As always, we delve into the Gameweek 5 data in our first members article of the week. Arsenal’s midfield and Leicester’s form pair arrive under analysis, whilst we also cast an eye over Everton and West Ham’s playmakers after both guided their respective sides to victory.

Do you lament casuals ruining the game?
Well, think again. Woeisme has some harsh words for those that casually use the word casual.

No. Next. 😕

Casuals used to go round glassing/knifing/bricking people, in the name of their club, in the bad old days.
Now they've got just a limited interest in a fantasy game.
Strange times.-

*for the youngsters -
the price of Fred Perry's and Lacosts went up so they did the sensible thing, moved into Fantasy Football.

I know that modding this place is bloody difficult - but you will get a crick in your neck!!! 😉

Get you! 😛

Lol
-
-
Well, I think it's a handy catch-all term for non-FFSers and simply anyone who takes the game quite casually. It can mean different things in different contexts. And personally I don't (always) use it pejoratively...where would we be without our casuals? 🙂
-
Good man, Reedy! 😀
-
I think you're both making the same point that the article is...
-
Isn't he lamenting the use of the term, though? Maybe I skimmed it too fast.
-
Ah I see what you're saying, I think I skimmed your comment too fast! Sorry Reedy!
-
No problem 🙂

Always refreshing to look in my ML and see a few different looking teams. It must be nice to just enjoy getting a good score and not really care at all if you get a bad one (or maybe not really know what a bad score is).
-
-
Pelle to Tekkers this week for a free?
-
No, Pelle is firing at will in the box.
-
No points for that though. Fixtures against him too.
-
-
I like that move
-
I'm doing it.
-
-
Is sako a good option? His stats are ridiculous but I don't see many mentions of him..
-
I'm torn b/w him and Ayew, but Ayew's fixtures are better imo.
-
I would be worried about Sako's game time.
-
-
With 3 red flags my team has just picked itself!
No beating myself up for benching wrong person this week!-
lol 😀
-
Who??
-
Ward Shaw Grabban (last one my bad)
-
-
-
for my 2 FTs this week:
Shaw & Pelle âž¡ C.Dawson / JEvans & Benteke (C)
Yay or Nay ??-
yayyyy!!
-
-
Put these defenders in order 'must haves' (for the next couple of weeks, not just this GW):
1. Dier
2. Darmian
3. Skrtel
4. Kolarov
5. Cresswell
6. Dawson
7. Bellerin
8. Cedric
9. Fonte-
427651893
-
4.
the rest -
It would be fun to have:
Kolarov
Fonte
Bellerin
Skrtel
Cresswell
Dier
Cedric
Darmian
Dawson
in that order, for me.-
Cheers, darmian+dawson that low tho? Anti-template for sure 😉
-
That's my view, fwiw.
-
I rate your view highly, so thanks for that.
Currently have Cech on goal, but might switch him and get Bellerin...
-
-
-
Cresswell is interesting - you fancy West Ham to get a few cleanies in the next few?
-
Yeah I think so, and he'll probably get some more chances for attacking returns
-

-
Cheers! Is Dier just temporarily in midfield because of other injuries, or is he nailed there? Seems like a good OoP....
-
he is not nailed there
-
He's our only DM option so he's pretty much a nailed on OoP
-
I like it, two different answers within 1 minute, lol 😀
-
He's also arguably been our best player so far this season
-
Thanks, probably gonna try and squeeze him into my line-up.
Kolarov and Dier are in, who are the other 3..... it's so hard to pick the right ones-
I'll add in that I personally wouldn't pick a Spurs defender. But was just answering your question
-
-
-

I'd have Dawson fairly high up. WBA 3 clean sheets in 5 games so far. The two games they shipped goals were City and Chelsea.
Some decent home and away fixtures coming up.-
True that, it's just so hard to pick the right ones.... currently on WC, so I'm trying to get them all in 😛
-
Well Kolarov is a guarantee. I'd want a WBA defender for the longer term as well as short.
Darmian can probably be left out now if you don't already own until around GW12. Still not convinced by Spurs defence but they are on 2 clean sheets in a row.
Arsenal's fixtures aren't great so Bellerin could potentially be left out a while longer but when they do keep clean sheets he's really in the BPs.-
Sounds good, thanks
-
-
-
-
No Watford? Prodl
-
You're making it even harder to choose now...... 😉
-
-
-
So how do you guys see how LVG will organize his defense now that Show is sidelined?
Blackett is on loan at Celtic right? so what's happening with the left-back spot?-
Blind would be my guess, and Rojo partnering Smalling at the centre
-
probably Blind at LB, with Rojo in the centre, but it could also be the other way round.
Either way I reckon it's those 2 players playing though -
Just like last night, Blind will move to LB and Rojo will play LCB.
-
-
If Kompany is out, does it make sense to do a straight swap to Kolarov?
-
It does
-
Yes!
-
Yeah. Looks good move to me.
-
easily
-
Great stuff. Late to the party but excited to be here none the less.
-
-
Whats this about a Pedro injury? Cant find any news relating to it, trolls?
-
-
😀
-
-
Guardian reported he got a minor thigh injury either during training yesterday or at the weekend.. then some random websites which are now considered sources picked it up and said Pedro's out of tonights game with an injury.. Then the Chelsea fan forum picked that up and panicked and said "Pedro is injured! FML!! And we have Arsenal this weekend!" ... then the FFScout forum picked it up and said "Pedro is injured and out for the Arsenal game!!"
-
Lol! Thanks mate, wait and see then

