An extraordinary death threat ode to Granville provided the inspiration and backdrop for this week’s Scoutcast.

My co-host wasn’t sure whether to feel flattered or mildly panicked by a community post like no other.

Recovering from the menacing tribute, Granville joined forces with Jonty and myself to assess the merits of the deadline day arrivals, before grappling with another round of community questions.

We rinse through the De Bruyne debate, the heavy-hitter slump, briefly consider buying Jonny Evans, before tentatively giving out dating advice – again inspired by the imaginations of you, the community.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Bets on risers and fallers

    3 points for a rise.
    3 points for a fall.

    Each guess costs 1 point.

Hi guys (lost on last page) my team is:

    Myhill McCarthy
    Darmian/Williams/Gomez Simpson/Ward
    Sanchez/Silva/Marez/Pedro Wanyama
    Aguero /Wilson/Deeney

Ive got £2.8 ITB was thinking of doing one of the following four but can't decide:

    1. Gomez to Kolorov
    2. Deeney to Rondon
    3. Gomez to Dawson
    4. Save the transfer

Just wanted to know what option looked best. Thanks guys 🙂 🙂

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years

I'd do Ward to Kolarov. Think that is better than saving as it allows you to bench Gomez.

    2. Jay_
      10 years, 11 months ago

Agree with Walsh, why sell Gomez ? He looks like a cert for 12 points in the next 2 weeks after this week, Ward is injured and Kolarov IS essential

    Hi all 🙂

I've got a feeling that Sanchez is gonna have a huge week in terms of points. But even then, is it still too foolish to do:

    A) Sterling & Mane --> Puncheon & Sanchez (-4)

I have Aguero and Kolarov as my other city players. But alternatively, I could just do:

    B) Hazard --> Sanchez

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated 🙂

    1. Walsh
      • 12 Years
      10 years, 11 months ago

I'd rather just save. But, if you don't see much else that you want to do with your team I don't mind doing B.

      1. 123thro

Yeah saving does seem logical, I dunno though, just got a very strong feeling Sanchez is gonna go big this week. Really think he could get 2 or 3 goals, and I'm scared of missing out on it!

I'd probably go Gomis because of the record he is on, but if possible I'd want to play both 🙂 Why can't you?

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

I could, but my other attackers are:

        Sanchez (STK)
        Silva (cry)
        Payet (NEW)
        Mahrez (AVL)
        Aguero (cry)
        Wilson (nor)

I figure with Watford's record at home, it makes the least sense to double up on Swansea attack, but I can be swayed if there's another in that bunch you'd rather bench.

        1. Walsh
          • 12 Years

Yeah, I should really consider that. I like how involved Payet's remained, but he seems to be getting hockey assists - which aren't doing me much good.

Ah, that's quite a benching headache you have there! Yeah, I probably agree with you benching one of your Swansea players here. Personally I would go with Gomis as I think there is a higher chance of him scoring than Ayew, but if Ayew scores too he will end up with more points. So it's a risk vs reward thing, and I think Gomis edges it for me 🙂 Good luck!

Draft league decision fellas. Would you rather have...

    A) Ivanovic and Sakho

    or

    B) Otamendi & Depay

It's tough. If Ivan's form doesn't improve he could find himself on the bench soon. On the other hand, Mangala's in great form so Otamendi is no cert to play yet either. I would lean towards B, Depay has to start converting his chances sometime.

Was thinking I just had a Mings-sized hole, but given that my non-playing 4.0 backup keeper strategy just failed, the Mings move can wait. Not like he's going to drop right now anyway, since nobody (but me) owned him.

That's annoying. At least if he's out for a few months it's an easy swap to Bego.

Would be easy, but not sure how much I really want to have any Chelsea defense at this point. Wish I knew which way WBA was going between Myhill and Lindegard, cuz they'd both be even cheaper.

Understandable. Another reason why the WBA keeper is such a good pick is the incredibly low baseline bps/min of WBA's defenders. If only we knew for sure who is first choice.

Pondering taking both of them, but then I'd have to do that forbidden thing of using an extra transfer on a keeper move (or time it with my WC)

    Ruddy
    Kolarov Darmian Huth

    Gomis Wilson Aguero

    Butland Richards Anya Ward

Yes, but I'd gamble on Butland's save/bonus points vs Arsenal.

Ruddy has home fixture vs Bournemouth. Yes, their defence is far from good but gotta fancy him over Butland vs Arsenal this GW.

I have 2FT's 0.0ITB and cant for the life of me think of anyone I'd rather in right now.
Seems just wrong to let a FT go to waste.
Want to give Depay and Payet another week.

    Myhill (McCarthy)
    Kolarov Williams Targett (Gomez Muniesa)
    Silva Sanchez Payet Mahrez Depay
    Gomis Aguero (Kone)

Maybe only Kone to Watmore to free up 0.6 but other than that I think im going to wait.
    Am I missing anything?

Hmm, that is a tough one mate. Only thing I can think of is maybe switching Gomez out for a WBA defender? But maybe that's not the best advice, I just think Gomez is gonna lose his place soon-ish is all 🙂 Good luck!

I do have Myhill already who I think is the cheapest way into that defence.

I did have a look at brining in Bergovic if Courtois was out. (Myhill out)

think Evans will walk straight into the Brom defence?

Ah, must have missed Myhill, sorry mate. I think Evans will start, but its always difficult second guessing Pulis ( I thought Lescott would be their main defender this year!) Hmm, but if getting Begovic requires swapping Kone to Watmore, then maybe it's not worth getting him? As you'd be using 2 transfers when ideally you'd only be using the one. It's a tricky situation! But I reckon getting shot of Gomez is probably the best bet if you are wanting to keep Depay and Payet 🙂 Good luck with it, it's not a bed problem to have 🙂

No bother mate! It's not been a good start to the FPL season for me, and my teams in a bit of a mess!

              Currently looking like:
              Ruddy (Myhill)
              Kolarov Azpilicueta Huth (Coates S.Taylor)
              Mahrez Hazard Sterling Mane (Wanyama)
              Benteke Aguero Wilson

              with one FT.

Looking on getting Sanchez in, but I'm not sure whether I'm just looking at the short term there as they play Chelsea next (which I suppose isn't the worst fixture nowadays!). But yeah, just gonna keep making decisions and stick with it, and hopefully win my mini leagues! 🙂

i have it "set" to 2015, but i'm getting names like Luis Saha and Morten Gamst Pedersen, and the only Sanchez is Sanchez Watt

Romero could turn into a major headache for the 361222 managers that got him in already this session

Yeah I see that side of the coin as well. His stats have looked pretty good too...Redmond. I do like him as well. I think the fixtures aren't as favorable for him though compared to Bournemouth...and I do worry about Norwich attack more in general. Cheers for the input though CD, as always 🙂

It's really close, but I actually sort of prefer Redmond at this point. He's a little more involved in their chances and I think he'll get more assists once Mbokani takes over up top.

I agree re: Mbokani but this is really looking at a 4ish week punt so I'm not sure I'll give him enough time to see the fruits of the Mbokani introduction. Redmond has looked very bright though. Thanks for the reply BM.
