The first members’ article of the week arrives this evening as we delve into the data from Gameweek 6. We check in on Chelsea and West Brom’s new attackers, assess Everton and Southampton’s lone strikers, and cast an eye over Liverpool’s main performers in light of Brendan Rodgers’ move to a 3-4-1-2 formation at home to Norwich.

        yeah.. i know demichelis is a risk.. but probably should come in now that kompany out and city didnt get a clean sheet?

          Why would you take him then? City's defence likely to be compromised even further now with Kompany and Mangala out.

            i disagree.. i think demichelis will bring city just what they need and have been lacking

              Mate.. Are you really serious about that? Please tell me you aren't..

              sanchez aguero gomis > inghalo naismith sinclair - 8

    How did Sterling play last night lads? I have two FT and could possibly do Gomis & Sterling to Sakho & KDB. De Bruyne could be great but saw that Sterling also scored!

    1. Moorinho

      Got a goal and an assist or two. Lively throughout.

      Against Sunderland, so take that with a grain of salt.

    Ruddy l Rudd
    Kolarov l Jenkison l Williams l Francis l Huth
    Sanchez l Ayew l Silva l Marhez l Fletcher
    Aguero l Martial l Wilson

    0FT / 1.4ITB, WC intact

    On a WC, I would change GKs, Jenko, Huth, Fletcher and maybe Silva because of the injury.

    What would you do? When is the best time to WC in your opinion?

    First question;
    All are saying that Evans is injury prone...any stats about this to be found anywhere? Is Dawson worth the extra 0.2 ? Evans is bonus points magnet....

    Second one;
    Moreno had excellent stats in the last game, a risk worth taking as the fifth defender? Or should we just wait and see who's gonna get minutes?

    Thanks.

      Wouldn't go near a pool defender ATM. I got Evans as I believe he poses a good goal threat and more likely to get baps. But yes he is made of glass

    Guys need some major help with my team. What would you do with this lot? Have 1 FT. Options I am considering are as follows. Any other suggestions welcome.

    a. Costa and Montero > Hazard and Wilson for a hit, play AOA chip. (Deal with Gomez next gw)
    b. Costa and Gomez > Martial and Dawson for a hit
    c. Costa > Martial

    bego McCarthy
    kolarov skrtel morgan whittaker Gomez
    yaya ozil mahrez payet Montero
    kun costa ighalo

    1. 7alwachi
      11 years, 27 days ago

      I would go A but without the AOA chip, I'd save that for DGWs. If I had to choose from your options I would go Costa/Martial.

      1. SpaceCadet
        11 years, 27 days ago

        AOA chip for dgws? I thought its more useful to use the other two chips for the dgws

        1. 7alwachi
          11 years, 27 days ago

          Yes. First of all I think there will be plenty of DGWs this season. Second, I personally find that a lot of my punts tend to come off 2nd half of the season so I think my 8 forwards could do really well. Keep in mind that Arsenal v Leicester will probably not be a high-scoring game. 1-1, 2-2, or 2-1 to either side imo. Özil and Mahrez might not be involved.

        2. Manamongst
          11 years, 27 days ago

    Targett, Gomez, Sagna and even Darmian are looking like they'll be (or already are) rotation risks soon enough. Kolarov a bit after that (Clichy set to return in 3 GW time).

    There'll be lots of transfers wasted on sorting the defense out.

  17. La Roja

    Would you rather to have:

    B) Hazard away to Newcastle who is shipping in goals for fun and hazard on penos

    2. Nickofoz
      11 years, 27 days ago

      Close one, I own neither so unbiased view but I'd lean towards A. People are getting very excited over Hazard for a decent performance when the opposition was down 2 men and chasing a goal.

      1. La Roja
        11 years, 27 days ago

        Good point but Newcastle is shocking at the back

        1. Nickofoz
          11 years, 27 days ago

          Not as bad as Leicester IMO. Leicester are an attacking side so won't be scared to come at Arsenal which should leave space for Sanchez, whereas I think Newcastle will take a more defensive approach as they have done against the big sides

    3. 7alwachi
      11 years, 27 days ago

      Just for this one game Sanchez because he's eager to score and he did so at Leicester last season but looking at the fixtures list Hazard looks like a much better choice longer term.

      1. Shifty
        11 years, 27 days ago

        I regret that early transfer on Silva > Sanchez when we saw Sanchez in the lineup against Leicester before deadline.

    4. Shifty
      11 years, 27 days ago

      I think Newcastle look shite when they try to win. But they are quite decent when they know they have to defend.

      I would go A - Leicester will probably be riding their wave of confidence and it should be a nice open game for both teams offensively.

      1. La Roja
        11 years, 27 days ago

        I don't understand the logic sorry shifty

          I did say 'I would go A', no?

          First sentence basically means Newcastle look decent when they know they have to defend 'ie park the bus'. The games they've been hammered is against opponents where they've tried to attack and win the games. They were very organized against United and Arsenal - even though both attacks were abit toothless on the day.

    5. Moorinho
      11 years, 27 days ago

      Sanchez. Newcastle are Chelsea's bogey team. And Hazard does much better at home anyway.

    Let's try again...quite undecided on what to do this week. This is my current team:

    Hart - McCarthy
    Kompany - Richards - Naughton - Gomez - Dawson
    Sanchez - Mahrez - Payet - Barkley - Westwood
    Kun - Benteke - Wilson

    A) Gomez --> Azpi/Zouma/Cresswell
    B) McCarthy --> Myhill
    C) Benteke --> Martial

    Or a combination for a hit?

    Also, if I don't do A), could possibly play AOA chip...

    1. 7alwachi
      11 years, 27 days ago

      Keep McCarthy since you have Hart and not just for this week (despite Hart's fixtures). Deal with Gomez next week, your defence is good enough for now. I'd replace Benteke because I heard he got a hamstring injury so that will potentially keep him out for 2 games.

            Fair enough. Don't have a great history with double ups and Southampton's fixtures aren't amazing, they are alright

            They seem to be following through on Pelle's pre season talk of forming a great understanding

      Somewhat depends on your other attackers.

      Ighalo if I'm flying blind.

        Front 8 is:

        Mane, Payet, Silva, Mahrez, Fletcher
        Aguero, Benteke, Gomis

        Cheers 🙂

          Benteke out for martial unless he is fit then. U need Manu attacking coverage for Sun game

        Haha. Agreed... mostly. We are definitely not in great form but you can't really take anything away from our last match. Little worried about missing Coquelin tho.... but after that pathetic excuse of a match against Chelsea, I'm thinking the team is ready to pummel on someone. On a side note..... am I the only one constantly wondering why Ox isn't utilized more often? Always coming on in the 70th minute is ridiculous. He should be playing over Ramsey IMO.