Bayern Muchen -1 handicap odd 2.10 - 11/10
They are playing against Olympiakos. Am I missing something? Looks great bet to me.-
I guess it's away just by looking at those odds, tough place to go, etc..
-
Agreed but its still Bayern against Greek champs.

Couple of things to decide on!
1) Who to replace Shaw with? Looking at Darmian or a Stoke / West Brom defender
2) Who to bench out of:
Mahrez (stk)
Pedro (ARS)
Sanchez (che)
Sinclair (WBA)
Wilson (SUN)-
Assuming you have a Man City defender I think Bellerin is your next best option
Sinclair -
1) WBA Defender
2) Bench sinclair
-
-
Who do we think is a better option between Benteke and Diouf over the next 6 weeks?
Stats appear to be similar between the two apart from chance creation, and stoke have better fixtures, but to me Benteke is the better player who can be quite explosive as we know.-
Benteke
-
Tekkers
-
-
wow...tempted for Westwood to Sako (dont even mind the benchng headache i might have)
-
Thanks for this Doosra. The shots on target is what was making me take notice. But the other gets a lot more touches of the ball.
-
It's not how you do it - it's what you do with it! 😉
-
well played.
So which one would you go with Doos?-
I think that I like Benteke more. But I am not very sound on Diouf.
-
Cheers mate. I feel the same about Diouf.......but those stats!!!
-
-
-
-
-
-
Benteke

Butland
Kolarov Francis Gomez
Yaya Sanchez Coutinho Mahrez
Kun Wilson Gomis
(McCarthy Darmian Payet Richards)
Have 2FT so may as welk make at least one transfer - any suggestions? (0.4 ITB)-
Solid team, lest wasting a transfer what about Richards out to a WBA?
-
Now thats a tough one.
Maybe something you havn't thought of is Darmian out? Fixtures coming up aren't that easy and midweek games to deal with.
Otherwise maybe a sideways move of Yaya to Sterling?
-
-
Team atm is
Butland/Ruddy
Kolorov/Morgan/Saylor/Francis/Gomez
Haz/Sanchez/Yaya/Westwood/Mahrez
Kun/Wilson/Gomis
Got 2FT and 0.8m...best use??
A Haz to Pedro
B Morgan to Cedric
C Morgan to Dawson
D A and B
E A and C -
Have to bench one. Who should it be?
A) Mahrez
B) Pedro
C) Shaqiri
D) Gomis (have Ayew)-
C or Dif no other options
-
B
-
C

-
Is benching Pedro over either Payet, Diouf or Sako crazy talk?
-
Yes
-
No.
-
Over Payet it is not. Over Diouf or Sako, yes
-
Thanks. I might toss a coin between Sako and Diouf
-
-
-
Gomez (NOR), Francis (SUN), or Targett (MANU) this week?
-
Francis just
-
Francis
-
I have chosen Francis over Gomez, fwiw.
-
Gomez
-
Gomez
-
-
which team has best next 5 fixtures ?
-
Manchester City.
-
You got bigger problems than worrying about that if you are going blind
-
*framed that wrong..
Anyway.. look towards the ticker on the right and decide for yourself. It's all subjective.. one mans "chelsea away" is not another man's "Sunderland home"
-
-
-
My team looks good on paper but still no points 🙠so frustrating.
Only Benteke has brought me more than 4 points as a captain. Focking hate when my casual friends are way ahead of me and laughing at my team.-
-
ðŸ™
-
😀

