      I think it depends who you have already. If you have a duff midfielder that you're looking to move on then Wij must come into consideration now (form / fixtures!) but I wouldn't rush to get him for the likes of Walcott, Mane, Payet, Mahrez, etc

      I'm a Newcastle supporter - Even after that game i wouldn't put Wijnaldum in.

      Don't know why people rush to get players in when they have a run of goals on a team like Norwich, need at least 2 games to show at least some consistency and against the likes of a team at the level of Spurs, Southampton etc.

        As a Toon fan you should know he's been in good form, was apparent when they Toon played Chelsea. He also scored in the recent Euro qualifiers for Netherlands.

          As i said - Chelsea have more problems than just general performance currently.

          Norwich were poor..

          As a Newcastle fan - i still think they're going to be relegated. Even today - they were very sloppy at times.

          Well I thought of that but couldn't think who. Aguero was definitely out and who in their right mind would captain Kompany or Depay? Unless we're saying there's a lot of dead teams or people who don't follow football in the top 10k...

              Oh, granted but in the top 10k still? I know the start of the season was a bit odd but by GW9 you'd think most of them would have dropped a bit. I certainly wouldn't think 1 in 5 of the top 10k is dead, or even 1 in 6 or 7 if you discount Ayew / Gomis captainers.

              Not sure what my point is now really! I'm not doubting the 19% stat, I just find it incredibly surprising!

    And that shipping in players with fixtures but not that good form can be often more successful over 5-6 GWs in comparison to shipping in players with form but not that good fixtures ?

      Personally I prefer fixtures as my yardstick when doing transfers with few expections like Aguero and co.

    I got a bit of stick earlier (and i'm sure I still will) but i'm about to reply to FPL about the assists query. Is this a fair point? Or am I completly being blind when reading the rule page?

    "Your assist rules don't clearly state that when a player shoots or passes and then scores themself that this cancels out a previous play. What I mean is it's ok saying that Van Dijk can't assist himself but Pelle still had the final pass/shot before Van Dijk eventually scored. Regardless of how many attempts Van Dijk had (he could of hit the post 10 times) the final pass to him came from Pelle. You need to clearly state than when a player shoots at goal but doesn't score this cancels out the pass makers assist."

      I agree with you. Given that they are already generous with shot rebound assists, it does seem overly harsh that they then add that seemingly arbitrary rule without it actually being in writing.

        Cheers. It is frustrating. You would think the fairest/easiest thing would be to do how I read the rule. The final passer to an eventual goalscorer gets an assist, regardless of what happens in between. To think Butland got an "assist" the other week and Pelle doesn't this week. That's mad.

          Yeah it's a bit daft. I preferred what they had in 2011/12 where it would be the last player to touch it unless an opponent touched it outside the box. It would sometimes end up with weird or undeserved assists but at least there was no grey area.
