    I have to say the BPS worked for the goalkeepers this week,

    Krul
    Courtois
    Cech

    All kept their teams in the game.

    I don't understand Wenger, if he had analysed the previous games he would have known that Gomez is likely to get a YC and is weaker than Clyne.

    Oxlade has also put in some huge performances in the past, why didn't he start him, and hammer them down the right?

    They kept going down the left with no success but just kept trying the same thing over and over and over again which was never going to work!

    1. Gravless wonder

      Agree. Second half was played almost exclusively down that side. Ox could have got some joy on the right with bellerins pace on the overlap too. It's because Wenger is dodging the obvious question; which one of Ramsey and Cazorla.

          he probably needed alexis for the defensive work on coutinho's side because they were getting dominated so much

            I agree, but when I watch a team like Munich and they're bossing it, they try left, centre, right, centre, left, centre, right etc. until they get a break...

            Arsenal didn't spread the ball at all.

    So 2/3 of Liverpool's clean sheets are fake.

    Bournemouth - Fake, Elphick scored legitimately
    Arsenal - Fake, Ramsey scored legitimately

    And 1/2 of their goals are fake.

    Bournemouth - Fake, Benteke offside.

    Their owners have been lucky!

        Walcott was not the sub to make, how was he going to get in behind a backline planted on the 6 yard box?

        Oxlade should have been on 60-65 mins latest.

              I own Elphick in my Sky team. It's a foul all day long. The Benteke goal was debated, and even accepted by the ref's association, as being wrong.

              I've not seen anyone debate the Elphick goal. His hands were all over him, right in front of the ref.

          everyone saying City defender is essential based on 3/3 cleanies.

          Liverpool have 3/3 cleanies and also have 3 home games in the next 4

          watch the Liverpool games and look at the defence the system BR has set up this season, it is very very solid and Liverpool have not been conceding a lot of chances.

        Damn you and your spanners 🙂 that my initial thought. Then I figured I'm all in on city so may as well have the one top dog and arsenal and save on the city mid. Am I being lured by the coverage myth?

          • 12 Years
          10 years, 7 months ago

          Alexis to Ramsey saves so much money and the points difference between Sanch + yaya and Silva + Ramsey wont be enough (30 points) to justify the price difference.

          Aha coverage isn't a myth, its risk management. Though its more important into gw1 when there's the most unknown on each team. If you start with 1 or 2 from each of the main contenders you can get to trebling up pretty hassle free if a team (Chelsea last year, City this year) looks like a runaway machine.

        by and large you should. The ultimate dead team always comes to £100m rather than 99.5 or 99m etc

            true but I'd argue for any one gameweek the best potential team has a value greater than £100m I'm not saying spending it on Sanchez is the right thing but spending money isn't folly. Sure its okay to downgrade someone one week to reinvest the next, for example I have £1.8m itb to upgrade Target or Hennessey next week, but long term under-investment is shooting yourself in the foot.

              Yes.

              But there is also a tendency to think that the more expensive player is automatically the better option. That's what I'm getting at.

    The great GW I had having the gloss taken off by Aguero s failure to land big points on Sunday as Capt.

    Best move here lads? Had pencilled in wildcarding this week but now not so sure. Cheers!

    A) Wildcard - I'd probably make at least 12* changes here (I'd possibly keep the *, so not many!)
    B) Ozil -> Yaya
    C) Ozil & Sakho -> Silva & Wilson (-4)
    D) Shaw -> Kolarov

    Ruddy, Rudd
    Bellerin, Shaw, Huth, Coates, Targett
    Hazard*, Ozil, Mane, Mahrez*, Sinclair
    Aguero*, Benteke*, Sakho

      That's one of those nasty situations. The team is good but there are valid changes you could make to improve it.

      I think your (c) option is good and that the -4 is worth it to save the wildcard. Maybe (c) with Yaya in fact to give you more options the week after. Depends on when you think you might use the wildcard.

        Thanks - that's the thing with the first WC, if I don't use it this week I think it should be played for one of the international breaks (GW4 or GW9) or as late as possible, hoping for an early DGW or some snow.

        Target, Mane and Hazard have a good fixture this week but would probably go afterwards. If Mane is confirmed fit then I think C is the best option also. Would Mane being out edge you towards a WC?

        1. Ruth_NZ
          • 11 Years

          Well I would have loved to save mine till GW13 which is a big fixture shift. In fact I only played it after constructing my GW13 team (roughly) and seeing how I could transition to it.

          Anyway, Huth has a playable fixture, so does Coates. I don't think Mane in or out is decisive.