-
-
-
Who to captain this weekend???
AGUERO
BENETKE
MAHREZ-
It seems boring and stubborn, but Aguero
-
Could this be his hatrick weekend??
-
If we say it every week we'll eventually be right, maybe.
-
why we so sure he will start?
-
It could be Mahrez's 😯
-
-
-
Aguerooooooooooooooooo
-
Mahrez.
-
It's a tough one.
Aguero may only get 70mins or 30min
Liverpool not looking that good going forward
Mahrez, this fella is bang on form
Mahrez Captain -
Kolarov or Wilson
-
Wilson - gotta be him home to Sunderland
Kolarov - not this GW v West Ham
-
-
-
A) Kane, Ritchie -> Tekkers, Mahrez
B) Kane, Ritchie, Mane -> Tekkers, Mahrez, Ozil -4
C) Kane, Ritchie, Mane -> Wilson, Mahrez, Sanchez -4
still not sold on any of these...-
How about Kane and Mane to Benteke and Mahrez? Ritchie might be worth keeping for Sunderland and that leaves you with a lot of money ITB to upgrade him the week after.
-
C) but is it worth a hit? Don't think so.
Maybe just Ritchie to Mahrez for now -
A
-
A
-
-
Team atm is
Butland/Ruddy
Kolorov/Morgan/Saylor/Francis/Gomez
Haz/Sanchez/Yaya/Westwood/Mahrez
Kun/Wilson/Gomis
Got 2FT and 0.8m...at the moment my thought is Morgan OUT for either Dawson or Cedric
Hazard has one week...-
Morgan to Dawson for me. WBA fixtures too tempting to ignore
-
-
Williams (EVE) or Gomez (NOR)?
-
Williams, perhaps.
-
Doosra!! How's Shelvey doing in your table? still a good option? i'm slowly losing faith tbh
-
Had a bad match ... wonder if he is carrying an injury from the England game ...
-
-
Cheers.. will give him another 2 weeks(dont have a choice though really 😆 )
-
-
-
-
Gomez
-
Hmmm tough one. Would def go for Williams were it not for Everton's marauding attack this season
-
Gomez
-
Gomez.
-
-
Tempted to switch for 3-5-2 after this gw when looking West Ham and Palace fixtures
Something like this:
Sanchez - Kdb - Mahrez - Payet - Bolasie/Sako
Gomis - Aguero - Wilson-
that's still a mix between a 3/4/3 and a 3/5/2 .. similar to what i'll be doing though
-
-
Fabianski
Prodl Kolarov Cedric
Ramsey Sterling Mahrez Pedro
Kun Diouf Benteke
Subs: McCarthy Wanyama Huth Mings
1FT 1.7 itb
Thinking of saving my FT this week. Your thoughts?
Thanks! -
Repost.
Ok, so I do need help regarding my defense and the 5th midfielder.
Defense-- Darmian Kolarov Richards Muniesa Ogbonna(5.0)*
Mid-- Sanchez Sterling Mahrez Payet Anya(4.5)*
ITB--1.7m
So the dilemma is whether to go for the safer option and sort out Ogbonna (CS are easier to predict, imo) or to ship out Anya for a palace mid?
A. Ogbonna-> Dawson (pulis defense)
B. Ogbonna-> Evans (budget reasons, to get Bolasie next week)
C. Anya-> Sako (not nailed on :/ )
D. Anya-> Bolasie and Ogbonna-> Evans (for a hit, 0.1 ITB)
E. Save transfer!
Please give a short reason for your choice.
Thanks in advance!-
E. Nothing urgent about Ogbonna unless you're looking to play 5 in defence. Just bench Anya
-
I agree with Pochecinno
-
Not in the mood to play Payet against the City defense. Plus CS points are crucial in a bad GW (AND they are easy to predict, somewhat :/ )
-
Plus Muniesa doesn't seem to be getting CS either, so..
-
-
-
-
0.6 ITB
Ruddy
Azpi Kolarov Targett
Pedro Sterling Mahrez Payet
Aguero Benteke Lukaku
(Rudd, Coates, Huth, Westwood)
Thinking of saving FT this week then next week Benteke & Sterling --> Diouf & Sanchez
Thoughts?-
I'd rather get Lukaku and Pedro out of there
-
Lukaku has the potential to grab 2 goals vs Swansea + on pens (giving him 2 more weeks) as he's a good differential.
Pedro - awaiting news for weekend. May do Sanchez to Pedro next week and look to get Costa in too
-
-
I would probably keep that team
-
-
Wildcarded last week - thinking of getting Benteke(c) in for a hit which would involve Pedro or Sanchez out.
Stop me.-
Did you not see how Liverpool played last week mate? Norwich will win.
-
Stop
-
-
Dawson or Bellerin/Monreal for my Shaw replacement?
-
I like Dawson
-
Dawson better fixtures
-
