Naturally there will be a little rotation but not as much as previously imo.

I've got Kompany in my WC team at the minute but I'm edging towards Kolarov for reasons you state. Plus as above I'm chasing from a very low rank & can see Kolarov being explosive these next few weeks.

Gary Neville analysis last night re the link up play between Kolarov & Sterling on the left side was also encouraging.

It's a strange thing for a mature footballer (think he's about 29?) but maybe he's applied himself better tactically to create that trust.

He gives such a cutting edge on that left that it would be hard to leave him out I expect. The fact that he started against Chelsea (and did very well) is a massive feather in the cap.

And Clichy is just bad. I honestly believe he's only still there because he qualifies as homegrown

Is Benteke worth a spot in wc team?

    - Liverpool are not scoring much
    - More expencive than Sakho/Diouf/Wilson
    + He will deliver constantly
+ If Henderson is injured, gets penalties too?
+ Forward line of Aguero, Benteke + cheapish looks optimal for future changes

      Aguero obvious.
After that there are choices and Tekkers is as good as any.
I watched the game last night and IMO Tekkers would have done much more if Coutinho tried to deliver rather than do everything himself.

Liverpool don't look that coherent as a team, but he does seem to e building a relationship with Couthino. I think it's going to be the odd goal here and there - I'm not seeing any explosive performances, but not a horrible option for the price.

question, why is Diouf getting kinda overlooked? Stoke's upcoming fixtures: nor WBA ars LEI BOU avl swa WAT new

plus he has Adam, Afellay, Shaqiri, and Arnautovic all to supply him

Because most ppl on here think fpl means choosing from a pool of 20 players. Great punt.. i'm defo considering him from next week

I just checked and i got to go 6 and below in order to afford Sanchez in midfield 🙁 .. means i gotta get Gestede/Wilson/Deeney most likely 🙁

Who's your benched 5th mid? Is it worth going even cheaper with a 3rd forward and playing 3-5-2? Someone like Agbon or Ighalo at 5.0?

played 189 minutes so far this season and started 28 last season (playing full 90 17 times) and coming on as a sub 6 times, don't see why he wouldn't be

    About playing wildcards:
    GW1 pts 28 pos 2 050 000 horrible.
    GW2 pts 84 pos 2 038 good
Biggest green arrow ever for me.

I am now 70k with .6 extra itb.
I know people will think it was knee jerk but I think this time it is the right move.
Anyone else have a similar story?

If Montero manages to stay injury free i can see him having a great season.. Either him or Shelvey could be great options as 4th mids. Both of em have been Swansea's standout players over the first two games(and Cork from a non fpl perspective) yet barely anyone mentions them

Yeah I think Shelvey is good value at 5.5 give. He takes all corners now

I agree, Montero against Newcastle/Chelsea was unplayable and I think Sunderland this week will have a torrid time controlling him, with the cheapness of players in the mid I can afford to even have him as my 5th and comfortably play 3-5-2

      You'd say Ayew.

Montero in fairness tho...he did produce a good number of assists last year and has noticeably looked better this year.

In two games he has slaughtered Ivanovic and got Janmaat sent off.

He really hugs the line tho so isn't much of a go threat and does t get set pieces so that limits his appeal

At 6.0 though I feel he can hug and come inside like he does and get the BPS for assists and runs. The 1.1 saved between him & Ayew really helps my frontline too.

    Price drops for me...

    Coates
    Francis
    Mane

Prices will plummet/rise this week! Good time to wildcard for TV reasons.
Not enough data to effectively use it but if you have 3 City you should be fine.

Same problem for me. I had Walcott, Fab, Sterling, Ivan, Francis, Coates likely to drop this week, played the WC to avoid the -0.6!

I may well get Francis back once he's dropped. Can't imagine why everyone is selling, honestly.

Liverpool looked really poor going forward yesterday.. i dont see them doing well against the big sides in the short term. maybe once they gel and their attacking form improves in a few weeks

Not if he continue playing as a lone striker while the midfield isn't up to form.
His greatest strength is headers and LFC hasn't been profiting from this yet.

    WC Team,
    Brutal, Brutal start..

    Ruddy, McCarthy
    Kolorov, Huth, Martin, Darmian, Williams.
    Silva, Sanchez, Mahrez, Eriksen, Westwood
    Gomis, Aguero, Diouf

    0.2m in account.
Only thing I'm thinking is Yaya for Silva and upgrade a striker maybe?
    Anything else?

Should I change this team with a WC as I only have 1 FT? Was thinking of holding out to GW4 before deciding on Rooney, Depay.

    Current team:
GK: Schmiecal, Courtois DEF: Fonte, Kompany, Clyne, Cresswell, Ward MID: Depay, Schniederlin, Redmond, Bolasie, Cazorla ST: Rooney, Kane, Bentekey

Was thinking of WC to this team or alternatively replace Depay or Schniederlin
GK: Courtois DEF: Clyne, Smalling, Kompany, Cresswell MID: Payet, Ayew, Depay, Eriksen, Albrighton ST: Aguero, Rooney, Bentek

Any thoughts on current WC team...

    Courtois 4m
    Darmian kolorov jenks Richards saylor
    Mahrez shelvey mata silva Payet
    Diouf Aguero gomis

Mata is one week punt then will be Sanchez
Is shelvey too weak? Should I just go a 4.5 and upgrade elsewhere?
    Silva or Yaya?

Never a fan of planned transfers that too on a WC.

    Myhill-Mccarthy
    Willams--Kolarov--Jenks--Saylor--Gomez
    Sanchez--Payet--Ayew---Mahrez--YYT
    Kun--Diouf--Pelle--

Pick bones people, I am all ears.
