We delve into the members data this evening after the Gameweek came to its conclusion last night. Stoke, Southampton and Watford’s forwards all come under analysis, whilst Sergio Aguero and Alexis Sanchez make a strong claim for immediate investment on the back of their weekend showings.

Good picks on their own. It's the double up I dislike. Swansea always start well , won't keep up this rate of goals and have so many options it will be spread about IMO.

Is it worth downgrading Silva to Yaya in order to swap either Payet or Ayew to Depay?

I wildcarded Depay out at the weekend but I think he will be great this year. So many midfield options.

Mark made a post behind the scenes about Naughton which was interesting, thinks he might perform better than Williams.

I quite like that defence, it's very similar to mine. I might go Kompany+Shaw instead. Can't see Gomez nailing that spot, although he's currently in my team too.

Pretty much the same as me, Kompany, Shaw, Williams, Gomez... I forgot the 5th.. some 4.5 lad!

        • 13 Years
        11 years, 14 days ago

        Naughton? Interesting...

Thing with Gomez is, if he does nail the spot, he is a complete bargain and will troll non owners relentlessly no doubt. If he gets dropped, then I guess it's just an FT to be used. Those home fixtures for Pool are nice and his price lets him just be benched away.

Only thing I dont like about having him at 4.4 is it ties our hands a bit if we end up with 0.0 in the bank and need to get rid of him at some point

    4. CABAYE4
      • 14 Years
      11 years, 14 days ago

Personally don't see the need for the Kolarov risk (see my post on last hot topic about him).

Don't see the need for Francis and Gomez, when are you going to play both? May as well get a 4.0 and save the cash for elsewhere.

      1. Bubz
        • 13 Years
        11 years, 14 days ago

Kolarov's attacking stats are incredible. I am amazed that not everybody is buying him. His reward outweighs the risk hugely. As for Gomez and Francis, I doubt I'll play both at once, it just gives more options/rotation?

        1. CABAYE4
          • 14 Years
          11 years, 14 days ago

I can't see a situation where you'd ever play Francis over any of your 3 first choice defenders.

Unless Pellegrini ends his full back rotation (can't see it happening, especially once the midweek games start), Kolarov is always a 1 point risk.

            • 13 Years

I would play Francis GW at home to Villa when Gomez and Williams have Spurs and Everton

    Wildcard team

    Butland, Ruddy
    Darmian, Kolarov, Ward, Richards, Gomez
    Sanchez, Silva, Mahrez, Payet, Redmond
    Aguero, Gomis, Cisse

Planning on rotating Redmond and Cisse, may backfire with points on the bench some GWs but like their home/away rotation.
Getting Francis for Gomez once Francis drops to 4.4.

    What are peoples thoughts on:

    Kane, Sterling, Rooney OUT

    Aguero, Ayew, Pelle IN

    for a -4 , got two FTs

Does this warrant a WC in your opinion? 2 FTs used and 1.4 ITB. Or anything worth a hit? Tempted to do Ramsey to Yaya or Benteke to Gomis.

    Schmeichel
    Azpi Mert Cuthcart
    Haz Ramsey Mahrez Chadli
    Kun(c) Benteke Sakho

    Guzan Fletcher Francis Baker

Considering the price changes that are likely to happen tonight, would you WC this team?

    Butland Ruddy
    Huth Koscielny Coates Cédric Francis
    Sinclair Fàbregas Sterling Ayew Mahrez
    Agüero Pellè Benteke

I have already taken a 4 point hit to change Rooney, Walcott and Ritchie to Mahrez, Aguero and Ayew. However Im thinking about playing the WC now. What do you think, yes or no?

86 predicted fallers on FPL Stat.

The volatility is loo-la. I'll let you all at it. The WC frenzy is in DefCon 1 mode at this stage.

I haven't WCed and obviously it may bite me. But this place has gone crazy. Sure, it's the worst start in living memory but I won't be following the the mode of thinking that persons engage in when concurrence-seeking becomes so dominant in a cohesive ingroup that it tends to override realistic appraisal of alternative courses of action.

The fretting over TV is the worst I've seen in 6 years playing. I've played that game before. Sticking rigidly to transfer strategies to ensure no 0.1 losses. The legendary *cough* Triggerlips is a known exponent of it.

Bah, I say, to all that. How many seasons have we seen 110m in GW37 and you leave 3m in the bank?

Good luck to everyone on WCs but I think (hope, more so 🙂 ) that you all get your arses bitten for not waiting in order to have more data to work with.

Third sentence of the third paragraph!

I admire your approach. Worrying over TV is not something I like to do at all. For me it's due to a shift in the players I think will score well. I certainly didn't expect Aguero and Sanchez fit and firing this early, and that's a large part of it. The listlessness of Rooney and Chelsea has also caught me off guard. These players can turn it around though, no doubt. Hope your patience is rewarded, in a way!

FPLStatistics update: 8 predicted risers, 86 predicted fallers.

If this is correct (or even vaguely correct) losing a bit of TV this week is going to be fine compared with what the early WC'ers are potentially going to lose during the international break......

It isn't correct so don't worry about it, they can't differentiate the WC transfers

They do with normal non WC transfers but the visibility has been terrible this week

I have to say I think the international break is a fallacy. There's more opportunities for risers and fallers but in reality the same number if transfers occur. I don't think there is much if any benefit (financially) to wildcard in an international break

Not sure - More people will take hits to avoid TV loss so there will be more transfers, plus extra injuries, last minute deadline signings (e.g KDB, Pedro etc) that people will get in.

Guess time will tell though 🙂
