Christian Eriksen remains sidelined for Tottenham’s home clash with Everton. Arsene Wenger has central defensive concerns ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Newcastle, Diafra Sakho is expected to overcome a groin problem for the Hammers, whilst Palace receive mixed injury news in midfield ahead of their visit to the Bridge.

Arsene Wenger could be without both his first choice centre-backs once again at Newcastle this weekend. Per Mertesacker is still sick, while Laurent Koscielny will be assessed later today – the former is less likely to be fit, according to the Gunners boss. Danny Welbeck is progressing well following his knee injury and could return after the international break.

Diafra Sakho looks likely to overcome a groin problem in time to face Liverpool, according to Slaven Bilic. Elsewhere, Kevin Nolan has left the Hammers by mutual consent.

Brendan Galloway remains a doubt for Everton after being forced off with a knee problem last weekend. Roberto Martinez has also confirmed that John Stones “will be ready” to face Spurs, despite Chelsea’s ongoing interest.

Mile Jedinak suffered a hamstring injury in the midweek Capital one Cup clash, and will be out of action for two to three weeks, suggests Alan Pardew. Meanwhile Pardew has revealed that Yannick Bolasie will return to the Palace squad this weekend, following the death of his father last week. Connor Wickham could return from a rib injury, though Julian Speroni remains out and is expected to return to full training next week.

Watford have no fresh injury worries but will be without summer signing Miguel Britos, who is set to serve a three-match ban for violent conduct after being sent off in the Capital One Cup earlier this week.

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Christian Eriksen remains sidelined with a knee injury. Andros Townsend is back in training however, and could be available. Pochettino has also admitted it’s unlikely that he’ll start new boy Clinton Njie due to fitness reasons, whilst the Spurs boss confirmed that Danny Rose – who has yet to start a league match – is now fully fit after sustaining a problem against Real Madrid during pre-season.

Norwich boss Alex Neil has stated that the club have suspended forward Lewis Grabban until next Tuesday, due to disciplinary reasons. Martin Olsson is expected to step up his recovery with a run out for the U21’s today.

Sadio Mane looks set to be available for Southampton’s clash with Norwich. The Senegal international recovered from a hip injury sustained at the weekend and was an unused sub in last night’s Europa League loss to FC Midtylland.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

I'm going to bench Defoe. Surely that can't end up in tears? How do the Villa defence look in your opinion?

A lot more solid than in recent seasons. Richards organises well. He and Clark are strong in the air. Bacuna is a weak link defensively down the right and they still make individual mistakes which end up being punished. I wouldn't bet against any team being able to score past us to be honest, but don't expect 4, 5, 6 goals like in previous years.

Ignoring the fact that trebling up on teams is kinda batcrap mental, which of these would you say is better?:

    A) Yaya & Treble Chelsea & Bournemouth (Zouma, Pedro, Costa & Francis, Richie, Wilson)
    OR
    B) Silva & Treble Liverpool & Swansea (Gomez, Coutinho, Benteke & Naughton, Ayew, Gomis)

Surely the only treble you should be considering is Man City at the moment.

Potentially Stoke, but I wouldn't go there myself.

Aguero, Silva, Kolarov is the most sensible.

I'm pretty happy with my team for this week, just one decision left to make.

Should I play Targett (NOR) or Francis (LEI)?

I prefer Francis however i already have Schmeichel, Mahrez and Wilson so don't really like the idea of having 4 players in the BOU v LEI match!

I suppose I could bench Mahrez and play both Targett and Francis but that seems crazy given Mahrez form

    1. louisds

is that because i already have 3 players in BOU v LEI or irrespective of that fact?

i had targett in the team all week but just changed to Francis - i'm sure it will change a few more times before the deadline!

are there any league admin on?
on the suspension button it says
"Select the player you wish to suspend from this league. Once the player has been suspended they will be unable to rejoin the league again"
but it then has a remove league suspension button below that.
so can I suspend someone and then they can join the league again once they have actually paid entry fee?
Also if you are suspended does the points for that week not count towards your end total in league?

As far as I know you can suspend then remove the suspension letting them back into the league. Their total score should count.

If no-one else gives you a concrete answer try and catch Torresmagic later on, I'm sure he would know.

I thought they were very fortunate though, and Arsenal just had a bad day. Never rated their defence in pre-season, especially with Bilic there and not Allardyce. Looks like a lot of people were decieved by the arsenal result and got the hammers defence in.

Looked at the stats? That clean sheet was largely due to Arsenal being ineffective than West Ham being defensive masters.

Can anyone see Arsenal scoring a few against Newcastle or no? Worrying that I have no gunners in my team apart from Cech.

Considering putting in Ozil for Pedro. But then what if Pedro has a great game...decisions.

Why? Newcastle looking right at the back and Arsenal looking not great so far.

I'm actually a genius computer hacker!

I made sure to take out specific statistics, although it's all good now.
Problem was me trying to credit my source...

I look at it and see 4 goals for Arsenal in the last 4 visits to St James'. That doesn't scream "annihilation".

I didnt make any suggestions about it being good or bad. 😛 But my gut feeling is that Arsenal have a very good record vs Newcastle.

Oh but that we could predict results based on the previous 7 years results.
