Alright time to move on from Hazard. Best replacement?

    A. Eriksen
    B. Barkley
    C. Payet (yes don't have him)
    D. Sterling (double up with KdB)

Having Vardy is irrelevant to decision of Mahrez vs Ighalo.
I'd probably bench Mahrez, of those two.

I have potentially 2 4.5 defenders that will not start next week. Souare and Ben Davies. Any other 4.5 defenders to replace? Current defender line is: Bertrand, Janmaat, Nyom, Davies, Souare

Moreno or Sahko if you have a bit of cash

Is smalling worth his hefty price tag when you consider he offers minimal goal threat?

    1. bibon27
      11 years, 10 days ago

      no...

    2. sglancelot
      11 years, 10 days ago

I would say that he still offers substantial goal threat from set pieces. I'm considering Rojo also, cheaper and similar goal threat, if he nails down a starting spot before Luke Shaw is fit.

  8. bibon27
    11 years, 10 days ago

    my front 8 are

    Payet/Drinkwater/Sanchez/KDB/Mahrez
    Martial/Pelle/Vardy

    was thinking of
    Martial to Ighalo
    Drinkwater to Ayew/Mata/Ozil

    worth it?

    1. President John F. Keninnsie

      No, Martial has good fixtures.

  9. Jafalad

If Jagielka is out long term, who is the likely replacement? Wondering if Galloway has a stay of execution.

    1. President John F. Keninnsie
      11 years, 10 days ago

      Funes Mori.

      1. Jafalad
        11 years, 10 days ago

        Ty Innsie.

    2. sglancelot
      11 years, 10 days ago

I'm considering Galloway too. Looked dangerous at times during the game yesterday. 4.5 and nailed on until Baines returns in about 8 weeks time I think.

      1. Jafalad
        11 years, 10 days ago

I read on here that Baines is due back a lot sooner though. Has he been pushed back?

  12. Live Lad
    11 years, 10 days ago

I want to use bench boost to make drastic changes to my team. Need to sell Hazard, Gomez, probably Richards and McCarthy too. I'm getting KDB and Toby/ Kompany/ Smalling for the fixtures. I would sell if Ayew didn't score last night.

Ideas welcome for my current team:

    Butland, McC
    Dawson, Bellerin, Cedric, Richards, Gomez
    Hazard, Ayew, Sanchez, Payet, Mahrez
    Bony, Pelle, Vardy

Bench boost will allow 3 or 4 transfers without affecting the OR. Currently placed around 70k.

    1. Desertbug
      • Fantasy Football Scout Member
      11 years, 10 days ago

      what?

using your bench boost now will only mean that you won't have it later in season for a DGW when it could have an even greater effect on improving your OR

hits are hits and minus four is minus four

covering it up with a bench boost now doesn't make them not be hits.

      1. Pumpkinhead
        11 years, 10 days ago

I agree it can be used at a later time (dgw) with greater effect but at the same time it is a bit of an interesting and different strategy using your bench boost as a way to "cover" up some hits. If your team is in desperate need of some changes and you have no wildcard in hand you can uses this bench boost as a sort of lesser wildcard. That being said it obviously doesn't create an advanced standing (i.e more players to play) in that gw which is what the bench boost is for.

        1. I Member
          11 years, 10 days ago

This is true but his team definitely isn't bad enough to need a 'mini wildcard'.

          1. Pumpkinhead
            11 years, 10 days ago

            Agreed. I'm speaking more generally.

        2. Live Lad
          11 years, 10 days ago

Yes. Exactly. I am using those points on the bench to cover up the useful hits. Mini WC.

        3. Desertbug
          • Fantasy Football Scout Member
          11 years, 10 days ago

If you play bench boost when there are no DGW, you get 16 scores. (2x captain). As opposed to 12 scores.

If you play bench boost when you can set your team with extra players who have DGW, who you would not ordinarily be able to fit in your eleven man lineup, then every one of those DGW players on your bench brings two additional scores to your total for the week.

