After assessing the Defenders and Midfielders over the first four Gameweeks, our latest members articles focuses on the forwards. We turn our attentions to Bournemouth, Stoke and Swansea’s in-form frontmen, whilst we also analyse Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool’s strikers after disappointing starts to the season.

Who would you say is the best Benteke replacement?(bar Gomis)
-
Wilson/Diouf !!
keep Tekkers for Nor/Avl H ?-
Na he's in terrible form
-
and he plays for liverpool
-
Really!? Have you watched all of his games? He's gonna hit the grind very soon, and people are looking at the two games post-Utd but it could be at Old Trafford where he gets off with a brace. He loves the big games.

Just saw this on reddit:
Jermain Defoe walks into a bar, up to the most beautiful woman in the room and says:
"Grab your coat love, you've pulled".
She responds,
"You're a little forward, aren't you?"
So, what are your best football jokes?-
Arsene Wenger went to sign Reus at 23hr on last day of transfer window.. it was dark and ends up signing an autograph instead of Reus contract.
He only realises it the day after on training ground! 😀 -

3 days left for FPL.
Amen to that-
Finally!
-
You boys starting on Friday afternoon?
-
-
-
Is this looking ready for the weekend lads?
Myhill
Darmian Kolarov Bellerin
San(c)hez Silva Mahrez Pedro
Kun Wilson Gomis
McCarthy Targett Gomez Surman
0 FT & 0.2 ITB-
You're playing McCarthy in goal then.
-
Since Speroni is back, probably 10 players this GW
-
Might be better than McCarthy for us 😉
-
I concur
-
-
-
-
-
My actual team is like;
Butland - McCarthy
Clyne - Kompany - Targett - Richards - Mertz
Albrighton - Hazard - Ayew - Westwood - Silva
Pelle - Aguero - Wilson
0.9 ITB and 1FT
A) Which 3 DEF to start?
B) If I am to use my FT, who is the one to axe in priority? (I am thinking of Mertz! Pelle for next GW) or do I save the FT for next GW to swap Mertz and Pelle?
C) Who's the best DEF in the 4.5 - 5.0 bracket with CS potential for the coming weeks to get in?-
I'd get Naughton. Good long term buy?
-
-
Mrs. Lindergaard met with Mr.Pulis yesterday to clarify her husband will be the starting keeper.
You should meet her too. Mrs. Lindegaard, aka Misse Beqiri:

Maybe Pulis would want her to meet him every week, before finalising the team-sheet! 😀

Bench Chadli vs Sun or play AOA
Restof the front 8
Mahrez(AVL) Sanchez(STK) Ayew(WAT) Yaya(CRY)
Aguero(CRY) Wilson(NOR) Gomis(WAT)-
AOA.
-
which means darmian(LIV) Gomez(MUN) Targett(WBA) will be on bench with Kolarov(CRY) and Naughton(WAT) playing.. Good to go?
-
yep

G2G for this week?
Ruddy
Kolarov Jenko Williams
Hazard Silva Ayew Chadli(VC)
Wilson Aguero(C) Diouf
Bench: Rudd Huth Fletcher Francis
Cheers 🙂-
Seems Good

2FT What should I do ?
Cech
Clyne, Azpi, Cedric
Mane, Hazard, Payet, Mahrez
Kane, Aguero, Wilson
subs: Hennessey, Sinclair, Oxford, Pudil-
Bring in Swansea Attack for the Watford fixture?
-
Only thing I can see myself doing is Mane > Ayew but Mane played well last week
-
-
Kane + Mané --> Gomis + Pedro
-
Thanks mate but Kane is versing Sunderland who absolutely leak goals.
-
True but the introduction of Son might still hold him.
In case you're in doubt, you can still do Mané + Hazard --> Pedro + Alexis.
Alexis seem more of a threat than Hazard these days! Pedro represent more of a chelsea attack than Hazard atm. -
This. If you have a striker playing Sunderland don't flipping sell him.
-
-
-
azpi to kolorov and hazzard to sanchez if u want
-
-
Hello lads!
I need some advice. Who should I play this week ?
A. Benteke
B. Shaw
C. Barkley
Thanks in advance! 🙂-
I guess Benteke if you own him

