There’s no doubt Eden Hazard has been one of the biggest disappointments during the opening four Gameweeks of the campaign. Last season’s PFA Player of the Year was handed an 11.5 price tag in Fantasy Premier League (FPL) this summer, but with just a single assist so far, has seen his value drop to 11.4, with over 592,000 FPL bosses transferring out the Belgian since the start of the season.

After averaging 6.1 points per appearance in 2014/15, that figure is down to 2.5 points per outing in the early days of the new season. With Chelsea’s star man once again in the top five for transfers out this week, tonight’s members article compares his statistics to the previous one as we look to see why the Belgian is struggling to scale the heights of Chelsea’s title-winning campaign.

    As a Hazard and Benteke owner this is depressing.. missed the game last night and assumed that the goal meant hazard had found some form. seems he was still poor though 🙁

                  Yeah it's tempting. Pedro looks very lively and he's clinical and no ball hog - very good for FPL.

                  See top post. If I ditch him, maybe I'll go Cout way given LIv's tasty home fixtures.

                  But then I started with 3 SOT & WHU due to home fixtures. When will I learn my mistakes.. 🙁

    So just a week ago there was a hot topic regarding 'Did we make a mistake selling Rooney' after his CL hattrick.

    Now there's a hot topic called 'Is Rooney no longer a striker?'

    Classic case of kneejerking. It's issues like this that gives glimpses into the kneejerk nature of many who use this site, that are 'encouraged' by hot topics such as these. Ruth got some heat for his recent post, but stuff like this just adds more credibility to his cause.

            Note it's not made a hot topic because of its controversial nature...but it is a hot topic in my eyes. I disagree with his opening question but he does raise very valid points about the culture and mindset of this site (note i use the word site as I do believe we have a very strong core community but majority are non-regulars who come and visit once in awhile to get an RMT).

      Sometimes its overthink. Look at the schedule, the opponents, underlying stats etc.

      I watched 2 full games of Man U. Rooney looked gash. Sold him.

      It doesnt always worked out but sometimes just watching a bit of football and making your own judgement is the way to go.

        I disagreed with Ruth's call for banning RMTs and that FFS bandwagons have a wider effect on the game's price movements, but he's got a very valid point regarding the herd mentality that shepherds the non-regular posters toward a very small crop of players.

        There is a very strong culture of kneejerking on this, but yea at times it is really over-thinking when it can be as simple as 'Rooney is crap - sell' or 'well, Walcott still isn't starting - sell', 'Aguero will come good - keep', 'Hazard is not worth 2 million more than Pedro - swap'

          well, Hazard has proven his effectiveness on the pitch and as an FPL pick - there's nothing wrong with being patient with him.

          We were excited about Rooney's prospects in preseason, but just 2 games is enough to see he's lost that touch needed to be a lone striker. These 2 hot topics i mentioned are just laughable and sometimes we really need to get a grip.

        I find that highly unlikely. Anyone can tell Rooney is not in form and when he's not in form we know not to get him. He's a streaky player and is a player who hasn't looked all at home up front for LVG this season.

          Rooney is an extreme example. Any player that has not averaged more than 7 ppg(not sustainable for most over the long term) has been criticized and transferred in/out like crazy

    Is it madness to start Butland (ars) instead of Ruddy (Bou)?
    Home match against a promoted team should be the obvious clean sheet option, but I really can't see Bournemouth not scoring and as a Wilson owner I want him to continue in his rich vein of form. Stoke are highly likely to concede as they haven't kept a clean sheet yet, but Butland has much higher save point potential and if Stoke somehow keep out the misfiring Arsenal attack then he could easily get a double figure haul.

    Hazard and Mertz are my big concerns atm.
    After Wilmott's and Mou's comments, I am worried for him. Will that motivate him or the contrary?

    Is Mertz match-fit? Was he on bench for Germany?

    I am thinking of swapping Hazard to Sanchez, who seems to have found his feet!
    Or get Pedro and save some money and keeping a Chelsea attacking option!

    Who's the best DEF option to replace Mertz?
    I'd prefer a 4.5 - 5.0 def.. with CS prospect or attacking returns!

    My other DEF are; Kompany, Clyne, Targett, Richards and Butland.

      would look to get rid off milner soon, tempted by the palace mids once their fixtures turn...there are a number of possible moves you could make, but saving the ft and getting one more gw worth of data will probably benefit you most

    Yaya to Silva looks on the cards
    Gomis to Benetke is affordable as well as that move. As much as Gomis has done me well i am still not convinced long term by him. Just thinking out loud. Targett will prob stay, get a 4.5 later in the season when team value up

    Any thoughts at all really welcome.

    I know this has been beaten to death but I've just sat through the replay of New v Ars, so have to vent it. If Walnuts gets put in his correct position again, ahead of Ox, I will get hm over Caz. What is it with this nonsense of not using your best C/F in Giroud every game?

    Walnuts should of scored twice in that game actually but couldn't deliver, Sanchez would make a better striker than him in my book. As a winger though, he looks almost top drawer and is better than Ox, who I am not diseminating, as I like him too.

    Lost count of all the yellows, but what I did take from it is how well New defended the barage for most of the game with ten men. The red card was correct as I saw it, as the man only had eyes for the guys leg__Crazy challenge!

    And to finish my long wind__New were very dangerous at times on the break and Ars were by no means dominant as they should of been. One moment when Mbemba came charging out of defense, walzing through the Ars m/f like Pele only to be disposessed on the edge of ars's box before he got a shot away. That would of been some goal.

    Player that stood out for me for New was Thauvin, though a big shout out for Krul.

      Walcott is not a natural striker. He is a poor finisher. His best position is out wide.

      You mention the 2 players I think that will really make their mark.
      Thauvin and the Ox are special players and I think the Ox, now over his injuries will eventually make the difference for Arsenal.

        Giroud is their best option at present and on his day scores great goals, but to balance that up he should have scored a sitter in the dying stages of that game but Donked it.