You have to set it up, probably with a wildcard the week before, and it may be hard to wind yourself out of, but that's what people are shooting for.

Played in that situation, it has a greater impact than when played now.

          1. Pumpkinhead
            11 years, 10 days ago

Not disputing that at all. I understand how it should ultimately be played and I'm planning something similar to that. I'm just saying that if a team was in desperate need due to injury, non playing player, etc... that it could be used to off set a large amount of hits and that could be a positive play at this stage. I don't think there is a right or wrong place to play it though there may be a more optimal time to play it.

    2. Just A Hat
      11 years, 10 days ago

I feel like you are unsure what the Bench Boost does

      1. Live Lad
        11 years, 10 days ago

I sure do. But it can be used for a different purpose too.
Doing it will give me a stronger team for now till December.

        1. Desertbug
          • Fantasy Football Scout Member
          11 years, 10 days ago

Is your season over in December? Or are you in some minileague where there is a December prize? That's the only way your plan seems to make sense to me.

          1. Live Lad
            11 years, 10 days ago

Forget about December. I was thinking we can have more FTs during the festive period.

    3. I Member

Don't think you need to change a lot. Hazard -> KDB and you can put out a good 11.

    4. Green Arrow
      11 years, 10 days ago

I think you got the idea of bench boost all wrong.

      1. Live Lad
        11 years, 10 days ago

I know its basic purpose. But trying to use it differently.

    5. BootlegRascal
      11 years, 10 days ago

      Innovative thinking, but not required.

Lose Hazard for KDB. Dawson, Bellerin and Cedric is then a fine defence for next week with Richards as cover. I would try to do Gomez > Spurs/United defender asap after that though.

Captain Bony, and Bob's your uncle - well set for the week.

      1. Live Lad
        11 years, 10 days ago

Thanks. I would do that. Haz to KDB. Probably "-4" only to do Gomez to Kompany/Smalling/ Toby type.

Anyone played in a mini league with manager of the month?
Will all the scores from gw11 be considered october or will the gw be split between 2months seeing as theres fixtures on the 1st of november..

    1. I Member

They will be considered for October.

You wouldn't split the scores, as that would benefit people with more players playing on the 31st of October. It would either count as October, or as November (probably Oct)

Probably a bit of a noob question, but if you're setting up a H2H league, there are options for (none) 1,2 or 3 knock out rounds - what does this mean?

Is that like quarters, semi and final? And when do the knock-out rounds start?

      Playoffs, 1 means 1 vs 2 final, 2 = semi finals, 3 = top 8

Thanks! Sounds way more fun to have knock-out rounds than just a regular H2H

I'm tempted to just bank my FT for the first time this season (pending injury)
    Myhill
    Kolarov Bellerin Cedric
    KDB Sanchez Payet Mahrez
    Vardy Pelle Martial
    Henners Nyom Francis Wanyama

4.1ITB... Thoughts? My only potential move would be Wanyama up to a decent 5th but that can wait imo

Exact same starting 11, except I have Sakho instead of Martial...

I was thinking about Everton cover, Lukaku and/or Coleman. Obviously I need to do something with Sakho, just not firing at the moment, so Lukaku seems like the logical move, but Martial is the other option I think...

I'm keeping an eye on Cedrics game time, if it looks under threat again this week, then I might ship him

      1. Oz lotto
        11 years, 10 days ago

I hope Cedric doesn't play so I can get Nyom on the field. he way my other move... would probably go down to a 4.5ish player because i don;t like my defences to be so dear

My bench player is Francis, so I'm hoping Cedric does start, as I think he has a better chance at a CS. I'm gutted I didnt get Nyom at the beginning, would have been a much smarter move!

      The Cup
The first round of the cup will be Gameweek 18.

      Qualifying

The top 2,097,152 scorers in Gameweek 17 will enter the first round. If there are more than 2,097,152 qualifiers then there will be a random draw amongst the lowest scorers to see who qualifies.

lol the amount of people who have walcott and ighalo will be miniscule, let alone the amount of people who had ighalo first sub.