How do you expect De Bruyne to affect Aguero's returns this GW?
Will he have an instant impact and create lots of chances for Kun? Or will he disrupt the chemistry, and struggle in the league, as he did at Chelsea.-
He's not the teen he was at Chelsea, he's matured a lot since.
I think he'll bring in his magical touches in midfield and some assists for the main man in front, who is none but Kun!
With Silva, YYT, Sterling and KDB to support him, I think Kun is on track for the Golden shoe already! -
Instant impact
Good for Aguero and Sterling. Bad for Yaya. Neutral for Silva.-
And the end of Navas.
-
My thoughts exactly
-
-
end of yaya -here's hoping
-
-
How did he fare when he played for Chelsea in the Premier League? Any assists or goals to that effect?
-
3 sub apps, 0 goals/assists.
-
You can hardly call that 'struggling'. More like 'given no chance whatsoever'.
-
-
-
-
Rate my team?
Guzan (Lindergaard)
Kompany Clyne Cresswell (Evans) (Naughton)
Sterling Ayew Payet Pedro Tadic
Wilson Aguero (Kone) -
If Payet blanks again this gw thinking of dumping him for shaqiri. Thoughts?
-
No. Keep.
-
seems sideways
-
Keep.
-
cheers
-
I would dump him after this week if he blanks. People might call that knee jerking but he got no points in the matches that WHU scored 3 goals!! I mean 3 goals is a big number. He should have been among the assists in at least one of the 6 goals.
There are a lot of tasty mid priced midfielders out there. Sako, Lens, Ayew etc who are way more direct and likely to score.

oh ffs, if Southampton only had a decent striker...
-
For crying out loud, they would have improved by signing Gestede!
-
It was the same last season. Pelle dominates the stats but can't finish.
-
Indeed. This is why it was so obvious. I said it last January: buy a decent striker, and you finish in top4. They bought/loaned new AM's. During summer, one would have thought the obvious move was to reinforce striker department. They bought new AM's. And they find same difficulties again. Who's surprised? Koeman, maybe.
-
They seek value for money and they probably can't get the quality they need for the budget they have. Pelle is an international striker for Italy so who is better than him that they can afford? I'm sure there are many options but perhaps they should look at buying a youngish player that will have strong re-sale value
-
J. Rod back is like a new signing 😉
-
LW not a CF
-
I thought he could play up top too? It's been so long since I've watched him play...
-
Only if he has a strike partner. He can't do it on his own.
-
cheers Ryan
-
-
-
-
-
-
pelle to come good
-
-
They should have bought Rondon...
-
That would have been fantastic!
-
And they can't say they couldn't get a player like Rondon, as he went to WBA.
A lot of very good, international level forwards who can offer a target upfront but are also good with the ball and can score, moved to what currently are lesser clubs. Southampton had a lot of options, just refused to look at them.-
Pelle as much as I agree with you aint good but he still plays for Italy.
-
-
-
I like this "decent striker" thing.
The question is who?
For the life of me I can't think of one.
If you are half decent you go and play second fiddle to a "big" club.
It amazes me a player would rather take 70k than 50k per week as second string.-

Can I get some opinions on my WC team? Have been pretty off these pages for the last couple of weeks, and would love some feedback:
Ruddy / Butland
Kolarov / Evans / Ward / Francis / Targett
Sanchez / Pedro / Yaya / Ayew / Wanayama
Aguero / Gomis / Wilson
0.5 ITB-
Dawson instead of Evans
Janmaat instead of Wardinho (good fixtures week and week 9 until forever)
Sterling instead of Yaya (Yaya negatively impacted by KDB, Sterling positively)
Your short funds after that and I need to drive to my next destination... To be continued-
Week 6 and forever for Janmaat
-
Actually,
Just addendum that
Sanchez -> Silva / KDB
Yaya -> Payet / Shaqiri-
And with that fixtures oriented change, you can keep Wardinho and instead upgrade Targett to Janmaat
-
-
-
-
What's everyone's take on Montero? Starting this weekend?
-
Evening folks,
Who are people favoring for captaincy this week, Kun, Alexis, or someone else (who)?-
Sakho!
-
I was favouring Alexis, but I worry KDB is going to provide 6 assists for Kun this GW 😀
-
Aye, it's a toss up between the two innit
-
-
Sanchez currently, but strongly considering Aguero, Silva, Gomis and Mahrez so might change by the deadline.
-
-
Talking about bad fixtures, Arsenal has 4 away matches in a row, starting with a combination of CL away match on Wednesday and a visit to another big4 club on Sunday. Wow!
-
Let me be more precise: it's 4 away matches in 11 days!
-
That's just fecking insane schedule. They will definitely play reserves against Spurs in the cup, but I'd also imagine a few players being rested at Zagreb. If not, those visits to Chelsea and Leicester will prove rough.
-
probably the full backs will be rotated and maybe even the CBs (Gabriel)
Arteta can start ahead of Coqln in a couple
Giroud-Walcott usual rotation
maybe if Wilshere is back , Ramsey/Cazorla will get rested
and OX will probably start a couple
-
-
-
Lol... with a little help from UEFA, Spurs match that with 4 matches at home in a row. 4 matches in 10 days is hard, but much less hard if they're all at home.
-
Other than that, they will play Swans away 3 days after visiting Monaco. Points will not come easy. Bournemouth visit will follow a visit to Brussels, so that's harder than it would have been otherwise.
Also they'll play Arsenal away 3 days after Anderlecht match. But they are in London for both matches whereas while Arsenal have 1 day more between their CL match is away to Bayern, so Spurs will not actually be disadvantaged there.
Other good fixtures include Chelsea at home after Chelsea's CL visit to Israel. Spurs have themselves visited Karabakh, but that probably means nothing because their first team will likely not even travel to Karabakh. Chelsea most likely will play their first team at Israel, seen that it's CL, unless they've secured the group win in just 4 matches which I doubt they have.

Having a dilemma. Who should I bench from the front 8
Hazard Mahrez Payet Yaya Ayew
Aguero Sakho Wilson-
payet
-
-
Is it sensible to bring forward a planned FT a week ahead just to get rid of benching dilemma?/
I will be benching the transferred in player
the FT is Ramsey-> Shaqiri-
Stoke's fixture from WK 6 (LEI , BOU , avl)
-
Only if it saves you price drops/rises. Even then, its probably still not wise.
-
well I think I have to bench Ramsey anyway
rest of front 7 is:
Ayew Hazard Mahrez Yaya
Kun Sakho Wilson
Ramsey is about -60% on FPLStats , so a blank this week will surely mean another price drop..
-
-
Play Ramsey in All out Attack.
-
Better to wait imo
-
So you're considering bringing in Shaqiri just so you have an obvious bench choice?
-
-
Very impressed with Rondon after watching him play
-
How did he look? Do you think he will be a good option at WBA Rukawa?
-
-
IF you have to pick 1 for your team, who would you rather have?
A. Kane (4-4-2)
B. Pedro (4-5-1)-
B
-
B on current form.
-
B
-
-
This away at Palace:
...........Aguero
Sterling Silva KDB
.......Fern. Yaya
Or
Alexis Sanchez vs Glen Johnson...
.
Still struggling with captaincy.-
Has KDB even had a training session yet? I doubt Pellegrini starts him this weekend tbh...
-
It's a tough one. I'd be going kun
-
I'm going Kun but it would not be a shock if Sanchez racks up the points.
-
-
Bench Yaya, Wilson or Ayew this GW?
-
The reason they are in your team is not on the bench.
-
Hazard Mahrez Payet Yaya Ayew
Aguero Sakho Wilson
Front 8, who should I bench?-
You have created a problem for yourself, I think that's the reason no one can help to answer this tricky question. I'd never want a rotation front 8. I'd bench Payet since you already have Sakho as cover from WHU.
-
Play the all out attack chip?
-
-
-
Wilson. I'm not convinced he can keep up his consistency
-
-
What's cracking my homogeneous ninjas?
-
yo champ
-
Hi Champ
You were right - I didn't understand the cryptic message the other day 🙁
When will it become clear?-
It will only become clear upon your enlightenment into that which you do not control
-
That's as clear as mud 😆
-
Yeah me either 😆
-
-
-
-
-
-
A. Depay to Bruyne
B. Depay to Pedro
C. Depay to Sako
D. Keep Depay and Save FT-
Save imo
-
I did B but if all three City slots weren't already taken KDB would be an interesting gamble.
-
-
KDB or Sterling for my UFPL team.
Can't have both.
Already have Yaya and don't want to use a FT to remove.
Thanks -
Which 2 to partner Kolarov this GW?
A) Darmian
B) Gomez
C) Richards
D) Ward
My GK is Butland (McCarthy) if it helps. Cheers! -
Bench one -
a. Morgan
b. Shaw
c. Gomez-
Morgan
-
Really? You think Mun Liv will be 0-0?
-
Yep
-
Wouldn't surprise me if there were no shots on target 🙁

One goal could be the diff. Tough one. Cheers
